@InsectsMatter I am so sorry that your misogynistic views means you think that only women are on these groups. Or by extension that it is only women whom could possibly suffer from hysteria.
The anxiety is must cause you to know that we existing must be extremely detrimental.
It also seems that you have not understood the reason for these groups, which is to support anybody who wishes to join, so that they don’t suffer the anxiety of the pressure that is placed on them when it comes to Christmas, birthdays or any other celebration that they might have in which gifting is a think. Not to create hysteria, which let’s be honest, we could all achieve just by watching the news and seeing just how heinous people truly can be to each other.
It is also clear that you have negated to actually review the thread and instead presumed that all that is discussed is “plastic tat”.
Whilst I am in no way going to say that “plastic tat” is not discussed or purchased, I would also say that multiple discussions are around alternative presents such as
- Heated blankets
- Perfume/ Aftershave
- Board Games
- Candle melting lamps
- Jumpers
- Sweets
I will not pretend that I have got the list of materials for each of the above mentioned items to ensure that there is no plastic in any of them. However by appearances, they are not plastic tat and purchases have been made for longevity or simply because they are tasty.
I do feel for you if our corner of Mumsnet causes you so much anxiety that you felt the only way you could counteract it was with a sexist plea to us all.
As such, and for your own wellbeing (as we wouldn’t wish to cause you anxiety), I feel it’s important for me to remind you that you do not need to look at this thread and you can unfollow it at any point.
Merry Christmas!
