Evening!

I'm tired after today, but the buffet was a success. Tomorrow it's dinner!

Everyone seems to love their gifts, which is always good. 😊 Bed soon as it's all go again from the morning!

We're going on a small caravan holiday today. LOs first one with us so I'm quite excited.
I've spent the morning packing up the car and remembering random things. Pretty sure the stuff we're taking is25% me and DH and 75% LO 😂

Magnolia me and DH have done a few cruises and I really like them.
The attentive service makes DH uncomfortable but I like being able to dress up for dinner and the mix of busy port days and lazy sea days.

Didn't see northern lights until we did a Christmas in Norway though!

NoWordForFluffy · 07/03/2025 18:20

Evening!

70, your cruise plans sound lovely! Magnolia, I fancy a Norway fjords cruise too. We've been to Iceland twice and only seen the NL here, the other month! 😩🤣

I'm #teamsofa for tomorrow. I've had a hard week. Though I did get a promotion at work, so that's good news! ☺️

Meeces, enjoy your little trip. I reckon it's more like the 80/20 rule re luggage. 🤣

Happy holiday Meeces. Yes the packing is very one sided when they're small but then they get to teenagers and you make the mistake of making them do their own packing and they just can't be arsed to pack anything and you end up buying extra pants and toothbrushes and swimsuits wherever you are.

So packing is always the domain of the mum (in my house anyway).

Congratulations on your promotion Fluffy! 👋And enjoy your sofa day, although I bet you don't sit around for long!

Its such a beautiful day here today. Dropped DH off at 7am for training and the sun was gorgeous over the Thames.

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 08/03/2025 10:54

I let my teen pack for himself once @Magnoliasunrise . He arrived at his grandparents with no underwear and no shoes (at all) because he got in the car with his slippers on.

Magnoliasunrise · 08/03/2025 19:22

Oh @GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick that's absolutely priceless 🤣

Congrats on the promotion @NoWordForFluffy

I haven't had to supervise packing for a while (thankfully) . When DD DH and I were away for a few days last December we had to make sure we had nice evening wear and walking about cities wear .
DD is pretty good , doesn't overpack .

I did some random gardening today , DH mowed the lawn.
I need to pick up an order tomorrow from Marks
And probably a load of washing or two .

Magnoliasunrise · 09/03/2025 07:59

Morning!

I did sooooooooo much gardening yesterday.

We had a grape vine that DH planted when we first moved in about 10 years ago and it just went rampant. We once made "wine" with the grapes but it was bloody awful. Then last year I attempted to make wreaths with the vine tendrils but they were crap and I vowed that this year I was going to dig it out. It took aaaaaaggggggeeeeeeessss and my hands are still sore but now we have a lovely hole ready for a hopefully 3ft honeysuckle that should arrive tomorrow. The wasps will miss the grapes but hopefully they'll like the honeysuckle instead.

I also swept up all the dead leaves and twigs so its looking nice and tidy.

Another beautiful day today.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/03/2025 10:58

Morning!

Glorious here too. ☀️

We've been to a dog field this morning with a friend, which was lovely. I need to do cleaning at some point, but I'm currently sitting in the lounge with the French doors open, enjoying the sunshine and warmth.

Our garden is still too wet to do anything with yet. Hopefully soon!

We think the house martins might be back, so looking forward to their 4am shouting on the balcony! 😩🤣

I've definitely seen the first swifts of the year today. Bit premature, mind, as we're set for cold weather again next week!

We are in the middle of sorting our garden. First job is building 3 sheds.

We need to sort and empty the loft. So sheds will help massively help with that as we found out we are pregnant...

Fantastic only we got rid of everything baby related. Apart from our beloved pram. Problem is it's buried at the back of the loft. And to get get to it we have to empty the entire loft 😰

I am at work today but it looks quite nice out my office window. Having takeaway pizza today to save me having to cook later.

Xmas Grin I bought my DC Easter Eggs at the weekend , there are often bargains (or you think they;re a bargain ) out there .

I did a wash this morning and DH put it on the line , it is merrily blowing about , hopefully dry ( the weekend was excellent washing weather !)

Morning!

I've not considered Easter eggs yet. Must think about it soon!

It's gone rather cold again today. It's sunny, but 🥶 Still got warm walking to the station, as its office day today. 😩 That's the warming effect of lugging a laptop!

OP posts:
Magnoliasunrise · 11/03/2025 18:57

I've also bought some Easter Eggs. I've given up chocolate for lent and getting withdrawal symptoms so at least I've something to look forward to. Got some Thorntons ones for the kids which is a bit of a tradition.

It was cold here too today - I was planning to turn the heating off but might leave it for a couple of weeks.

TeddyBeans · 11/03/2025 21:44

@sunshineandrain82 congratulations on your pregnancy! Will little one arrive around Christmas or early next year?

Not much christmassy related stuff going on here so I shall return to lurking... Watching Tulleys for their general release Christmas tickets though... Early bird tickets were released end of Feb but our fridge broke so all spare funds have gone towards paying for a new one. The joys of being an adult

Chilly and warm / sunny today, so a hard-to-dress kinda day!

Busy old day at work. So much to do...never ending!

We had hailstones earlier ....... Hail Xmas Shock That's like Snow with 'Tude , right ?

Then blue skies .
Cannot fathom - it was mid teens earlier in the week and lovely last weekend .

Magnoliasunrise · 13/03/2025 19:15

Ditto 70!!! I just did not know what sort of weather was coming next. All the seasons in one day. At one point the hail was quite biblical.

Morning Xmas Grin

DH and I went to see the "Inside Number 9 " stage show Stage/Fright
It was brilliant !
(No Spoilers )

It was cold even in central London

I have a (hopefully) relaxing day today . Just going to have some fresh bread ( overnight breadmaker loaf) smells amazing .

Have a good day y'all .

NoWordForFluffy · 14/03/2025 08:31

70, it's 286 as the countdown was missed yesterday!

Thankfully no hail here yesterday. It's cold though!

I love bread maker fresh bread. Could eat a whole loaf. 🤣

Hey from the new app 😳 I hate change but it seems ok so far.

Bitterly cold but with lovely blue sky here. LO is in nursery for a few hours so I’ve enjoyed the peace (for me this means watching crime shows with a cuppa) and have done some mending of ripped clothes and teddies for LO, niece and nephew.
house is pretty tidy so I’m going to tackle cleaning the windows, frames and sills in the conservatory before picking LO up.

That’s as productive as I plan to be today. It’s been a long week and we’re all coming down with yet another bloody cold 🙄

Morning , cold here but breezy , I have washing out already ( Preen)

I have two baskets of laundry to go through <sigh> as I sorted through my summer clothes (not to wear right now , but I needed to get a couple of tops so needed to colour match ) I will cram them into a bag and shove in a space in my wardrobe

NoWordForFluffy · 15/03/2025 10:39

Morning!

It's glorious here again. Bright blue sky, but a cold northerly breeze. We too have washing out and another load on the go. We'll do the lights / kids' bedding after that.

I've walked (ran!) the dog and don't intend on doing too much more today.

OP posts:
GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 15/03/2025 10:40

Morning @70isaLimitNotaTarget I have washing on the line as well. A bit more sun and it would be perfect drying weather. I put clothes I'm not going to use for a while in vacuum bags, they store much smaller that way.
