Evening all!

Welcome to the first prequel thread of 2025

These tend to run slower than the run up to Christmas ones but doesn't mean there are no bargains!

Happy Christmas Bargain Shopping!

I’ve also had my Ghost sets, I ordered an extra as a spare gift, and I’m over the moon, they’re so heavy! And now they’re back up to £84 😳😳

hby9628 · 04/06/2025 11:25

@sillygoofi noticed the price increase yesterday when I tried to order another. I’ll keep an eye on it I think to see if it reduces again as it’s a lovely gift. Ghost perfumes are nice…I often wear them.

Hi everyone, any ideas for a work colleague who is 65 and retiring? Hoping for something around £20 mark

On a side note I've been eyeing up LSA Champagne glasses if anyone knows of a way to get discount on them. Cheapest I've seen is £33.

I know this is niche but this is the best group of people I cam think of to ask!

Is it a man or a woman? Any idea of what they like?

Also, the LSA glasses - which ones are you looking for? We can all keep an eye out for them.

Keep an eye on brandalley.co.uk for LSA glasses, I got the whole set I wanted there for a very good price a couple of years ago.

Thank you. A woman who is turning 65. Interests I'm not sure as always so busy with work and grandchildren! Into music and gigs though I cant afford tickets to anything.

I was looking at the LSA Moya champagne flutes but had a quick look at Brand alley as suggested by @DressOrSkirt and see a nice set of wine glasses for £15

At work we've had a few terrariums given as leaving/retirement gifts which have gone down well. They're supposed to be self sufficient so should survive if she's planning any travels in her retirement.

maybe something for the garden? Is that just my dream retirement?

a potted fruit tree? Sun dial? Nice barometer?

or a nice tea/coffee set, depending what she drinks. Emma bridgewater mug?

if you know a band she likes, lots of Etsy shops do graphic pictures with lyrics, though I always think you have to know somebody’s taste to give pictures

I'm on the lookout for end of year teacher gifts (male and female) if anyone has any bargainous recommendations please?!

I've bought teacher stickers for the last couple of years which have gone down well. These were on offer last week for £2 - I wouldn’t pay £10. You could probably find similar shopping around.

Oh these are very cute! Thank you!

Any other suggestions for something to put with these please? I'm usually sorted by now but just haven't seen anything bargainous!

Not really bargainous but I tend to go with a afternoon tea voucher. Its £35 for 2 at a nice local garden centre near me. I try to stay away from giving physical gifts as the usually get so many and plenty of duplicates too im sure.

Wellwhoknewthat · 06/06/2025 09:14

It's worth looking at the delivery options on Too Good To Go - they usually have Seedlip and Pukka etc

Arewesureitisntbedtime · 06/06/2025 12:57

Hearst magazines have quite a few '3 issues for £1' offers at the moment. I've just gone for the Good Housekeeping subscription and went through TopCashback which at the moment has tracked at £5.10, I'm not expecting it to pay out but I wanted the magazine anyway for some summer reading so if it does it will be a bonus.

If you sign up, don't forget to cancel otherwise the subscription will continue at full price.

Thank you! I've got 4 teachers to buy for and 2 transport as well. Love the afternoon tra idea but sadly I can't stretch to that amount!

Hi everyone

QVC have these L’Occitane crackers at £15.95 plus £4 P&p which makes them about £5 each : qvcuk.app.link/5uPiywM5YTb

Jacques of London have 30% off until Monday with Clearance30. It works on already reduced items too.
They have lovely toys and they come beautifully packaged. I got DD5 some wooden food when she was 2 and it's still played with and in great condition. She loves the pizza with all the removable toppings.

@Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho I always go for a homemade card and a £5 voucher for a local coffee shop - easy but useful!

Timetochangenow · 07/06/2025 10:54

@Famousthehero thank you so much for this! I missed it originally but added to my basket and it’s just gone down in price. My daughter will be thrilled!

hugsandpugs · 07/06/2025 15:04

Just realised I have a referral discount for anyone who wants to order for the offer above.
hopefully it’ll stack but if you use my referral it’ll give you £5 off an order of £20 or more so you’d save more than the 15% off with this 🥰

Silkrose · 07/06/2025 20:32

@hugsandpugs doesn't stack sadly, but used your referral code and got a better discount if I added a nail varnish 😊 thanks!
