Thread 13 - the one with a cheesy advent calendar of 67 jumpers

1000 replies

Reastie · 29/11/2025 20:25

Decided to combine both thread title suggestions :)

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for helping me out and I'm so excited that I was on my computer and she tagged me so I could set this one up - hurrah!

Feeling super festive today after getting the decorations up and visiting Father Christmas. Exciting news is the Christmas bedding and jumpers are all down from the loft and being washed, so I'll soon be able to walk around in my 'I [heart] Christmas' jumper Xmas Grin

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.
Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!
As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

After buying this yesterday for DH’s grandad I realised I haven’t seen it mentioned on the thread this year: https://alpacaproducts.co.uk/shop/p/xl-alpaca-nesting-cylinder Alpaca nesting material for birds/squirrels. We got it for my twitcher Dad last year and he loved it so have bought it for DH’s garden-loving grandad this year and hope he’s going to be just as happy. Plus it comes with a lovely note from the alpacas’ owner which is so cute.

Can't your birds get enough of the soft and fluffy alpaca wool you're offering them for their nests? Just add this XL holder to your garden for even more fun!

Can anyone help me with snackverse please?
looking at using the 30% off code. Has anyone signed up to the subscription? Is it right that I can sign up for a monthly fee but cancel at anytime, say after one month?
or I can send a one off gift but that’s twice as much as the monthly subscription

I am hoping for an answer to this too.

MerylSqueak · 30/11/2025 09:37

Nobody's Child has free delivery this weekend ( although I think you have to pay for returns). They have 20% off some products, including some cute jewellery I have linked to below and some party suitable stuff. This combines with their black Friday offer of 25% off. Think it's BF25 but it's on their homepage.

Only works on full price items I’m afraid!

Oh no, that’s grand - I thought this was the case but then I was doubting myself last minute 🙈

IlovePond · 30/11/2025 09:42

@Absolutemess there’s an Amazon Haul thread where people can answer Haul specific questions and do links to items:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5407442-amazon-haul?page=5&reply=148727396

I’ve had some fantastic yoga stuff from Haul as well as acrylic storage for makeup. Amazon have put the Haul prices up recently but there are some good deals.

Does anyone remember the parkrun offer last year(I think it was?) on their id wristbands. I need one this year but nothing on the website. Wondering if it's worth holding on but I guess after Cyber Monday, unlikely to be offers

@XxTigerlilyxxthis is the cheese advent thing - it’s not a code

Yes it’s not a code. For me, I added something to the basket (not the calendar! It has to be something else) and then a pop-up window came up to say what I’d added to my basket with a couple of optional extras to add, which included the calendar at the discounted price. I think someone else it was there when they went to the basket page as an option to add it there.

lostmywayrightnow · 30/11/2025 10:02

I had some really bad problems with snackverse last year. Their customer service is terrible. A shame as the products are nice but I would check our reviews first. One off month gifts are way more expensive and I never got codes to work in those ( that was last year though).

Does anyone know if the b&m 2 for £20 toys have gone to 3 for £20 at all please?

AFAIK it runs the week before Christmas, up to Christmas Eve.

Yay @Reastie🎄

Has anyone spotted Pokemon cards anywhere? Nephew’s request but from what I can gather the adult collectors have gone a bit crazy and most places are out of stock. I have previously bought a little set (rather than loose packets) that was around £10 and was hoping for the same again!

My partner buys them from here. I know nothing about them so no idea if they are a good price etc I’m afraid! https://www.japan2uk.com/

Do you mean you can't get the freebies or you can't get them more than once? If it's an offer with multiple choices I use the same account and I can buy the same option multiple times. If it's one without any options (for example the 4 fragrance offer) I use a different account when I want to buy it again otherwise it glitches and won't let me. This link has all of the offers available if you want to sift through and see what is best. Let me know if you need any further help or anything else!

Thanks just got the festive gift set and free lip balm, nice addition to my sons nursery key workers gift as hes leaving for school end of January

Georgieporgie29 · 30/11/2025 10:22

@YouCanLetItGo just an add on to your pokemon post. I would check if your DN would be happy with the Japanese ones (I know my son would be but best to check). We have had success in Tesco, Asda, WH Smith, Smyths and B&M Bargain’s lately but unfortunately it is very hit and miss and you just have to hope they have them when you go in. At least with smyths you can check stock availability online.

FireandBrimstone · 30/11/2025 10:27

Thanks to @Arregaitheland @TeamToeBeans on the last thread re mint choc candles! Just catching up, these threads move so fast so apologies if I’ve missed other suggestions, will recap properly.

15% off gift vouchers for Alpaca and Llama walks in the Lake District, offer ends today. Vouchers valid for a year if you're planning a trip to the Lakes next year.

It's a very ethical rescue and offer walks, or just meet-the -alpaca sessions, at a couple of lovely locations. For adults and kids or just a solo treat! I've joined a couple of group walks at Lingholme nr Keswick, which involves a walk through down to Derwentwater where the alpacas enjoy a paddle.

@YouCanLetItGo For Pokémon cards, I swear by https://www.chaoscards.co.uk - you can buy individual cards so you can also get a few holo/shiny ones if you like. I have bought from them many times for my Pokémon card-collecting DC. If your nephew is a real enthusiast, then I wouldn't bother with the bundles you can get on the likes of Amazon and eBay, as they rarely have any "good" cards in them (so they're only worth getting when you're just starting a collection), and the sealed foiled packets are more expensive.

Seeing the new theme.I went to a local garden centre yesterday (Famous for its seasonal displays I became a 60 something going on 6! ) Anyway in the farm shop they had some wax covered, strong Cheddar called 'Old Hag'. I couldn't resist and can confirm it's delicious. As a cheese lover and someone who doesn't mind a joke about my age (I call my railcard my 'Old Dears' pass) I would be happy to get some in my Christmas stocking.

Once again thank you for keeping these lovely threads going. Spotted this one just after I had clicked on one of the most horrid anti-Christmas threads I have read for a long time about 'stopping crap buying' etc. Am off now to start the Christmas decs, lots of 'tat', sweet memories and endless pleasure. Wish you all the same.

I can't remember who was asking about the sugar free coffee syrups, but the ones linked on the last thread weren't actually sugar free. Went to TKMaxx yesterday and they had a set of three big bottles for £4.50 which was an absolute bargain.

Oh gosh that was me, I had a nightmare with links yesterday! They definitely do sugar free ones in their range though.

We did an alpaca walk here a couple of years ago. It was expensive but lovely and we still reminisce about it now. I would recommend

Hey,
I signed up to the subscription last year for DS19. There was a decent offer for the medium sized box (the one you get a drink with). I've found it very easy & mostly impressed with contents every month. The 1st month (Australia) was the best, & the others were mainly Europe (Greece was quite unexciting) although we had Canada too.

Disappointed we didn't get Japan as DS though that would be good, although it could have been within the year as I ended up cancelling after 8 months. Didn't really mean to, but had to get a new bank account (fraud!) & they couldn't access payment. They emailed me but I was too busy to bother setting it all up again.

You can definitely cancel whenever you like.
