This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Hope you're all well. I've just put in a big Temu order for stocking bits and bits for work. They gave me £8 off my next order yesterday as two orders I had are arriving late and, when I contacted customer services about something, they also gave me a 20% off voucher, so I saved £20 on my order!

Jellybum2019 · 14/10/2025 15:57

MerylSqueak · 14/10/2025 16:44

I've just seen this capybara advent calendar on Amazon for £6.40 with a voucher which is a tick box under the price. I don't know anything about it but I know a few kids who would love it.

Can anyone recommend some good quality women’s gloves that have the touchscreen fingers? Thanks!

I rate the Accessorize ones. Nice classic leather glove and the touchscreen fingers really work.

Is a genuine Apple one worth it over a cheaper version and could anyone help with bargains??

Eeyorefan · 14/10/2025 18:03

Celtic & co currently has 15% off until 2nd November with code OCTVIP15

These people Here there was a code on the cloths too not sure if that’s still working, but free postage regardless. One PP had an issue with darker images , but I just had my second order delivered and they were fine too luckily .

My darker ones not as good as my lighter one as well. But still good for the money

For anybody that shops at Sainsbury’s, make sure you download the nectar app. They have personalised offers every week and at the moment they have a countdown to Christmas points challenge and a Taste the Difference challenge too. I got back almost £10 in nectar points when I did my big shop there!

Yes, I've had £16 of points back across 3 shops of varying values! It's dead easy to get to target on the Count Up to Christmas. DH and I are both on challenge 4 already.

For everyone who has had their glasses cloth…… how does the photo compare to the cloth in size? Do I need to submit a square photo? I have a longish photo of people sitting at a table, if I submit that would they crop the people on the end for it to fit or would I get a blank border top and botttom of the cloth?

Jellybum2019 · 14/10/2025 18:37

Another Lego book with bricks included on offer (sorry link isn’t working but photo attached for the one I’m referring to)

They crop it to a square

I have been asked for a long spouted indoor watering can!! The recipient isn't a keen gardening so wouldn't appreciate an expensive branded one (I'm assuming such things exist) but in the other hand I'd like a well made one that doesn't leak. Any pointers much appreciated...

Oliver Bonas have some nice ones. I have a metal one from there which is not the current version but looks like it may be made by the same people, and its good to use, no leaks, although the shape of the spout means you have to lift it high to get the last of the water out

My dd showed me a video where someone was creating a Demon hunter comic book. You can buy blank comic books on Amazon ( although they were more expensive than when I first started buying them) and print pictures off, use stickers to make up the story. You could print some coloured images and black and white ones for her to draw herself.

Great idea, thank you @ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS I will take a look!

Mummymumbruh · 14/10/2025 19:12

INIU Power Bank listed at £13.99

Reduces even further when you check out, mine went down to £7.13 when I checked out.

I think something similar may have been on a thread last year, not sure if it was cheaper than what I've just paid. But original price is £18.99 and reviews aren't too bad (I did only glance at them).

Just a word of caution with Nectar. Double check the number in your account as mine was changed and all my points have been used. I reported it and they said they have been inundated with these reports. So annoying 😡

We have the ikea watering can linked to earlier, it’s great

This happened to me too, however Sainsbury’s refunded all the points onto a new nectar account for me. Very handy feature on the app is that you can ‘lock’ spending so no one can use the points without your permission.

I have my spending locked. Is this a different fraud from the points being spent? Are they giving you the points back?

ETA: I literally only unlock for the 30 seconds or so it takes to spend points online.
