The Christmas Bargain Thread No 2 - The one where it all went very fast

RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/09/2025 18:32

Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Anyone seen any cheap Playmobil?

I had an e-mail yesterday saying 25% off and free gift if you spend £30. Not sure what it’s on as I haven’t looked myself

beetr00 · 09/09/2025 17:42

@Mads96

This looks like a great deal, unsure if Asterix is popular though. £25.80 (reduced from £60)

Pluto356 · 09/09/2025 17:59

If anyone purchased the biscuiteers order I’ve had an email saying mines been cancelled as it was a mistake.

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 09/09/2025 18:07

Tesco have 25% off adult clothing, including pyjamas.

villamariavintrapp · 09/09/2025 18:09

@RealUnicornsyes my 9 year old still uses her yoto every night, she uses it for podcasts, but also music and books. I do make your own cards with content from the library-including all of the Harry Potter ones/Roald Dahl/worst witch/ all those fairy books, you can use any of their audiobooks/youtube

Mine is still showing as processing. If they cancel.it then...oh well.

LoopyGremlin · 09/09/2025 18:17

@Pluto356
my email says order confirmed. Is that what yours said before the cancellation?

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 09/09/2025 18:25

Someone on the last thread was looking for Christmas mugs - they'd had some nice ones out in Home Bargains today for 99p, including some very cute tiny mugs for little hands.

Sometimes the Boots stuff comes into stock as the day goes on. A lot of things tend to be OOS first thing but not later.

The Boots £10 offer tends to start online between 2am and 3am. This can be useful if you normally go to bed late or get woken in the night.

I have bought things which have gone out of stock by the time I’m next awake.

What was your delivery date? I selected 1st December so I’m hoping they will have forgotten by then 😂
I imagine someone in their team has had a bad day today!

Yalz · 09/09/2025 18:32

Anyone considering the Turtle Doves offer, I’d check which incarnation of the company it is.

Relatively recently they moved production abroad and most of their items were no longer 100% cashmere. Perhaps the company was sold? Several people posted on these threads how disappointed they were with what they’d received, IIRC.

I don’t know what they are currently like. They might be OK again.

Thank you for all the great bargains!
All my DS3 wants this year is an “ambulance with doors that open”. Has anyone one spotted any good ones? I’ve seen a great looking playmobil one, but he might be a bit young.

The playmobil one is great but it falls apart when handled a bit roughly. Our DS loves it now he is over 4 but it made him cross when he was 3. We got this one - he loved it (hope link works!)

Thanks. I woke for my shift at 4.30, so that's when I checked and it already said out of stock on all the grown alchemist stuff. I've checked when Ican through the day during breaks, it has said the same. So either every product in that range (5 or 6 products listed today) was bought up in the early hours, or it was never available in which case why list it. Annoying either way.

If they are going to cancel I hope they do it in time to organise other gifts!

My £9 Fiorelli bag arrived - it’s really nice so thank you to whoever gave that tip!

Thank you, it was me! I was looking for some adult sized cups, any patterned but cheap

Cleanthecoffeemachine · 09/09/2025 19:04

@LunaDeBallona the 60% haul discount ends on the 11th. Can you use a VPN to do the order if you're not back before then?

You're welcome. I'd forgotten to add the photo of one of the shelves to give you an idea of designs, but for 99p you can't go wrong really.

I had a look in my local home bargains and the cheapest they had was £4!!

Also went to Aldi but there's was no bargains in my one!

RainbowZebraWarrior · 09/09/2025 19:36

I'm not sure it's a bargain as such, but the Degusta advent box has just dropped. It's apparently £34.99 but worth £60+ I've never bought it before, but I know some on here did last year and the year before.

I agree with this. I bought from them years ago (and posted the original £7.99 bargain ebay seconds a few years ago) but I don't buy from them any more. I now use Tazzies on ebay, who I'm pretty sure used to be one of their glove makers. They still stated until recently on their website that the gloves were all hand made by people in the Cornwall area and that's where Tazzie is based. Her gloves are all around the £16 mark, are pure cashmere and are excellent quality.

Does the Degusta box drop in price nearer to Xmas can anyone remember? I bought it a few years ago and said never again after the gravy mayonnaise day but am now tempted again…!
