The Christmas Bargain Thread No 2 - The one where it all went very fast

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/09/2025 18:32

Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Thirtysomething123 · 11/09/2025 23:03

Has anyone used the website Whatnot?
Ive come across them but not sure if they are an ok site?

Famousthehero · 11/09/2025 23:10

Glad unhinged crab is making a splash 🦀

25% off clothing at F&F, can’t recall if it’s been mentioned already sorry

BeaLola · 11/09/2025 23:11

BananaWoman999

A potted amaryllis
Book - if you know her well to judge what she would like - maybe one of those A Poem for Every Day of the Year (I think Penguin do a variety of these) , or perhaps latest Thursday Murder Club book out end September

Thirtysomething123 · 11/09/2025 23:15

I really want the crab for myself! 😂

Blessedbethefruitz · 11/09/2025 23:18

Am I the only one who wants to know more about kitchen roll crab man?

Can anyone advise on those slushy cups that were so popular last year? Are they actually any good? What (syrup?) do you use with them? I cant work it out, but dd3 is having me melt ice lollies for her every night in the microwave..

Oh my! Love the (unhinged!) spoon holder crab...! But maybe for me 😅

fruitfly3 · 11/09/2025 23:58

@MulberryPeony thanks for the Irregular Choice tip off - made me feel really nostalgic and 16 again looking through their shoes. What a shame

fruitfly3 · 12/09/2025 00:16

@Isittooearlyforchristmasmusic hope tomorrow is better! Just checked the small print (given 20% isn’t working for many of us) and it excludes the beauty box

Yalz · 12/09/2025 00:47

I must be lucky, then, as I got 20% off the beauty box as well as the underwear I bought.

Total (£) = 30 + 11 + 20 + 20 + 16 + 16 = 113.

Discount: 20% of 113 = 0.2 x 113 = 22.60

Yes, I did check the Maths before I ordered 😀

We just use normal drinks. Dd is partial to a juice in hers.

ADayAlwaysHasToEnd · 12/09/2025 06:19

I know the sticker dressing dolly books are always popular. The Christmas fairies one is currently half price at £3.99 on Amazon. https://amzn.eu/d/goBwZwj

Yes I have used it alot, got some great bargins! It's not overly known about at the moment so there are some good deals but I think this will be short lived as more people access the platform

I’m just catching up with this thread and am going to share a couple of great buys I got last year (thanks to this thread), a tip on Millie’s cookies and a recommendation.

AirPod cleaning accessories - these are a great stocking filler for teens and only around £3. (And also solve a bit of a sticky problem 🫣)

Electric hand warmers - game changing for dog walks and kids’ sports during the colder months. There are lots of options on Amazon for £15-20 but last year I bought several packs when the price dropped to about £6-7. I actually got them for my husband but ended up getting some for each of my parents and myself because they are SO GOOD. As such, this isn’t an amazing bargain at the moment but I’m sure the prices of these will drop again, so maybe add to your basket to keep an eye on the price.

Current tip: if you’ve received a Millie’s Cookies 40% discount voucher to be used by 30 September, I spotted that you can actually book a collection for some time in the future. This saves £10 on a giant personalised cookie so if you’ve got a birthday or occasion before the end of the year, you can use your code to get the discount as long as you actually order it before 30 September. Might be good for a Christmas cookie? Unfortunately I have used my voucher codes but if anyone has one they won’t use, perhaps you could put them on the bargains and referrals board for someone else to use?

Final tip is something I discovered this year and will be buying for a few people this Christmas. Tenth Muse solid perfumes are from a small British company and they are lovely. You buy the case and the perfume insert separately and it’s all very natural, sustainable, plastic free etc. people always comment on my perfume so I’m buying this for a few people this year.

The full price for a case and insert is about £38 but there’s usually a 15% discount which pops up, which often stacks with a free delivery code and you can even stack this with a referral code too, which saves you a further £3. The perfume refills are only £14 if you subscribe to receive them a few times a year, so very reasonable price wise too.

hope this helps someone!

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza!

my kids love this. Noisy but the kids love it.

also, not a card game but have you got Pass the Pigs? This is brilliant and a great one to keep in your bag / pocket when out in the evenings on holiday etc too. My two have so much fun with this.

weareallqueens · 12/09/2025 08:00

@Christmassylove We all love Dobble. Lots of different versions too.

fruitfly3 · 12/09/2025 08:22

@Christmassylove we love Sky Jo as a family - everyone from 5 to 80 plays. It’s not the most exciting packaging but really fun and the right balance of strategy

The Essence Vault has BOGOF on everything today - https://www.theessencevault.co.uk/
Might make good stocking fillers or presents.

I've heard mixed things about them but for the price it's a cheap enough just to try them out. I just bought 3x 100ml perfumes plus the Discovery Set for £45.

Soundiculous you have to make noises of different things and get points accordingly if the rest of the players can guess what noises you are making xxxx

ThatRosePanda · 12/09/2025 08:54

Have you seen the card game selfish, it’s from the people that made exploding kittens.

VeruccaSalty · 12/09/2025 08:55

Card games - we have been into Dungeon Mayhem and Unstable Unicorns. Oh and Bears Vs Babies is usually cheap on Bargain Max. It's good once you get the hang of it (you have to regularly declare war on the babies). Oh and I like Sushi Go (which was on offer on Amazon recently) but no else ever wants to play it.
