Other one seems to be filling up fast!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!
If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Definitely try marketplace / other local selling sites for an Islabike (possibly over budget for a good condition one), Frog or Squish.
Also double check the size you need - 20inch could be right but I just got an Islabike 20 large for my to-be 5 year old so may need 22 or 24 for 8yo.

I second checking the size. My 8 and 6 year olds are both on 24 inch Forme and Cuda bikes. It is on the large size for the 6 year old but they are a tall and confident 6 year old.

Look at the weight of any bike you purchase, isla and frog are great but there are a few cheaper options that aren't too much heavier. Wild bikes are worth a look. A good condition light secondhand is often better than a heavier new bike.

I don't think this is nearly as good a deal as 2 years agon(I can't remember what we paid), but the White Stuff men's sock advent calendar is £20 at moment. Couldn't see a woman's equivalent. There seems to be a 10% off code on the site too, though I haven't tried it as DH has too many socks.

here

Shop the 12 Days Mens Sock Advent in NAVY MULTI. On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me… 12 pairs of socks. That’s a year’s worth of socks just for me.

Planning ahead: over the weekend of 4 - 5 October the Superseconds Festival takes place.
It's where 250+ independent makers sell seconds, one-offs and end of line items, many at a substantial discount. I have bought things over several years and found some great bargains.
The point in mentioning it now if that if you sign up to the mailing lists for any sellers you like the look of, then some offer an early start to their sale and/or a code for a discount.
Here's a list of the makers who will be taking part. There are plenty of ideas for Christmas gifts there.

@Yalz

tried to quote you three times and it just kept crashing! Thank you for posting this, I got loads of bits from this last year and found loads of great new businesses.
it’s brilliant

I have a few couples to buy for and have just come across these:
Pott'd Date Night Kits

Wondering if anyone has ever used them and would recommend? Or not? They have some discounts atm and multi buy offers. Also a referral scheme so I am going to pop my referral code on referrals thread in case useful to anyone else.

Other ideas for couples in their 20s welcome! Thanks 👍

Yes. I’ve used them during lockdown to occupy the kids in half term.
they were really really good.

For any of you who normally take up the Radio Times offer, I had a pop up on their site yesterday offering 5 issues for £2. You can choose when you want the first issue delivered, so can make sure you get the Christmas issue.

This is the link it took me to: Radio Times

Thank you for this. I couldn’t find any offers last year and I really missed it!

I’ve got it starting on 25/11 which should take me up to the Xmas issue or 1st week of Jan depending on how they count the Xmas double issue.

Has anyone received their biscuiteers refund yet? I haven't and have chased it but no response yet. Not impressed and will be avoiding them going forward.

zacsGranny · 29/09/2025 11:10

My Hotel Chocolat arrived and the date is November, so no good as a present for Christmas.
What have others done?

Yes I got my refund quickly after emailing to say I didn't want their "alternative" offered.

MyLifeMyChoices · 29/09/2025 11:22

Could anyone point me in the direction of the correct place to ask about argos codes?

Thanks

I’ve got a feeling I tried it last year and it got rejected as I’d taken the offer before - has it worked multiple times for anyone else?

Mine was rejected last year but I think it was a slightly different offer, X number of issues for £1 so I'm hoping because the offer has changed it will work this year. It is showing as pending in the subscription account so hopefully it will go through.

@Notlongnow1 I've just bought an escape room kit for the city we live in for DSD and her BF (early 20s). They have lots of cities and they have 3 for 2 on at the moment.
I've no idea if they are any good though! https://www.mysteryguides.co.uk/
