Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

I also have a Yoto player on my list this year. Can anyone remember what their Black Friday deal was like last year?

20% I believe plus stacks with referral code, I can send you one if needed?

YummyNomo · 09/09/2025 14:16

I agree, my Fiorelli bags were delivered today and are great. Will make brilliant gifts. Thank you to the original poster 🙂

I agree too. It arrived today and is lovely.... it'll make a great gift. I'm quite cross I didn't order one for myself now 🤣.

Hallmark have an offer on their Harry P ornaments- POTTER25 for 25% Off + FREE Gift Over £15

Don't know what the gift is sorry. Tried adding things to my basket to see but didn't want to go too far on the checkout route in case I accidentally bought them. Haven't compared with other retailers either.

Also got these for my DD (8) who wants to be like the ‘cool girls’ at gym - but there’s no way I’m paying for the real Sundae ones!

@ChristmasMad1 I used Yorkshire Trading Company for garden bits last Christmas as they were the cheapest I could find . All good , and good reviews on trust pilot too , which is where I always check companies that are new to me .

Turtle Doves have lots of items currently reduced to £25

RealUnicorns · 09/09/2025 15:31

This recommending Yoto players - is 9 and 11 a bit old for one? I’d like to use in kitchen at dinner times or chill times rather than bedtime. Interested to hear what the radio/podcast bits are like too in terms of content and age. From a quick glance at their site the cards look very expensive (£34 for a Harry Potter one for example) - is this accurate? TIA

I’m not sure about that age as my daughter is much younger but the £30 Harry Potter card is the exception in price. The earlier HP books are around £18 and even that’s on the expensive end. You can get 3 diary of a wimpy kid ones for £17 for instance and individual Roald Dahl stories for around £10 each

Anyone ever bought from Yorkshire Trading Company? They have cards for 49p!!

I've only shopped in-store when visiting family in Yorkshire, but everything I got was fine.

hby9628 · 09/09/2025 16:12

My Darcy bag has arrived. Absolutely amazing. Thank you.

Mads96 · 09/09/2025 16:19

Anyone seen any cheap Playmobil?

Crimsonbow · 09/09/2025 16:37

@ChristmasMad1 - they're a decent company with plenty of real life shops mostly in the north of England. Akin to B&M imo.

My son is slightly younger but I’d say quite mature in his interests and he loves the radio and podcasts, falls asleep to them. There’s plenty of choice of cards for that age group and the Harry Potter ones I’d say are the exception to the rule on prices. You can also buy cards second hand on vinted etc. Also if you sign up for the club you get credits they can then spend against cards throughout the year and get discount and free delivery with them which works out better. All in all I’m pleased we bought one and had similar concerns to you to begin with.

sillygoof · 09/09/2025 16:51

I’ve got blank Yoto cards and download books from BorrowBox (ie the library) and put them on the blank cards.

Never heard of this, I’m going to look into it thanks

Notlongnow1 · 09/09/2025 17:06

@realunicorns my 10 year old still uses his a lot and a lot of our content is from borrowbox, mp3s etc but also uses for podcasts. We have never really got into yoto daily but I know a lot of people rate it highly. You can program the buttons to link to different radio stations etc too. My son regularly listens to favourite cards eg harry potter, minecraft, percy jackson etc while doing other things and uses his mini more than my 7 year old when travelling.

@christmasmad1 I ordered from them last year but bulk sale bits for PTA fundraiser. They couldn't fulfil whole order but were great at apologising and refunding difference etc promptly.

Hello!!
Im a tad late to the party. Missed the first thread because I’m on holiday but I’ve ran out of books so I’m back on t’internet.
So. So far from this thread I’ve got a pair of crocs for DD with three of those things you put on them, plus an extra one - for the grand sum Of £19.00 - thanks to whoever posted the discount for carers card link.
I’ve also bought two of the dreamland heated blankets as I procrastinated last year and missed it. Used Welcome 10 and got them for £27 each with free DPD delivery as I live near a post office.
Im looking for offers ( or buying through top cash back/quidco ) for a PS5. One can but hope!!!
I LOVED these threads last year and went utterly bonkers but I girl ( or woman) mathed it and saved a chuffing fortune.
l live in hope of finding some great offer to post for you all.

Im resisting buying from HAUL until I get home as its only showing me prices is US $ atm. I am going to have to limit myself though as I may go slightly mad!!!
Thank you all so much - I LOVE these threads ❤️

Luna Skye are worth a try depending what you want. The website is terrible and you need to work through each page bit hy but really, but the owner used to respond to queries when I asked him anything. They do some sales on ebay too, auctions and regular I think and often he'll say on Facebook what offers he has on.
