thanks for the men’s sweatshirt. I’ve just ordered 4 for £3.98 delivered!
2 for my stepdad…he’s 86 & really feels the cold so hopefully these will help him & 2 for DH just because they were so cheap it was rude not too & if they get trashed at work it doesn’t matter.

ILoveCatsAndKittens · 28/09/2025 21:02

Im tempted by the soap and glory advent calender for myself but feel so guilty spending money on myself!
Son always has a toy calender and I get a decent one for husband too, but never myself! 🙈

fishfingersandchipsagain · 28/09/2025 21:06

I’ve ordered 2 of the sweatshirts for gardening. I notice in the description it points out they are Asian rather than European sizing so to size up.

ApplesinmyPocket · 28/09/2025 20:39

Verucca (love the name!) I had this last year, and I thought it was really really good. I had the gemstones one too. They came in small red cardboard 'envelopes' with a number and a Christmas sticker on - very attractive, but not in calendar formation IYSWIM.

Think I even got a fossilised shark tooth in a little plastic box inside one envelope, and dinosaur bone - I was very pleased.

Oh that sounds like just the thing thank you!

Cheeky request can anyone recommend a bike for an 8 year old, 20 inch? DS birthday next week... budget around £150 really, would love a good discount !! I dont have so much as an argos code atm Thank you.

My DD has a pinnacle one from Evans cycles. Which was 50% off. But other than that Frog bikes are great.

Autumnsun37 · 28/09/2025 21:21

Anyone have a recommendation for a dance mat, suitable for a 5yo? 🙏🏽

MiTu · 28/09/2025 21:29

I have a niche requirement for a gift - an empty 330ml special edition drinks can that I would like to get professionally altered into a regular drinking cup - aka top removed and brim evened out/ sanded to make it safe for drinking from. I am aware that I could follow a YouTube video or something and do this myself but I am not dextrous in the slightest and would quite frankly just prefer to pay someone to do it for me! Does anyone know if anyone does this?? Thanks!

I have a few couples to buy for and have just come across these:
Pott'd Date Night Kits

Wondering if anyone has ever used them and would recommend? Or not? They have some discounts atm and multi buy offers. Also a referral scheme so I am going to pop my referral code on referrals thread in case useful to anyone else.

Other ideas for couples in their 20s welcome! Thanks 👍

The kits are good quality but as a novice we didn’t enjoy them at all. You do need a bit of core strength to roll out the clay and mold, it’s VERY messy and the kit we had didn’t have all the tools needed as per the guide video. Ended up with a pile of gloopy clay. So not worth the money unless you’re confident you or the recipients can make the end result in my opinion.

Notlongnow1 · 28/09/2025 22:06

Thanks @crimbopourleskids

I did wonder about that and was thinking the painting mugs etc ones may be more fun!

MerylSqueak · 28/09/2025 22:11

@IlovePond I've tried using your tip for 10% off Boots advent calendars but I can't get it to work. Can you remember where you found out about it so I can double check it please?

Judellie · 28/09/2025 22:52

Gruum currently have an offer on their Advent calendars, reduced from £260 to £50, 24 full size products, free delivery, not shipped til 15 November.
An ad also came up on there for a bundle of 'wonky soaps' reduced from £40 to £12

FLOWERYFROCKY · 28/09/2025 22:53

Loulouli · 27/09/2025 10:08

Via Groupon you can currently get the degusta advent calendar for £29.74 at the moment.

@loulouli and all who bought the degusta advent calendar via Groupon. How did you get the site to accept the Groupon code? It keeps saying code not found for me. Thank you!

FLOWERYFROCKY · 28/09/2025 23:09

Dw I fixed it! I needed to type it in rather than cut and paste

Oh I’m so glad you asked this. I also bought it via Groupon and was just expecting it to turn up in November like a normal online retailer 😵‍💫 when in actuality, I have to actually order it from Degusta and then pay with the Groupon code? I’ve never used Groupon before, it’s certainly not made very clear.

Confusedmeanderings · 29/09/2025 01:16

@AuntieDen thank you for the fleece lined sweatshirt tip. I ordered 2 for DH. He always wrecks them and at that price, it doesn't matter!

Mine keeps coming up as £9.99 each. I must be doing something wrong!

Tigger83 · 29/09/2025 06:23

What am I doing wrong with the Amazon jumper? Put 4 in my basket, ticked the box for 50% off and it's coming up at £19.98!

Did you try going further through to checkout? The amount changed for me just before the last page. Saying that though, I can't see the lower price on the ladies tops so maybe it is account specific.

I think the £1.99 for two offer has ended as it isn’t listed in the promotions beneath the item anymore. I ordered last night and when I added two to my basket and went to checkout the reduction was automatically made.

AuntieDen · 29/09/2025 07:05

@Tigger83 unfortunately the 2 for £1.99 it does look like its ended :( The offer on the womens jackets has gone too so I'm guessing there are specific numbers in each offer

whatohwhattodo · 29/09/2025 07:31

MaybeMrs · 27/09/2025 19:54

I’m not sure. If I can get a discount code 😂 then maybe up to £150 for two calendars.

I made my daughters beauty advent calendars last year as they would use a lot of the enough ones.

i think they came in about £75 each.

In the Next sale I got a couple of their own brand beauty boxes and one with branded stuff in that were mini sizes, even full price beauty boxes could work to separate the contents.
TKMaxx had some great bargains - got some stuff that was still full price in Boots round the corner
Boots 3 for 2
are you buying yourself anything you can get samples from?

if you start early you can just look out for bargains over next 2 months.

I then wrapped each thing in tissue paper and got some advent number stickers from eBay then put them in a gift bag.

QuaintGreenFawn · 28/09/2025 20:31

Definitely try marketplace / other local selling sites for an Islabike (possibly over budget for a good condition one), Frog or Squish.
Also double check the size you need - 20inch could be right but I just got an Islabike 20 large for my to-be 5 year old so may need 22 or 24 for 8yo.

delayed to this - but have you considered then bike club - its like a bike contract similar to a phone contract. very reasonable prices, we pay like £5-10 a month for each of our kids. they then let you exchange bikes as the kids grow

Hopscotch12 · 29/09/2025 08:05

Harper Collins have 50% off all books with code AUTUMN50

They stock lots of study guides too.

VeruccaSalty · 29/09/2025 08:45

Just as well you said that about the degusta calendar or I would have gotten to Dec wondering where it is. I did have to pay the postage to NI in the end
