Was about to comment the same! I am looking for a gift for someone who loves baths so would like to know the answer please.

Molton Brown

FunnyOrca · 24/11/2025 21:55

Anything homemade from chutneys to paintings - it’s really special to me that someone made the effort and wanted to share their craft with me.
Chocolate
Stationery
House plants
Candles
Memberships for local institutions

me24x · 24/11/2025 22:00

notebook
spa/hair/nail voucher
fluffy socks
pictures
oh and wine, of course

MissBattleaxe · 24/11/2025 22:03

Bars of soap. TK Maxx is great for this. Bonus points if it comes in a pretty box I can use in the bathroom for cotton buds etc.

A couple of paperbacks

Perfume.

Candles or reed diffusers. I'm on a mission to find the best affordable ones.

A nice bottle of robust red wine. Malbec will do.

Any kind of lotion, hand or body.

IggyAce · 24/11/2025 22:05

Nuxe lip balm
nice soap
thick socks, especially loved the Nordic socks dh gave me a couple of years ago.

HangryBrickShark · 24/11/2025 22:05

Someone once bought be a set of Fox and Ivy mugs and a selection box of flavoured hot chocolate. It was a wonderful gift.

I love a Cumbrian brand called Bath House. It's not cheap, but it's a small company making lovely items and thinking carefully about the environment, not mass produced in a factory on the other side of the world.

Jugendstiel · 24/11/2025 22:12

fancy bath oils and gels
fluffy socks
a good book
a flowering plant like a cyclamen or Christmas cactus or amaryllis especially if it is in a nice pot
good quality scented candles
a beautiful notebook
a CD of music I love. I don't like streaming. Much prefer to put on a CD
nice mugs

usedtobeaylis · 24/11/2025 22:12

Books that someone has chosen for me themselves. It's been a few years now since anyone has done that as they either ask or give vouchers most of the time now but I'm always really touched when someone puts some thought into a book.

cityanalyst678 · 24/11/2025 22:14

I love gifts which I consider to be a luxury. So anything from Liberty hankies and Liberty Stationary, to gorgeous face creams and perfumes, or a beautiful item of clothing.

Frogs88 · 24/11/2025 22:27

Books, fancy coffee/teas, wine/ unusual flavours of gin, any food, art supplies, board games.

What do people consider nice bubble bath?

Neals yard, Molton brown, rituals, neom.

Gymbunny2025 · 24/11/2025 22:32

I’m realising I’m so difficult to buy for! Don’t want alcohol or food. Love bubble bath and candles but only decent brands like JM otherwise I won’t use it and feel guilty about that! Anything clothes, home or gym related I want to choose myself.

A good book, house plant, mug or vouchers are probably safest bets.

growinguptobreakingdown · 24/11/2025 22:32

Scented candle.I love the St Eval ones but any really.
Not books - I like to choose myself.
Pyjamas/ socks
Shower oil/ bath oil/ bath salts
A good nail varnish
A voucher for a spa treatment.
Any of those make me very happy.

Rainbow898 · 24/11/2025 22:33

Wax melts
Books
Pink fizz
Fluffy socks
Fluffy pjs
Posh chocolates
Nice hand cream
Slippers

So funny, the overlap between this thread and "stuff you dread receiving" thread!

Yup, my thinking exactly. Dove set would be up there on the list of things I don't want to receive. I use Dove deodorant and soap bar, but see it as everyday stuff not present material.

Have oven gloves been mentioned yet as a positive? Also on my negatives list.

Chocs, socks, calendars and bath and shower gel in fancier brands are yeses

teaandtoastwouldbenice · 24/11/2025 22:49

Perfume
gold (plated) necklace or hoops
hand cream - Loccotain
Rose shower gel in large bottle - body shop
scarf or gloves - if they’re my style
Mug if it’s pretty or le crueset not a jokey one
I’d quite like converse
Anything my arty DD makes me and the lovely cards her and DS write me. DS did a poem about how much I hate the snow one year and I love it!
if it’s food or treats I like plain old Cadbury’s

I don’t like candles or baylis and Harding type sets

GoldenTurnip · 24/11/2025 22:51

I love a voucher - book, John Lewis or Space NK ideally.
Sparkly socks
A hyacinth bulb in a nice pot
A bottle of fizz

Generally though, I do like to choose and have it wrapped up. Luckily I'm at the stage where the people I exchange gifts with are all on the same page - though DH likes a surprise!

I’m kind of the same really.
im really particular about what I bring in, I don’t really receive presents though other than from dh and dc so its usually okay!
The dds are very sweet and make me a stocking of largely consumables, nice chocolates, boozy minis, candles and socks, nice hand creams, face masks, hair claw clips, stuff that will be useful, quickly used and also shared with them 😂

I treat myself regularly to things I really want so basically have anything I want/need. If anyone’s looking to fund my next holiday then great, if not please save your cash and spend it on your own family and enjoy Christmas 😊

Crispynoodle · 24/11/2025 22:54

My bff gets me an audible voucher which is my favourite and I get her a boots voucher which is her fave!

NormasArse · 24/11/2025 23:00

Leonidis chocolates especially the white chocolate strawberry and rhubarb flavoured ones.
A photo frame with a photo of my DGC in.
Cream tea voucher.
Stargazer lillies.
Lego flowers.
My favourite perfume.
I really like it if any of my DC wants to take me for a breakfast or a lunch with just the 2 of us so we can have a good catch up.
