Afternoon fellow Christmas lovers,
work has been absolutely manic so I haven’t kept up with anything else since last Christmas - let alone Christmas crafts and preps. Just feeding myself relatively healthily and keeping my clothes and apartment clean were my limits. But DH is still fine and DD finished her year in Amsterdam, is still doing well in hockey and has just started a uni course in the Netherlands- only 90 minutes drive from me. And DH has discovered that the ferry/drive option to visit us is not as daunting as he had thought, so may do that more often.
The ferry was good though, as the forced inactivity meant I did a few hours on my cross stitch project (it’s still the same 2 trees and a reindeer in the snow that I started in August 2019, but slowly making progress).
I am currently back home for 2 weeks (including a few days visiting our DPs down south). So lots of cleaning and de cluttering and things like refilling the freezer with pre-cooked meals for DH…including a bag of crumble mix 😆 for easy desserts. And lots of personal appointments like dentist for a broken tooth, physio for a crocked back/neck/shoulders, hairdresser (Belgian hairdressers ignore their clients so I always get it done here) and refreshing the underwear drawer (shopping for larger sizes in anything but especially bras is hard in Belgium, and M&S are still not shipping overseas again for other bits).
We’ve also had the conversation- both DH and DD want to come back to my apartment for Christmas this year. But DD has a fear she may need to be here for training as, if she stays in the squad, she’ll be travelling to Czech Republic in early January so expects training over Christmas. So she will travel regardless but it may be back home - and hoping DH actually puts up a tree for us.
Now that I’ve recovered from the lang walk DH insisted on, and finished lunch, I need to get back to the drawers I was decluttering this morning.
Looking forward to the Bruce’s soon, given the low number of posts left in this thread 🤣
