The Christmas Bargain Thread No 2 - The one where it all went very fast

Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

The postcard is great thank you

What about the Lego Lucky Cat? Or that may be too much Lego

I am not too sure on a Lego lucky cat because as I've previously said she's having the Lego Japan postcard, also i've bought the whole of the mini Zuru retro range, as she's very into retro stuff and already has the Lego mini player and Lego Polaroid.

Does anyone know where I can get cheap Christmas gift bags?

I know last year I bought them from heritage of Scotland, but that offer is not on this year!

NoWordForFluffy · 08/09/2025 08:58

Card Factory is good for cheap gift bags, @ChristmasMad1.

The Asda toy sale is rumoured to start tomorrow and yesterday they were prepping the aisles. A few Lego sets, botanicals, Hei Hei, some wooden dolls furniture, toddler bits. It’s normally online also so worth a look in the morning.

Thanks so much for this. Got my youngest thr cookey makery oven that was so popular a few years ago, down to £20. My eldest had one and loved the "how did I do that element of it" worth it for the £20 imo if the youngest likes it too. Also saw they do a freezer one now which was £30. There's some great deals to be had on there..I used PayPal for 20% cashback and top cashback gives 3.4% too

Does anyone know what i could get my aoon to be 8 year old son, he's very bright, a science engineering type, hands on and loves the outdoors (hes a very committed Beaver but wannabe Scout) but we're facing months of more indoor time than he'd like - he has two younger siblings so we cant always be out in the pouring rain, cold. We're not into screens and I dont want him plonked in front of tv this winter - halthough even then he opts to watch videos of den building and bear grylls!
I thought about a whittling kit maybe..
Thanks

There's this on not on the high street with free postage

@Oneborneverydecade @ChristmasMad1
Not a bargain, but Estella Bartlett have this lucky cat pendant which is quite sweet. I’m considering it for my DD16 but £25 is not cheap and I’m worried that it looks cheaper than that. They also do a bracelet and earrings and offer discount schemes for students etc.

Was just coming to say this. My ds loved this.

Would it be suitable for a 10 year old? It sounds brilliant!

hugsandpugs · 08/09/2025 10:43

Look like lovely quality gloves! Down to £2.90 with free shipping, I’ve ordered a pair for a friend 😊

Thank you for reminding me about the cash back. I wasn’t going to buy anything but it ended up being a really good deal, and now a number of gifts are sorted 😀

Someone on the last thread was looking for Terry toweling Christmas tea towels. Just saw these in B&M and got some as they felt decent quality for £2 each

I haven’t RTFT but I had trouble with the link to the referral codes board in the first post so here is the correct link to the current thread in case no one else has posted it.

(and apologies if someone already did this)
