The Christmas Bargain Thread No 2 - The one where it all went very fast

RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/09/2025 18:32

Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

I got mine on Saturday - amazing for the price.

I got mine on Sunday - all in one piece which I was pleased about

@Christmassylove id say a big yes for the yoto, the big man bought one for my dd 4 years ago and it's still used daily. It's definitely a piece of kit that can grow with your child. Happy to send you a referral if you'd like some money off.

Alternatively I've heard Tonie has just released an updated player but I know nothing about those! :)

I second this - we got Yotos for our DS8 and DD5 two years ago and they’ve used them every day - best thing we’ve ever bought!

Hopefully mine will come as well

Bit gutted the other throw colours have gone on sale at Dreamland as I paid more in the end to get a teal one from Boots!
I did a whole cost benefit analysis for having to spend all winter looking at a black throw on a navy sofa 🤣
I could return and rebuy but postage costs would eat up half the saving

autumnleaves8888 · 08/09/2025 18:54

Have just purchased the dreamland throw in grey. I saved an additional 10% by signing up to the website. Thank you to the person who posted the discount😊

If anyone is going to buy theatre tickets as a gift ATG Tickets offers 25% discount on selected dates for NHS staff/teachers etc via ‘Local Heroes’:

https://www.atgtickets.com/campaigns/local-heroes/

Thank you so much. I've just booked tickets for an Inspector Morse show for my bday next year. I didn't realise they did this offer.

Hi all. Would appreciate any ideas for my DD’s pressie from Santa please (she’s 7)…I always like her to have a ‘main’ present like a bike/scooter/iPad etc. but she doesn’t need anything this year. Is the Yoto box worth buying? Thanks

We love our Yoto. Much better choice of things to listen to, plus access to radio stations, free podcasts (we like Story Shed) etc as well as the cards (we have a lot of music ones, which include things like Abba, The Beatles etc, as well as story and spoken word ones).

DD is 6 and we have used it every day for the last 3.5 years!

Be careful if ordering this the photo doesn't tally with the description on what's for sale. This is what the description refers to Buy Rainbow High Little Dessert Shop Playset | Dolls | Argos

Oh no way! Sorry for that,I hadn't even realised so ill be returning mine once I collect it. Sorry again!

ILoveCatsAndKittens · 08/09/2025 19:10

Another vote for a Yoto player!

DS is 7 and had it for a couple of years. Customer service is excellent, ours developed a fault and they exchanged it really quickly. We had the monthly membership as well but cancelled it, very easy to cancel.
Son listens to the yoto daily every night before bed. The night light is very handy as well, his is set to turn blue at 7.30 so he knows that he cant get out of bed till then 😁 it's red during the night as apparently red helps aid sleep. He listens to the same card every night and this is on a loop through the night (hes autistic and likes routine and consistency!)
The yoto app also works on ipads and phones, so can be used whilst on holiday as well without taking the actual player.

As you can tell, avid Yoto lover!!

Has anyone received their Hollieslollies order yet? I got a confirmation email with the order but haven't heard anything else. Thanks

Mine came today. I got a selection to mix up and relabel. They're lovely and well go well with a bottle of something.

searchforthesun · 08/09/2025 19:18

Im a bit late to the thread so haven’t read it all but looking forward to catching up.
Space Nk has a free gift (worth over £300) if you spend over £175. I’m going to split it up, and either put together an advent calendar for my daughter, or to use for multiple presents.

We just got a big one to help with sleep! DD (3.5) has had a mini one which she likes and has had a gro clock but unfortunately the star count down on the gro clock was counter productive. It was set for 6:30 but she would wake about 5:30 and see only 1 star and think that meant it was nearly morning! Then stay awake coming in and out to us to tell us it was nearly morning 🤦‍♀️
We have had the Yoto now for 2 nights and it’s much improved. She has been waking at 6 and going back to sleep for a bit! Let’s see if it stays that way.
I also felt the blue light on the Yoto was too bright even on its lowest setting. And had ready blue isn’t good for sleep. She now has red at night and green in the morning.

For those that received their Holly's Lollies, did you get a dispatch email or did they just show up?

Happyinthecorner · 08/09/2025 19:26

I think this is a pricing error but Biscuiteers have their Christmas hamper tin priced at £20. 18% off with SWEET18.
I wasn’t sure about the freshness so I’ve selected delivery for 1st Dec and keeping my fingers crossed that they don’t cancel.
Nice biscuits, great for grandparents or those that have everything

(Thank you all.for the bargains and recommendations)

Our B and M is sadly lacking in the Christmas tea towels , but they are in the middle of putting things out , so perhaps by next week .

For anyone that uses a paper diary , they had ones that match my specific requirements, just in case yours are the same ! £3.50 , decent hard cover , pages thick enough to write on , spiral bound , an elastic ribbon that hold all my excess paper in place , A5 , and with pages for notes , week to a double page . Realised just how particular I am as I typed all that out , so probably just me !

Thank you for this. Your diary requirements exactly match mine so I will take a look. I don't often go in because it always seems rather busy and I hate having to queue but this price seems really good!
