The Christmas Bargain Thread No 2 - The one where it all went very fast

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/09/2025 18:32

Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Does anyone else click on this thread with great intentions around buying Christmas presents for other people and end up spotting bargains for themselves instead?!

This is me!! Heated blanket and Passenger clothing so far and not one Christmas present!!

beetr00 · 13/09/2025 13:28

Mens designer clothing 70% off + further 20% off with code "OUTLET 20"

eta; be aware that returns are at your own expense (probably will put off some)

If anyone is looking for a gift idea for those who appreciate lovely things, there are a number of Elizabeth Scarlett velvet embroidered pouches on the website reduced to about £21 which is a good price. Personally I think they are too nice to use as a makeup bag, but I use them for travelling and also inside my longchamp bags as a handbag organiser to keep everyday stuff like my wallet, phone, AirPods, lip balm etc together so I can just move this from bag to bag.

This one is £22.40: https://www.elizabethscarlett.com/products/wildflower-dry-rose-everyday-pouch

There are also some limited monogrammed ones available for £21 (mostly good if your name starts with a W!)

They also have a beautiful embroidered eye mask reduced to £17.50: Orange Blossom Eye Mask – Elizabeth Scarlett

Postage is £5 on the ES website but if you like these pouches, it’s worth noting that there are a few available to order on Bloom & Wild for £32 but you can use a referral code to save £10 on your order and get free nominated day delivery.
Obviously there are fewer options to choose from on B&W, but there are a couple of really nice ones and this way the cost is only £22 including delivery. (The new autumn one is gorgeous - I’ve just ordered for my mum).

You’ll find loads of referrals for bloom & wild on the other board here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7

Gah! Looks like they've fixed the soap and glory body butter quantities, too late for that deal!

Broken12 · 13/09/2025 13:37

Smyths do similar

Oh no! Hopefully they honour the deal for those that ordered in time!

Just checked my Boots account - it says all items ordered have been dispatched and includes the 2 free body butters.

BeaLola · 13/09/2025 13:52

I hadn't realised that the 20% off M&S included brands like Clinique - do not a Christmas gift (for me ...again) just bought my foundation with 20% off

Yeknom · 13/09/2025 13:54

I hope all the S&G orders are fulfilled too!!!

Just wondering what people do in scenarios where they are using great information from this thread to get a bargain on a gift for someone who they may have spent 40 on but got the bargain for 20. Do you then buy more to take up to 40, or just thr 20. I know its a personal choice but wondering??

Depends on the person. My daughter I would then buy more for, most other people I wouldn’t.

Someone posted a link last year for The Tank Museum with great books on a whole host of topics. They have similar bargains this year, I’ve bought some fab science-type books for a fraction of what I would usually pay.

Some great prices for kids fiction books on there. Not history related ones necessarily

Wontonsoup1 · 13/09/2025 14:26

Dear Santa board book is £3.99 on Amazon at the moment

hugsandpugs · 13/09/2025 14:34

Thanks for the boots tip! I’ve just done an order for the soap and glory stuff 😄 went through PayPal to hopefully get 7% cashback plus went through the voucher codes app so hopefully that will count towards my £5 vip spend too!

Londonmummy66 · 13/09/2025 14:35

For those wanting Christmas wrapping paper the Whistlefish 5 packs for £5 applies to the Christmas wrap as well - you need to go into the separate Christmas tab on the website. Some of the Christmas designs would work well all year round so not a problem if you over order. They also have a couple of tartan designs in the general wrap section that might work for Christmas.

Has Argos stopped doing the £10 off £60 when you sign up? I just signed up and didn’t get anything :( it’s the only thing I’ve thought of for my husband but it’s not very bargainous without any discount!

I found this yesterday and ordered, it’s not discounted but only £6 and a nice candle-holder lamp:

Just a word of warning about Boots orders:

I ordered when Boots were doing 25% off last week.

My order came yesterday but I only opened it today. The perfume spray had been opened and then clumsily resealed with the plastic seal covered in dirt/fluff. The other box had been opened.

I am furious but am not sure Boots are going to believe it arrived like that.

Similar was mentioned last year on here, so I had my order shipped to store, when I got there the lady advised me to check it before I left the store (she obviously knew they'd been having issues). I picked an order up last week and had the same advice.

IlovePond · 13/09/2025 15:28

Thanks @Sixredjumpersoneblackskirt - I will go in tomorrow and see what happens. I am furious.

Boots customer service were not great when I contacted them the other day about my order that arrived with the packaging broken and the box ripped! Not great when it was meant to be for a gift! They said I can send it back for a replacement but I couldn’t be bothered with the faff for £4.50!

hugsandpugs · 13/09/2025 15:32

Well happy with the junior crocs and free croc charms I got for DD for just over £10 with delivery!

Any other recommendations for a heated electric throw - can’t get the dreamland one delivered to Northern Ireland.
Been looking teddy bear ones at Dunelm and ones on Amazon that are faux fur.
Any recommended?
Also any one seen quilts similar to these for a reasonable price - not a child pattern though - I am just showing the child pattern one as an example of the cosy factor I want 🥶

Thinking of buying my partner some shoe warmers/dryers for his running shoes. Has anyone got any experience with them and can recommend any?

I bought these on a previous Mumsnet recommendation and they’ve been fab.

Snowpea Electric Shoe Dryer, Ski Boots Dryer, Shoe & Boot Warmer to Dry Sweaty Shoes & Eliminate Bad Odor, 3/6/9 Hours Timed Auto Self Off (Standard UK Plug) https://amzn.eu/d/2in7iYN
