With the Sainsbury bargain gammon, any idea what the dates are on them? They are usually pretty long but I know I don’t have freezer space.

If I had the chance to buy a bargain gammon I would eat something in the freezer to make room for it

I don't. I can tell you on Sat (the offer is on until 9 Dec).

The local house that goes completely OTT with decorations (and that all locals enjoy visiting) has started decorating. It's quite the event on the local fb group

I think our tree will be going up the first weekend in December. Will probably do it over both days so LO can help and hopefully that will reduce the overwhelm he struggled with last year.

Am also looking at my calendar in work for the next few weeks and struggling to find 2 days to book off. I'm starting the usual stress feeling of too much to do and too little time so I want work and child free time to do a few bits around the house, order/collect the final presents and maybe do some wrapping if the 2nd day off is after my tree is up.

I have a mountain of parcels I need to open and sort. But not actually able to, so they’ll have to wait a bit longer. But they are making me and in association dh a bit stressed!

I'm probably going to Sainsburys today. Will take a.look because I have made a gammon shaped.hole.in the freezer ready for it.

I don't think the gammon is reduced until the Nectar offers refresh this week, which is either tomorrow or Weds.

Bloody 🥶 here today. Car-scraping cold! The dog and I had a chilly old walk / run. 🐕

I had car scraping this morning too, we had our new carpets fitted this weekend - I am putting my tree (only my tree) up tonight!

You're right @NoWordForFluffy no gammon offers yet. But the leg of.lamb and half leg was nearly cleaned out at my local Sainsburys.

Are we all on reduced gammon alert?

So far since finishing work I've watched a very cheesy CCF (with the same actors as the last one I watched!) and I'm now on Polar Express. Plus we had mince pies for dinner and I'm drinking Baileys. Christmas is definitely here!

I’ve bought a lot of presents today. Gin, books all sorts. Thank goodness for Amazon, or bugger, Amazon.

I am definitely in the blocks for sending dh to track down gammon bargains. I’ll boil mine in fruity cider before finishing it off with brown sugar and marmalade I think. We find the gammon is more popular with the kids than the turkey. Gammon egg and chips over the festive period is now a tradition!

I hope the countdown is right - think we lost it yesterday in the gammon excitement.

I'm at a school today near a Sainsburys so I'll do a gammon mission. I'm doing the Nigel Slater one but my quince jelly overset and I've got gallons of the stuff so if anyone wants any quince jelly that needs a chisel you know who to ask.

There was definitely no reduced gammon in our Sainsbury’s yesterday as I collected LOs main present from Argos around 8pm and had a look.
lots of empty spaces everywhere though, as though they were expecting a delivery….

Also I combined the Argos trip with another to collect something else so drove for approx 15 minutes in 2 different directions. Counted 7 decorated houses, 2 of which had OTT lights and figures etc set up in their gardens.

Fur we got rid of Amazon earlier this year and I haven’t missed it at all until starting the Christmas shopping…

Spent last night peeling my pickled onions to leave salting overnight. Will do the actual pickling after work today.
Im planning to go to bed after that though as LO was awake for an hour at 4:45 and I haven’t been able to nod back off. 😩 I miss sleep!
