This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Hope you're all well. I've just put in a big Temu order for stocking bits and bits for work. They gave me £8 off my next order yesterday as two orders I had are arriving late and, when I contacted customer services about something, they also gave me a 20% off voucher, so I saved £20 on my order!

DD1 is 5 and just getting into K-pop Demon Hunters. Any good recommendations for merch suitable for a 5/6 year old please?

@Jessiebessie I’m going to ask a dumb question, do you put cold milk in the Salter or already heated milk? Thanks

Yes, we've only used it so far for hot chocolate, we've put in semi skimmed cold milk from the fridge & hot chocolate flakes & it whizzes it round, heats it up & makes it frothy. It says you can make iced coffee with it too but we haven't tried that yet!

TK Maxx have a Disney Stitch Advent Calendar for £6.99. Cheapest I've seen it. Quite annoyed actually as I bought one for £10 from The Works thinking that was a reasonable price.

Does anyone know how cheap the Barbie dreamhouse can go? It's currently £150 on smyths. Thank you

It went down to £129 on Amazon during Prime Day deals this month as I bought one. The cheapest I've seen it elsewhere is £149, it might go down again during Black Friday deals 🤞🏻

Hello!
I am looking for a token gift for a 4 year old girl please. Price up to £10 (but looks worth more!) She likes dolls and is a typical girly girl.
Thank you!

Amazon have a selection of Disney Princess dolls for around £7. My little one is nearly four and loves these and Barbie dolls. I can’t do a link on the app but if you put in Mattel Disney Princess Dolls
it should come up with them. You could add a Princess colouring book or hair band or socks to make up the money to £10 and it would look a lot more. You can usually get princess socks for little ones in Home Bargains / Poundland your shops or Primark.

Whistlefish have 15 Christmas cards for £10 this weekend- lovely quality and other cards and gifts available. Various links on the referral thread for £5 off your first order

PerformativeBewilderment · 18/10/2025 08:26

@Delahot assuming she’s moving herself (ie covering her own shipping costs rather than a corporate paid move where you take anything you like) she may prefer something very small and useful rather than beautiful! A PP a few pages back recommended the Music Room (for crackers) with notebooks that might work?

Alternatively, if she’s going somewhere you can buy online with minimal hassle, you may find a membership for a local arts or music venue? That way every time she visits, she will remember you.

Anyone that bought the Biscuiteers box that got cancelled, I just checked my direct debits and my payment to them is listed as a subscription. I have blocked this now but it might be worth checking.

I'm aware of how painfully boring this is, but I'm on the hunt for a new potato peeler and I thought if anyone would know of one, its you lovely lot. I don't know how many more battles against a potato I can lose 😪

I never received my refund. I had to report it to my bank, and my bank has refunded.
It's very unprofessional, they are obviously a scam company.

Bought a KitchenAid one in to maxx the other week. They had loads of peelers, scrapes silicon things, and ladles.

You could buy females to use the potato peelers?
🤣

can anyone recommend a small gift/keepsake for a much loved piano teacher who is leaving to move abroad please. Am a bit stumped!

Not helpful but if they are moving abroad, they won't want anything extra to pack.

Maybe a gift card to buy punch in the airport on the way?

SugarCookieMonster · 18/10/2025 10:10

Matalan have lots of Christmas and Halloween bits on sale. Lots of Costa themed gifts, Grinch etc. They also have 20% off Homewear that includes Christmas decorations.

There's also a banner advertising an offer with up to 25% off selected items with a certain spend. 15% off £35, 20% off £45 and 25% off £65 with code EXCLUSIVE. This seems to be mostly clothes and PJs.

AmazingBees · 18/10/2025 10:12

£10 off gruum with no minimum spend with this code: Menopause10

HoneyPea · 18/10/2025 10:24

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good websites to get cheaper but still good quality football strips? My 6 year old has a list of a few different strips he would like for Christmas.

Thank you for this, DD1 likes their sleep spray which I have now bought for shipping costs for her stocking!

Did anyone get the moonpig code to work?

Just hope any men looking for inspiration for gifts for their partners don’t see this thread and think potato peelers would make an ideal present…….

Advice my DFiL gave my DH on our wedding day 40 years ago:
'Never buy your wife a frying pan for Christmas'
He spoke from experience...😄

Unless she wants one! I was very disappointed as I'd asked for a household item last year. DH bought me lots of other things which were nice but I didn't want because he was too embarrassed to give his wife a household item. He had actually bought it but had them hidden in the back room to give to me after. I was so cross until I found out.
