This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Hope you're all well. I've just put in a big Temu order for stocking bits and bits for work. They gave me £8 off my next order yesterday as two orders I had are arriving late and, when I contacted customer services about something, they also gave me a 20% off voucher, so I saved £20 on my order!

This PLouise Christmas magazine and hand cream is FREE (usually £9.95) when you order anything from PLouise - it automatically gets added to basket.

I ordered DD a body scrub that was in the sale for £5 then used the code MOBILE15 which gave me a further 75p off.

£3 standard shipping

This looks a great offer. What age would you say PLousie is for?

Unless she wants one! I was very disappointed as I'd asked for a household item last year. DH bought me lots of other things which were nice but I didn't want because he was too embarrassed to give his wife a household item. He had actually bought it but had them hidden in the back room to give to me after. I was so cross until I found out.

I love a practical present if I've asked for one but a random frying pan not so sure. My reaction would be the same as DMiL's he'd be wearing it!

I have never bought they products before but looking at them I’d say they are popular with teens, I bought the body scrub for my DD who’s younger but she loves bath bombs bath scrubs lip balms etc! X

Yes, if you’ve asked and been specific it’s ok. I’ve had le creuset for Christmas as it’s spendy. We do something you want / need / wear / read every year for dh, me and the kids. It works so well and the need invariably is practical! I’m thinking of the hot chocolate frother as ds1 need as he drinks a lot of milkshakes and hot chocolates. My need might be a very specific tool for my hobby.

Advice my DFiL gave my DH on our wedding day 40 years ago:
'Never buy your wife a frying pan for Christmas'
He spoke from experience...😄
(Men of Britain take note - applies to potato peelers and all household appliances.)

I've asked DH for an in-oven meat thermometer and a good roasting tin for my birthday! 😬🤣

FurForksSake · 18/10/2025 12:02

@NoWordForFluffy the ikea stainless steel roasting pans are excellent if you need a recommendation!

Arregaithel · 18/10/2025 12:27

@HoneyPea

recommended previously by MN'ers, also DH Gate (but they may be an American site?)

MerylSqueak · 18/10/2025 12:39

Can anyone recommend a furry/ soft duvet set something like this? DD has asked for one. She's a real coldy cat and wants something warm and soft. She already has jersey. I think they would be uncomfortable to sleep in and not wash well so I would really like to know how others have found them.

I’ve just had delivered 2 children’s kits FB4U and although the delivery is a few weeks the kits are very good quality and very good replicas.

Those that ordered the cheap ladies jumpers from Amazon - did anyone receive them?
My delivery date has been put back twice and it's now saying my parcel may be lost!
The men's orders were cancelled. now the ladies not arriving.
I'm surprised Amazon allow this to happen.
Has anyone complained?

Anyone that bought the Biscuiteers box that got cancelled, I just checked my direct debits and my payment to them is listed as a subscription. I have blocked this now but it might be worth checking.

They seem like an absolute nightmare. I never bought and never subscribed ro anything yet somehow they keep spamming me with emails. I keep having to unsubscribe with the reason 'I never subscribed in the first place' from their drop down list. And still the emails come.

Thanks to whoever recommended pintail candles BTW. The ones I fancied weren't in stock but found someone selling exactly the ones I was after on vinted. They have just arrived and are brilliant.

HeatingFiddler · 18/10/2025 13:21

@MerylSqueak

I have these at my house (the throws), a £60 one is about big enough to just cover a small double. They're incredibly snuggly and warm.

Added bonus they're washing machine and tumble-drier safe.

I've just complained to Amazon about mine. I think Amazon are footing the cost of refunding so I'd say it was a scam by the merchant

Interesting. Was wondering whether to just claim my refund, or give it a bit longer as I had a dispatch notification and a tracking number.
Did you speak to Customer Services or just press the refund button?

Does anyone has an argos code please? Going to be a £200 plus spend. Thanks

EvilHerbivore · 18/10/2025 14:54

Received this email from The Bottled Baking Company
I also used Craven10 as a code and it took some money off

Does anyone know where I can purchase some wide calf socks for an older woman? I've previously bought from Sockshop and they were great, but were lightweight. She would like wool or Nordic style, something "wintery" and I'm a bit stumped where to look. Any suggestions welcome please!
