Thread 6 - the one where things are getting organised

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Hope you're all well. I've just put in a big Temu order for stocking bits and bits for work. They gave me £8 off my next order yesterday as two orders I had are arriving late and, when I contacted customer services about something, they also gave me a 20% off voucher, so I saved £20 on my order!

mummydoris2006 · 15/10/2025 13:13

Oh silly little me, I totally misunderstood @InsectsMatter! Is it too late to cancel my plastic tat Christmas Wisteria decoration do you think? 😆

zacsGranny · 15/10/2025 11:28

Not sure if it's the same seller but I bought ladies Christmas tops mentioned on here. Were supposed to arrive yesterday, but didn't, then got a message to say delayed.
Now expected by 17 October

We’re sorry for the delay. If you have not received your package by 17 October, you can come back here the next day for a refund.

Ditto

Erm, I actually use my radoll cats hair sometimes to felt with (I also shit you not)

Here's a toadstool I made from him earlier.

I once told my cleaner about this and she made a small sick noise. (She's not a cat person)

Gosh the thread has taken a strange turn!

'The one with the plastic induced Christmas Hysteria'

Whatthecluckingcluck · 15/10/2025 13:28

I vote it is called “The women of Britain and their Christmas Hysteria” or “Murdered songbirds, free range earwigs and Cat hair felting”.

Right, back to the bargains, or should I say plastic tat, Amazon have the Fisher Price Little People Barbie little dream camper RV down to £22.99, which is very nearly half price

It's potentially plastic tat but I've just bought the Crocs Jibbitz advent calendar.
It's £44.99 on the website but BLC, free shipping and £5 off brought it down to £22.
I sincerely hope this fits dc2's criteria of "something different"!

I need help. DD isn't trendy and isn't arsed about fashion. However, she needs a decent sized cross body bag (needs to fit a phone and spare sanitary protection in), but I have no clue what's acceptable and what would be social suicide! Any ideas?

The new Uniqlo quilted one? Though might n r more grown woman trendy than teen trendy.

JellyRains · 15/10/2025 13:56

@Serenitesanta just checked my orders and I got a pink oodie off the last threads on Amazon last year- it was called ‘sienna’

Women of Britain.

I ask you to stop this Christmas hysteria - there is enough plastic tat and anxiety in the world without pointlessly creating more.

Hysteria?

Stick your misogynistic views up your arse.

Right Nintendo switch 2 with Pokemon.

Do I buy now at £429, or will I get a better price on Black Friday or will it be sold out?

(I already have a very account)

BoysBagsShoes · 15/10/2025 14:39

Good job the ‘Women of Britain’ are on this site, otherwise the rest of you would be getting nowt in your stockings!

nothingtoseehereatall · 15/10/2025 14:58

Booknooks (and miniatures) come up fairly often - I just got one I've had my eye on for ages from AliExpress. Plastic tat AND from China, it's the Mumsnet Hysterical Women double!

Except that it's not made of plastic, but hey. FWIW I also have no issue with buying booknooks and miniature kits from China because the companies that make them are Chinese (Rolife, CuteBee etc) - it's not like they are ripping off/ making rubbish versions of other stuff, it's really where the trend/ idea started. If you buy them from a nice indy shop in the UK that's lovely, but they will have got there from China...

So anyway - so this is the one I got. Bought this morning, it's already been shipped.

Glad you liked it, it’s definitely different 🤣

To whoever was asking about sheets of Christmas wrapping paper, my local Homesense had some in today. It’s 4 large sheets rolled up (so it looks like a usual roll but you can see its sheets rolled up) for £1.99. Nice and thick quality.

Same quandary here (Very have excluded gaming from the new customer offer now anyway).

I can get 6% off by buying a gift card through work, and I think that may be my best discount. But I'll be gutted if it does drop much and I already have it!

PumpkinSpicedTea · 15/10/2025 15:34

The versatile crab is £9.95

https://amzn.eu/d/90hAmCf

I must have viewed it before as it has come up on my page but I didn't buy it. 😂

FallingIntoAutumn · 15/10/2025 15:54

I’d be surprised if the switch 2 discounts heavily anywhere. Nintendo never really discount, even on older machines and games.
you might save £20 in an Argos £20 off £100 spend type deal, or you might risk them going out of stock - although given you can only get a couple of games I’m not sure how much Christmas rush there will be for one.
