The Christmas Bargain Thread No 2 - The one where it all went very fast

RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/09/2025 18:32

Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Does anyone else click on this thread with great intentions around buying Christmas presents for other people and end up spotting bargains for themselves instead?!

All the time, I’ve bought loads of goodies for myself. DH doesn’t know what to get me now 🤣

I've just put a wind up radio and a tyre inflator on my Christmas list for me 😀

It's still coming up with 20% off for me in the app. Have you definitely added the sparks offer?

Thanks, yes I’ve definitely added it and I’ve gone through to the payment page. I’m using the website, not app though, I’ll download the app.

Has anyone been able to use the sparks 20% off beauty on the M&S boxes since the person who posted above? I can’t see an exclusion on my offer, but they aren’t being discounted.

Edited

Mine is 20% off a £50 spend so wouldn’t work if you were only buying the beauty box.

Ollie and Nic have a sale on. I have just bought this crossover bag for my sis. It was down to £40 from £65 then SALE20 takes it further down to £36 with free shipping. Jorja Women's Leather Crossbody Sling Bumbag - Silver – Ollie & Nic they have more muted colours available 😄

Thank you for this. I used the code to buy myself a bag (for DH to give me for my birthday 🤣)

I’m buying two and it’s still not working on the app either! I’ve definitely added it as it has a tick and says 4 days left to use.

Absolutely, then I award them to myself for Christmas 🤣

running2 · 13/09/2025 11:26

Thinking of buying my partner some shoe warmers/dryers for his running shoes. Has anyone got any experience with them and can recommend any?

Boots have a free body butter with the purchase of two items of soap and glory . However they are adding two body butters instead of one free in the basket . So for example 2 x £4.99 body wash plus 2 x free gifts £9.98 for all 4 items . Im not actually a huge s & g fan , but may be useful to others here . Free click and collect over £15 . Topcashback possibly too .

Thanks, 2 body washes, 2 body butters and 2 eye patches for under £15. Perfect for teen DD’ s friends secret Santa.

I’ve also deleted cookies and still no luck. I’ve tried adding other beauty items and 20% comes off those, just not the box 😕

How does everyone keep up with this thread? I’m just reading through page 12 and struggling - do you just read the most recent and carry on?

I was the same, no rhyme or reason why. I ended up buying colour wow products with it for DD.

I think some people were double cashbacking for Boots by paying with PayPal and activating cashback there too

My discount wasn’t going through either.

i phoned 0333014800, and they honoured discount over the phone.
I had 6 days left of offer.

Have your order numbers at the ready and give them a phone.

Just wondering what people do in scenarios where they are using great information from this thread to get a bargain on a gift for someone who they may have spent 40 on but got the bargain for 20. Do you then buy more to take up to 40, or just thr 20. I know its a personal choice but wondering??

BoysBagsShoes · 13/09/2025 12:21

I often did this with family members. I used to make it up to the original amount I was going to spend…then I realised that if I did that, it wasn’t a bargain! Now I set a rough budget for each person on my list, if I get a bargain, great! I do like to note down the original price and then tot it all up after to see how much I’ve saved, but that’s just me…

BoysBagsShoes · 13/09/2025 12:28

Someone posted a link last year for The Tank Museum with great books on a whole host of topics. They have similar bargains this year, I’ve bought some fab science-type books for a fraction of what I would usually pay.
