Thread 13 - the one with a cheesy advent calendar of 67 jumpers

1000 replies

Reastie · 29/11/2025 20:25

Decided to combine both thread title suggestions :)

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for helping me out and I'm so excited that I was on my computer and she tagged me so I could set this one up - hurrah!

Feeling super festive today after getting the decorations up and visiting Father Christmas. Exciting news is the Christmas bedding and jumpers are all down from the loft and being washed, so I'll soon be able to walk around in my 'I [heart] Christmas' jumper Xmas Grin

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.
Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!
As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

Anyone still waiting for Fahlo bracelets?

oatmilkisntsobad · 01/12/2025 12:10

Did anyone else get an email from Fahlo saying they’ve won a free bracelet? I bought 3 bracelets a week ago (not yet dispatched) and now I get this email saying I have won a free one of my choosing and I thought whooohooo! I just have to pay the p&p which is……£9.98! Hmmmm not such a win is it?

Arregaithel · 01/12/2025 12:11

Cuwins · 01/12/2025 11:18

Thanks. Mum has poor circulation in her fingers so not sure fingerless would help

would these Heat Holders help? I do notice in the reviews though that they're quite big also thick.

Alternatively, maybe hand warmers would also be suitable

eta; these silver lined gloves are even suitable for someone with Raynauds

CarrotVan · 01/12/2025 12:27

@zacsGranny I’ve had a dispatch email for an order made early last week

@oatmilkisntsobad I had the same offer and yes it is rubbish

EvilHerbivore · 01/12/2025 12:27

Does anyone know how to get any deals at Vue cinema or McDonalds?
Ive promised a Christmas trip but had an unexpected expense (kitchen ceiling fell down after a bathroom leak 🙈) and want to see if there’s any way I can get it a bit cheaper before I have to cancel

hiredandsqueak · 01/12/2025 12:38

For cinema you can get 2 for 1 at compare the market by buying 1 day's travel insurance. 2 free tickets a month if you have Sky and 2 for £9 and 4 for £18 if you are on O2

you can get 4 tickets at Odeon if you're on Vodafone

HeartandSeoul · 01/12/2025 12:42

Sorry if this has already been posted and I’ve missed it, but I just had an email from Moonpig, reminding me it is the last day for free postage (using code POSTFREE). They currently have an offer of buying 5 cards with 50% off, and I’ve just bought 5 birthday and Christmas cards for £8.

I normally end up spending a £4-£5 on a personalised card for birthdays (I have a habit of leaving card buying until the last minute, or I forget, and Moonpig has definitely helped me out a fair bit over the years!), so it’s a good offer.

IsThisLifeNow · 01/12/2025 12:43

Still waiting on my cheese being dispatched, and 2 seperate fahlo orders. Yes I got the free bracelet text with the Expensive postage. Rather quite makes it pointless!

Yeknom · 01/12/2025 12:01

Anyone had any dispatch info on the cheese advent calendars 👀??

No and it was supposed to be delivered today!

Yep!

BarryKentPoet · 01/12/2025 12:52

No offer for a free bracelet here though :(

Yeknom · 01/12/2025 12:55

Yes @BarryKentPoet- I picked today too, I thought it would be cutting it fine but even some time this week would be nice :)

Celtic and Co do lovely lsmbswool gloves . Full finger or fingerless. I’ve bought the men’s before for DH and they’re warm. Eyeing up some for myself.

They’re fair isle and £32 plus delivery but code XMAS25 is still
working to take £20 off full price items (not the recycled cashmere though for some reason)

Thank you

Anyone still waiting for Fahlo bracelets?

Yes! I haven't heard anything since my order confirmation email of 25th Nov. I need them by 13th December for early Christmas get together so hoping it won't be too long. Also waiting on Dean's shortbread hamper and a Lakrids order which was apparently shipped on the 26th Nov.

In other news my Elizabeth Scarlett Jarrolds goodie bag arrived today - if anyone wants a ES washbag it is a good option at £60 - I got it for loyalty price at £50, but people who sign up to their loyalty club might get a money off voucher:

I’ve been given a secret Santa for someone who likes baking. Budget is £10. Any ideas?

If you buy any item in McDonalds and receive the receipt there is a code for feedback. Fill that in online, click the option that says to receive the code on screen at the end of the survey and you will be able to buy a ‘adult size/Type burger and medium fries for £2.99. This is best done in advance so you’re not fiddling around whilst waiting to order. Just buy the cheapest item (I sometimes get a drink). Burger is Big Mac/chicken burger type burger. To use the code make sure you’re not logged into the app as their system likes to reject the code but order as a guest (in store) and it works fine either with QR code or Letter/number code.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 01/12/2025 13:12

@EvilHerbivore o2 do Vue tickets cheap if you are with them (or know someone who is)

Hollyjollynights · 01/12/2025 13:15

Lindt have an advent calendar, day one seems to be a discount code if it’s the same for everyone, worth looking at if you’ll be buying some anyway

Arregaithel · 01/12/2025 13:17

BarryKentPoet · 01/12/2025 12:49

No and it was supposed to be delivered today!

this seems to be an historical, overwhelm problem with this company, sadly.

You could try e-mailing customer service with your order number; mailorders@chucklingcheese?

Anyone got any recommendations for a potion kit? Can be outdoor or bath based but something they’ll really love? Children are 5 & 9. TIA

@fruitfly3https://www.hoodedowls.co.uk/collections/potion-kits - I haven’t bought the potion kits (just their towels which are lovely) but planning to get one of these for DD

Yep still waiting and also got the you've won a free one email with ridiculous postage prices!

GiddyDog · 01/12/2025 13:29

@zacsGranny I emailed Fahlo because there had been no updates and they refunded my order from the 25th. DH then decided to try again, placed an order on Saturday and it's been dispatched today 🤷‍♀️
