This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Hope you're all well. I've just put in a big Temu order for stocking bits and bits for work. They gave me £8 off my next order yesterday as two orders I had are arriving late and, when I contacted customer services about something, they also gave me a 20% off voucher, so I saved £20 on my order!

Im thinking of getting some Korean snacks and sweets in for a hamper for my kpop mad dd.
Google is a minefield, not sure what site to trust, can anyone help please of the best place to order?
Or any supermarkets maybe?

I’d honestly just recommend googling your nearest Asian supermarket and having a look there. Less likely to be stung with overpricing. Otherwise trawl the world food aisles at the supermarkets as they tend to have some decent stuff in.

Real life shopping in tK maxx today. This set is £38. I thought it might make a nice gift.

Has anyone got an HMV unidays code they wouldn’t mind sending me please? Can reciprocate with BLC! Thanks

Is it for 10% off you’re looking for? If so I have it 😊

Mytribeof3 · 10/10/2025 14:29

I haven’t managed to catch up on the thread yet so not sure if it’s been posted but there’s some good offers on Factory Seconds at The Chocolate Society online. The dates are mostly end Oct 25 / November 25 so may not work for Christmas gifts but could be good for those with birthdays coming up. In my experience they taste great well beyond the best before dates if you’re buying for a treat for yourself!

hby9628 · 10/10/2025 14:32

Also tkmaxx….£6.99. Showing as 9.99 at boots. Comes in a cute lip shaped tin!

We have a couple of Oseyo stores where I am - they seem to be quite popular.

Edited to add that my link didn't seem to work - but there are a few in the UK

The Echo Pop is on sale for half price, plus you can add an Alexa-controlled plug (great for Xmas tree lights) for an extra fiver.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/echo-pop/dp/B09WX6QD65?ref=dlx_deals_dg_dcl_B09WX6QD65_dt_sl14_ed_pi&pf_rd_r=QJ6Y7FJ8ATVHC3SRSYS7&pf_rd_p=70596709-dbae-4187-bbee-db615dd31eed&th=1

Edited

The echo dot is also on sale, its a fiver more, but better features apparently, so 45% off, £29.99 instead of £54.99. Still got the £5 smart plug offer too.

Echo Dot (Newest gen) | Big vibrant sound Wi-Fi and Bluetooth smart speaker with Alexa | Charcoal : Amazon.co.uk: Amazon Devices & Accessories

This is me officially starting my Christmas shopping with glasses cloths, bedding from Asda, Hollies Lollies and an echo dot all thanks to these threads, so thank you muchly to everyone!

my top tip for wrapping paper is TK Maxx if you have one nearby. They do huge rolls that are lovely quality, really thick. I stocked up a few years ago so I have to resist when I go in store now as I still have loads left the rolls are that long

WannaBeOrganised · 10/10/2025 16:02

Has anyone touched any Asda Christmas PJs in real life? Im looking for some silky fleece ones, like the sainsburys/tu ones, but I cant get to an Asda store to feel them. I also prefer the Asda patterns this year, usually love the Sainsbury's ones.

Just tried to get a code up for you but they must have got it so that I can only link it to my HMV account, doesn’t give an actual code. So sorry 😔

It's a little hit and miss, as their patterns can be a bit zany, but the stuff I've had from tkmaxx has been excellent and always has those cutting grids on the reverse. It's the one thing I usually end up buying whenever I go in.

Houseofsardines · 10/10/2025 16:48

@Ilovechristmasfalalalalalala I’m not sure what sort of snacks you are looking for, but my eldest is Korea obsessed thanks to Korean Englishman on you tube, so can recommend-
-topokki in a cup (like super noodles but rice cakes) buy from Ocado or larger Sainsbury’s, -ramune drink- you pop a marble inside the bottle (don’t worry can’t get the marble out or into the drink) they now sell these in Tesco, (they aren’t Korean but very popular in Korea) -Crispy seaweed in larger Tesco’s. Kimchi noodles- big Tesco’s.

  • Peppero which are like choc covered pretzel sticks, and Orion choco boy biscuit's also can be found in most large Tesco/sainsbrys. - Waitrose have sosu range - meal kits like bibimbap. Hope that helps.

Just a reminder to select the option to make sure an item arrives in packaging whilst shopping with Amazon. I’ve just had 2 advent calendars delivered- 1 in a box and 1 not. Problem with the 1 not in a box is that it’s got a super 3 x annoying stickers on it.

No problem, thanks for trying. The student beans one needed a referral too so no joy this time!! Amazing how it irks you to pay full price after a few years on these threads!

EvilHerbivore · 10/10/2025 17:11

Thank you to whoever mentioned Holland and Barrett - got this lip balm/hand cream kit for £6.59 using the app for 20% off and the code ‘save’
The kit that’s very similar is £16 on Amazon
