This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Hope you're all well. I've just put in a big Temu order for stocking bits and bits for work. They gave me £8 off my next order yesterday as two orders I had are arriving late and, when I contacted customer services about something, they also gave me a 20% off voucher, so I saved £20 on my order!

I'm wondering why (and how), because it sounds like the points are then lost, not stolen! I can't work out the reason it's happening (not disputing it is, just I can't see any benefit to whomever is doing it).

I don’t know the technicalities! the helpline said it was a scam. I was just warning people to check.

Sorry, I'm just curious as I can understand bog standard theft, but not doing something which loses your points. Unless they're somehow them adopting your account giving them access to the points?

I imagine it's the scammers' response to the spending lock. Always one step ahead!

If anyone is looking for baby gifts the Elmer book and soft toy is down to £5.52 on Amazon, seems a good price

Thank you I have ordered that for a toddler I buy for!

These people Here there was a code on the cloths too not sure if that’s still working, but free postage regardless. One PP had an issue with darker images , but I just had my second order delivered and they were fine too luckily .

Mine arrived today and I was REALLY impressed. I’ll definitely use them again.

It’s happened to us recently - I think they spend the points, that’s how they’re disappearing.

Did your card number change though? That's what's happening to @Delahot. Bog standard theft I can get my head round (and is why they've introduced the locking of spending).

WannaBeOrganised · 15/10/2025 08:54

I just ordered 7 glasses cleaning cloths. Great little gifts!
Also the Elmer gift and the little soft toy rabbit (thanks to whoever added these). Some great little stocking fillers.

Now I need to add everything from the last couple of weeks to my spreadsheet to make sure I dont just keep buying for the sake of buying - thats no bargain!

Has the card no. changed so that points you earn go onto a card the thieves have? I don't use Nectar since Argos don't refund nectar points if you return items that were purchased with them (part of the reason I rarely shop at Argos now)

Whatthecluckingcluck · 15/10/2025 09:11

Not a bargain so much but I have just found that there is a “The Traitors” card game.
its £12.98 on Amazon but managed to get it from eBay for £11.99.
im actually using it for a birthday present but might be a nice little stocking filler.
I can’t link it but it’s from Ginger Fox Games.

Wowsersbrowsers · 15/10/2025 09:23

I think I'm pretty much done with Christmas shopping for the kids which is probably a personal best 😅

Just to note a few super seconds sites are still running. I got some lovely bits for very reasonable prices.

Sleeposaurus · 15/10/2025 09:39

Those stupid little book advent calanders are £6.50 on amazon for the star wars and marvel ones. If anyone was looking. (Disclaimer- I hate these! We had a gruffalo one and the books are so small my children really weren't interested so dont take this as a reccomendation! But I know some people like them)

star wars one

AirTags -
Is a genuine Apple one worth it over a cheaper version and could anyone help with bargains??

I've recently bought some off-brand ones to try out after I saw "airtags" recommended on the stocking fillers thread - I'm not willing to shell out for apple ones but happy to split a pack of cheaper ones across adult DSC's stockings..
anyway I've bought these ones and they work well. You get a holder and keyring included for each one (pack of 2) and they have paired with my FindMy app with no prob.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0F9T2D3YZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

They are showing as £20-ish now but were £10 when I bought them so prob worth looking for price changes.. or just chance it with other off-brand ones that have plenty of reviews / stars.

nothingtoseehereatall · 15/10/2025 09:55

Re heated blankets - Aldi have one coming into store on 26 October. No idea what it's like quality-wise but it's £24.99 and comes in a few colours (blue, pink, grey, cream).

Penguinbeaver · 15/10/2025 09:59

Can I ask what candles people are gifting along with the candle lamp please.

Also unrelated but I've just purchased a password book on Amazon for £7.99 thought it was a useful little gift

I ask you to stop this Christmas hysteria - there is enough plastic tat and anxiety in the world without pointlessly creating more.

@InsectsMatter I suggest you move away from the Christmas thread of ‘plastic tat’ upsets you.

WhyDoesItAlways · 15/10/2025 10:33

Just had a message from the amazon hoody seller (the one selling goodies 2 for £2.99 or something). I bought a women's zip up hoody for £8.99 I think so not one of the super cheap goodies and they've just told me that it's been delivered to the wrong address but they are going to bare the loss and refund me.

Would be interested to know if anyone else has had similar. It sounded like BS to me so I have a feeling no one will be getting there orders no matter how much they paid. Not sure if its a coincidence I've been getting a load of spam emails recently 🤔

sillygoof · 15/10/2025 10:34

Thanks for the nectar chat - I didn’t know about the Christmas bonus points. I went and bought a carton of juice cos I had 50 bonus points for it, and it then gave me the additional 300. Very useful to know!

Orrrrrr people are looking for better ways of spending their money so it’s not tat for tats sake.

CatRash · 15/10/2025 10:39

Not a bargain as such but Yoto have bought out a K-Pop DH music Yoto card today.

Do I detect a slightly misogynistic tone here? 🤔

Mine was similar but apparently lost in customs. Agree, I don’t believe the excuse!

Christmasmcchristmasface · 15/10/2025 11:06

I also have just received the email blaming customs
