The Christmas Bargain Thread No 2 - The one where it all went very fast

RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/09/2025 18:32

Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

bought a brand new oodie with tags for £9 from whatnot, never used the site before so wasn't sure what was going to turn up! but its perfect. They were selling all sizes and ages, sure they'll do another sale before xmas.

Thank you to the lady who told me that m&s often do 20% off sales

They've got one that came on today and I have just paid out for my Hungarian goose down duvet 🥰🥰

Still super expensive but hopefully will be worth it

I thought of you when I read that there was an offer.....

OnionBag · 11/09/2025 20:00

@FirstCuppa are you a volunteer? I am, I love it!

That icon is a different offer. The 20% off for fashion home and beauty comes off in your basket.

I tried but alas not working.

I tried but alas not working.

Mine isn't either!

Does anyone have a good idea for a nice thank you gift (for a 50yo woman) that's not food and not skin or fragrance related (asthma and eczema) - under the £15 mark?

triplechoc · 11/09/2025 20:29

Middle of Lidl had the ‘See Inside’ usbourne books for £4.99, Amazon current price is about £7. I think there was See Inside Your Body, How things work, and maybe Science. Now wishing I still had small people to buy them for, DS loved the body one when he was little!

Isittooearlyforchristmasmusic · 11/09/2025 20:34

Well my xmas shopping is going badly, out of date sticks of rock, cancelled boots order, cancelled biscuiteers order, and tonight I learn I paid full price for the m&s icon box when it's now 20% off!

Passenger has some lovely stuff in the outlet section of the site

and an extra 10% off with ESCAPE10

Well, I've just started my Christmas shopping there! A jumper for my dad, a t-shirt for DH and 2 jumpers, a t-shirt and a beanie hat for me as a reward! Thank you @redjoker !!

A book or a plant i would get. Something like a succulent shouldn't be an issue for allergies should it?

Pets Alive Unicorn 44% off this pets alive unicorn down to just under £9

https://amzn.eu/d/c0nbyYg Potion set also reduced, my girls had this last year and LOVED it!

I want to buy this potion kit so much but all the kids I buy for are too old.....may have to befriend a random! I miss buying presents for little kids, although I dont remember enjoying it much at the time!

Slightly unhinged, but if she cooks for herself I love this Spoon holder crab

Does she garden/enjoy the outdoors? Gardening/gloves? Bucket of spring bulbs? Nice scarf?

A posh notebook, journalling kit, adult colouring set?

Voucher for local coffee shop? Day pass for local attraction? Thermal travel cup?

SaraSosej · 11/09/2025 21:01

Tobios mini watercolour set has 47% off

I genuinely think that's the first time in 14 years of this thread that I've ever seen a gift described as 'slightly unhinged'

I vote The one with the slightly unhinged crab spoon holder for the next thread title.

DD jist got one for her birthday from her bff. Quietest she has ever been!

skkyelark · 11/09/2025 21:37

Argos toy sale is on. It includes some decent discounts on playmobil, some sets half price – I think someone was looking for playmobil earlier. Also quite a bit of Bluey and Hot Wheels stuff with decent discounts.

FortnumsWeddingBreakfastTeaPlease · 11/09/2025 21:43

I want an unhinged crab

sillygoof · 11/09/2025 21:57

The Tobios set looks lovely - has anyone bought it, any feedback??

ZeroDucksLeft · 11/09/2025 21:57

Dh bought me the spoon holder crab for Christmas last year. At first I was a bit sceptical that it would just languish in the utensils drawer unused for all eternity but actually we use it all the time! Spoon holder crab is an excellent gift.

PersisFord · 11/09/2025 22:17

I retract my unimaginative suggestions of book/plant, and i also vote for the unhinged spoon holder crab!

THNEW20 works on Tommy Hilfiger website for 20% off. It worked on sale items too.
