This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

It's nearly time! November is tomorrow and Mariah Carey will be officially announcing the start of festivities Grin . Hope you're all well and just wanted to give you all a massive thank you so sharing these wonderful ideas and codes etc. It helps me SO MUCH. I know I don't post much on here (various things going on) but I appreciate this warm place of mn so much.

I’ve had an interesting morning.
went to boots and they had 25% off perfume and aftershave. I bought DH some Hugo boss at £46.60 and da some Jean Paul gautier blue for £76.

a couple of shops up was beauty base went in (never been in before) and they had the same Hugo boss for £22 and £36 for the Jean Paul.
so I took them back to boots and got a refund!

They had these pyjamas in M&S this morning if this is the ‘bales’ ones a pp was looking for?

Hi lovely wise Mumsnetters
I am after some tips….. last year someone suggested little ones making snowmen wrappers for chocolate bars and my little one had great fun colouring and sticking to do them…..I wondered if anyone had any similar ideas for a three year old to easily craft to make a token present ?

I need multiples so nothing that she will do one and be bored and not do anymore.

I have thought of salt dough tree decorations but the chocolate was good last year as they got something to enjoy.

Any ideas welcome……

I've done the snowmen with a bar of chocolate then a pair of fluffy socks as a hat.

You can do Reindeer too with a lovely soap and a brown flannel then stick on eyes and brown pipe cleaners for antlers.

nothingtoseehereatall · 03/11/2025 14:39

If you live near a Cass Art store, they've got a IRL shopping event on Friday with 20% off everything all day. Good for craft type gifts as well as more fine art ones. Usually have good kids stuff.

My aunt would like some wool/yarn to finger knit a blanket - all the tutorials I can find are in US skeins and brands - any idea which wool is suitable, how many grams and where from?

JontyGentoo · 03/11/2025 14:49

Sorry I thought I posted a shortened link but clearly not 😬 🤦🏻‍♀️

NEOM Wellbeing pod mini & essential oil is £50 instead of £70 on QVC https://www.qvcuk.com/neom-wellbeing-pod-mini-%26-essential-oil-10ml.product.255667.html?sc=NSCP

Also there is a wellbeing pod with more oils (maybe the pod is bigger) for £108 instead of £145 https://www.qvcuk.com/neom-wellbeing-pod-%26-essential-oils-trio-collection.product.254277.html?sc=NSCP
I don't even know what this is but I think people were talking about NEOM on a previous thread! Have a look upthread as someone posted a code for new customers to get £5 off.

[ETA link to bigger pod too]

My horse box have riding socks in their sale for £2 -3 great for anyone buying for equestrian https://www.myhorsebox.com/shop/clearance

Thank you very much for this. Postage appears to be free over £20.

They also have hoodies, t shirts and equestrian white gloves reduced to £10.

There’s only one left in stock on many items so it may be sensible to buy quickly if you are going to buy. I had never heard of this company before so it may be worth reading the Trustpilot reviews and make your own mind up.

My Ravelry search capabilities are failing me here, but if you tell me the US version or which tutorial I can find some similar yarns which are available here, and how much you’d need.

What sort of blanket - eg baby, double bed size - is she thinking of?

NotMeekNotObedient · 03/11/2025 15:09

Tkmaxx have some Pecksniffs handcare caddy sets reduced to £6.50 on their website. RRP is £20 but look like Pecksniffs have a deal on for 20% off themselves. Still think a good deal. Got one for a friend who's due a baby just after Xmas as I know she'll be washing her hands lots. Might make nice teacher gifts? Click and collect is £1.99 under £50.

Is there a way to search this post for something, or do we need to read every single post?

Sorry, if this has already been posted this weekend.....Hotel Chocolate have 20% the Christmas range for VIP members (you can join as VIP online or in store today) until 23.59 tonight. Free delivery over £60. I did go through topcashback but I don't know if I will get anything.

I have been undecisive on the hot chocolate advent calendars, but the discount persuaded me to put an order through today! We enjoy the different flavours of Whittard hot chocolate, but they have limited flavours in the advent calendar. We normally have the individual chocolate advent calendars, but I thought I would do something different for my teenagers who love a hot cholate

Each satchet is 30g - in my family this is 2 servings as we only used 15g in a hot chocolate. The original velvitiser is a branded Dualit milk frother so you don't need to have the expensive hotel chocolate velvitiser,

This sort of thing. It looks more like hand knitting than finger knitting (but not arm knitting!)

15% off for members at h&m
Does anyone know when they have black Friday and how much you can normally get off?

Thelifeofawife · 03/11/2025 16:34

@keepincool @Thesoundofscience Sorry the referral code doesn’t work, I was of the impression it would work for anything not just certain items.
I hope you managed to use the £5 new user discount at least x

Thesoundofscience · 03/11/2025 16:56

@keepincool Thanks for the Wordsworth and Black recommendation. I have gone for the gift set which includes an ink pot, extra nibs and cartridges as the recipient didn’t know whether they wanted cartridges or ink. It had a £5 off voucher too.

No worries Thelifeofawife. Still a good deal 😊

Wowsersbrowsers · 03/11/2025 16:58

@TheRelevantTrumpeter that looks so much fun! They sell bernat big at the wool warehouse which is a UK based indie business - if you message them and ask I'm sure they could point you in the right direction.

Looks like you need anything recommending a 25mm hook so bernat big, cygnet flumpy, or the mega chunky stuff that washes horribly and gets everywhere but comes in kilo balls (don't do that one, please). I make each skein 300g so you'd need about £80 of wool for that pattern.

It's not a problem at all, I really don't need any more toiletries, I'm just being greedy 😁. I have passed the info on to a colleague though, as I know she used to use Elemis but it got a bit to expensive for her. She's happy with fiver off the set.

Elphaba17 · 03/11/2025 17:45

The referral codes from QVC can take up to 24 hours to activate apparently.

I’ve caved and bought a set using a code found on HUKD - WELL10 made the set £59.96 delivered which is too good to pass up.

Wowsersbrowsers Gosh thank you - I don't get wool so the needle size think was lost on me - super chunky wool seems to include all from 8mm to 25mm. The pattern uses 6 balls of 300 so it's £70 which is quite a lot. I'm guessing black Friday isn't really a thing?

2025istheyeari · 03/11/2025 18:05

Thanks @Elphaba17that's brilliant, have just bought using that too!

Thanks for this I think there’s a few here she would like! She’s Sephora mad atm but that one is a bit pricey so I’ll have a look through the others 🥰

My SIL was in Sephora at the weekend and was chatting about the advent calendar. They said it was selling really slowly this year and if it carried on they'd have to put a good discount on in the Jan sales. Would have to be a huge discount for me to indulge but it might be worth watching out for.
