It's nearly time! November is tomorrow and Mariah Carey will be officially announcing the start of festivities . Hope you're all well and just wanted to give you all a massive thank you so sharing these wonderful ideas and codes etc. It helps me SO MUCH. I know I don't post much on here (various things going on) but I appreciate this warm place of mn so much.

Start Fitness are local to me with their real life shops and I've also shopped online. They are great. I believe their business model is bulk buying previous seasons' stock from manufacturers which is why they are so cheap.
They are staffed by runners in-store and their own brand More Mile is good quality too.

Hi, to those still on the fence about Deans - my twopenneth is that last year’s offering - with several very pretty tins and more biscuits - was better than this year’s offer.

With regards to taste:

Everyone at our house disliked both the cheesy and the chilli bites and the plain shortbread was dry and not very nice. Perhaps we were just unlucky.

We did really like the apple/cinnamon biscuits and the raspberry ones. The chocolate ones were ok.

Everything was well-within date, but some of the tins were bashed and the box took ages to arrive.

I know loads of people really love Deans and we did like last year’s box overall, but I am not tempted by this year’s offer. For me, the big draw was the pretty boxes - especially the Xmas ones but they are lacking this year.

I am wondering if they might do a better box before Xmas.

Yes they do - I got loads last year.

Also 2024 Black Friday offer at Uniqlo was a free water bottle if you spent £100, I braved the shops and went real life shopping last year and got a lilac one, it was a random colour!

My Deans hamper arrived. Mostly shortbread fingers and petticoat tails, but I got 2 tins (undented).
I love shortbread so I’m happy (it’s mostly all for me!!); I’m going to take the bites into work.

Amazon have a red arrows 2026 calendar down to £8 - much cheaper than we have see from the calendar shops etc usually

Yankee candle have this large candle down to £14.99 when you join also a free votive candle of your choice

My advice on the Dean's shortbread, for the shortbread connoisseur like myself (I may have had one or two shortbreads in my time....) the all butter shortbread is nicer than the shortbread with margarine in. The oven tin and the shortbread finger tin are all butter and should be nicer than the shortbread McGonks, for example.
