Thread 13 - the one with a cheesy advent calendar of 67 jumpers

Decided to combine both thread title suggestions :)

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for helping me out and I'm so excited that I was on my computer and she tagged me so I could set this one up - hurrah!

Feeling super festive today after getting the decorations up and visiting Father Christmas. Exciting news is the Christmas bedding and jumpers are all down from the loft and being washed, so I'll soon be able to walk around in my 'I [heart] Christmas' jumper Xmas Grin

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.
Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!
As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

@begonia27 ahhh now I want to buy one. If anyone sees the link or original post please can I ask you to share it again

Whoevenarethey · 01/12/2025 16:09

Thanks for the Fahlo updates. I might email them too as also ordered on 25th and no updates since.
Also 'won' a bracelet today with the £9.95 postage. In fact I am bombarded with emails from them daily which is quite annoying especially as none of them are about my order!

I can’t quite believe I am writing this but anyone wishing to provide their cat with a Jadvent experience, Ocado have Webbox advent calendars reduced to £1.

(I got our previously purchased ones out from my wardrobe last night, and was awoken in the night by a cat trying to get into one so can confirm they are good!)

I didn't see the original post but we went here for a meet the alpacas morning recently, not sure if it's the same place but may help? Alpaca Bird Nesting Material

Alpaca Bird Nesting Material

Alpaca fleece is ideal for nesting material as it wicks water when wet and quickly dries as well as being super warm and cosy for the nests.

I’ve been given a secret Santa for someone who likes baking. Budget is £10. Any ideas?

A National Trust recipe book?

My girls would love one but many years ago I got one for the dog. He then spent the whole of January looking for it and wondering where his daily treat had gone. My little cat is always searching out treats and is very vocal about it so I’m giving it a miss this year!

It was this one but I’m all for spreading the support amongst all the alpacas!! http://www.alpacaproducts.co.uk/

I ordered from here at 4:30pm today and have already had an email to say my order has been shipped!

BeckySharpest · 01/12/2025 17:01

I have an alpaca guinea pig from last year, and the fur comes in a really good bird feeder too. Although bizarrely the bulk of the fur from last year is still in the feeder now, but the stuff I got from another farm the year before all went within a month. Perhaps the local bird population had already pimped their nests.

@AndSoFinally they’re like a supersoft sweatshirt on the outside and polyester on the inside. He’s currently wearing them otherwise I’d upload a pic.

He suffers with crippling anxiety and rarely leaves the house so spends a lot of time in them!

Does anyone know how to get any deals at Vue cinema or McDonalds?
Ive promised a Christmas trip but had an unexpected expense (kitchen ceiling fell down after a bathroom leak 🙈) and want to see if there’s any way I can get it a bit cheaper before I have to cancel

Do you have any McDonald’s points?

weebarra · 01/12/2025 17:15

Just had my Anthropologie jammies cancelled. They’re offering me a 10% discount as an apology.

I’d be happy to send you our 2 free tickets from Sky for December if it would help? Has to be a Sunday to Thursday trip though…

How kind.

I've been with Sky for about a trillion years, yet don't know this! How do I claim them if you don't mind explaining?

HeadOfGregor · 01/12/2025 17:37

I'd recommend emailingFahlo if your order hasn't been dispatched
I've just had a very confusing email exchange with "Miles the Manatee" who couldn't find my order so passed the enquiry to a human. Within 15 minutes I had a dispatch email

VikingNorthUtsire · 01/12/2025 17:50

Has anyone seen any bargains that would make a suitable secret Santa for an unknown teenage boy please? Can't be clothing unfortunately unless it's one size fits all.

You need to be subscribed to the movie channels package. If you are then download the MySky app, login, go to the VIP bit and keep scrolling down til you get to the Vue offer.

daisyboo1 · 01/12/2025 17:54

Thanks @keepincool Purchased with the member discount. Excellent value and another present sorted.

TheCrow · 01/12/2025 18:01

Does anyone know if WH smiths are likely to have any reductions on their wrapping paper before christmas? Can't bring myself to pay £4 for a 3m roll! It's currently on 3 for 2 but hoping for money off

Contribution is these white glo flavored toothpastes in home bargains for 99p. They had the whitening ones as well for much less than RRP

Was just coming on to say this too - need Sky cinema and the app works best, says tickets are limited but we’ve never had a problem getting the codes

Ah, that'll be why, no movie channels here. We have Netflix & Disney + instead.

O2 priority has vue tickets

4 for £18 or two for £9 plus 20% off treats

On a related note. Has anyone seen any reduced dog calendars? DDog has one for today onwards but I am sure he’d like to do Jadvent too!

What is the budget? Our teenage boys always really liked Zara After Shave. I don't know much about these things but I think they are supposed to be dupes of the more expensive ones. It has now become a tradition and they still expect them in their stocking even although they are adults now. Prices start about £15.
