Evening!

I'm tired after today, but the buffet was a success. Tomorrow it's dinner!

Everyone seems to love their gifts, which is always good. 😊 Bed soon as it's all go again from the morning!

Afternoon!

I'm in the Lego Discovery Centre. It's hell on earth! And we're both finding the hoards of kids here annoying. 😬🤣 I thought it would be quieter in term time, but there are a few school trips adding to the masses!

We've never done EotS, thank god!

How close are you to the Thinktank @NoWordForFluffy ? I went on a primary school trip there with DS and it was pretty cool, although my information may be out of date as he's sitting his alevels this year 😂

This really made me laugh - the years fly by don't they?

Hope you're surviving Lego Discovery Fluffy.

Its a lovely day here - I've got a couple of washes on the line. It makes me quite happy to have line dried washing.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/02/2025 16:38

Not only did I suffer / survive / endure the Discovery Centre, I then subjected myself to bloody SeaLife across the canal! 😩 God it's been a hard day! 🤣 On the train to Liverpool now, thank god.

It looks lovely outside. I imagine DH has had washing outside today too.

Into the two hundreds now
And ... <Pinch Punch> first of the month .

I reckon @NoWordForFluffy is having a lie in , even FluffyDog will be giving her the side eye and not daring to disturb.
It sounds like your DS enjoyed his trip though so it's worth putting up with Lego'n'Science for that . Xmas Grin

I am returning some trousers , putting a couple of things into Charity Shop then going looking for clothes for me ( probably won't buy them today but I want to look IRL then order online ) I don't like to impulse buy unless something really grabs me . So if I see something then buying it online gives me thinking space -and more likely to have the size/colour than instore .

When posters on Style&Beauty write "I've bought a load of clothes from Boden , spent £520 and it's all going back" it seems like a shopping spree for the thrill or the sake of it . No intention of buying , just a try on session.
I know the sale of goods online has better protection for the buyer .
But it just seems boastful and grabby in excess . Or a "Look at how good I am , not keeping this"
Which when I read the threads about clothes still hanging with tags , maybe it's a good thing ? I dunno .
No wonder the High Street is rubbish .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/03/2025 09:36

Add- trousers are DDs and returning as nearly see through !

One of my CS donations is 20 years old and still in great condition , but I;ll never use again so we'll part company .

NoWordForFluffy · 01/03/2025 10:43

Morning!

No lie in as such. I've been awake since 7, but did stay in bed til about 8.40. I was out running with the dog when you posted, 70! Bloody hound trying to kill me, dragging me 7km. 😩🤣 I'm just relaxing in the sunshine on the sofa with said dog who's chomping on carrots!

It's beautiful here today. Gloriously sunny, though chilly.

I detest clothes shopping, 70. S&B isn't my natural home! 🤣 The whole shebang just bores me and I struggle to get stuff due to being tall, with daft proportions (stupidly long legs and arms).

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/03/2025 16:17

My DD is like a giraffe , tall , slender , with long legs .
She fits an M&S size 8 long ( they've changed their fitting , I was a regular length at 5'5" but they can be too long now . DD is deffo a Long or maybe Extra Long in some )

Raindancer411 · 01/03/2025 22:53

Hi all, I found you all again. I was up early as has to take the youngest to a birthday party and then managed to get some drawing done. Using my Christmas presents at last!!

Morning!

Beautiful day today but I'm feeling tender headed as we went to the BRIT awards last night - guests of work colleague of DH. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was such good fun. Got a limited edition BRIT awards Tonys chocoloney bar which is DD's favourite choc so she was delighted with that but has already eaten half of it!! I thought she might keep it for a souvenir but she looked at me like that was wierd. Hmmmm.....

Back to normal today though and on with the washing.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/03/2025 20:37

HaHa , your DD is 100% right , chocolate is to be eaten, not saved . You can save the wrapper as a memento though .

There was a thread about the BRIT awards in MN last night , I skimmed through thinking "I am so out of touch I have no clue who half these people are ."
I recognised some names but I couldn't tell you any of their songs .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/03/2025 20:41

Oh and typically , my clothes shopping trip resulted in Nil , Nada, Diddly Squat and even the Square Root of Diddly Squat for me .

My Daughter otoh , came home with a pair of work trousers , a pair of lounge trousers , three tops and some face cream .

I evened up the balance ( a tiny bit ) ordering a dress from eBay .

NoWordForFluffy · 02/03/2025 21:28

70, I too struggled to recognise the artists' names at the BRITS! I'm not sure I've watched it since the Sam Fox / Mick Fleetwood debacle, mind! 🤣

Cold here again today. But dry, so got washing mostly dry. It's now hung on the drying racks in the downstairs loo.

297 morning everyone.
At the gym this morning so up and about early. Not working too hard cos I'm typing this from the exercise bike

NoWordForFluffy · 03/03/2025 13:33

Afternoon!

Today is my first Monday off due to starting flexible working. I'm working 10 in 9, so get every other Monday off. I have to say that it felt good knowing I wasn't working today!

I've done some housework, but in doing it today, I got to sit round yesterday! 😁

It's lovely here today. Really sunny. We have washing out. As ever!

Bright here but sooo cold .

DH is WFH tomorrow so I might put a wash on before I leave and he will hang it out , if it promoses to be bright'n'breey ..
I washed DS coat (Trespass one he's had it years but it was getting a bit manky ) . Cannot tumble dry so just hanging in the warmth indoors .

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 05/03/2025 12:26

295 lovely sunny day today. Washing out on the line and I have booked the lawnmower for a service. Spring is coming/here not sure which yet.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/03/2025 18:52

@GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick, isn't this the false spring? You think it's here, then it all goes to shit?! 🤣

It's really cold first thing (the grass in the woods had a light frost today), then much warmer later. Very hard to dress for the whole day in the morning if you have to leave the house!

I'm still able to post, against all odds, given the ban on ad blockers. I may still vanish at some point!

We've had a few consistent days of waking up to frozen cars, then blue sky and warm sun all day followed by 🥶 at night again. It's been lovely.

I've been putting washing out every day - my basket is clear 🥳
70 I actively went looking for things to wash and today that meant washing all the coats and DHs wool blanket.

Me and LO have also planted some flowers (we're taking a punt on some of last years that are still green and I picked up some random cheapie bedding plants). We're both thoroughly enjoying being out in the garden.

I've come to the conclusion that having to plant flowers every spring and have dead looking pots through the winter is going to annoy me so this summer I'm intending to pick some evergreen plants that flower and set them up in my pots - I can add some flowers if I want to but hoping to avoid barren looking pots.

Also discovered this week that while I was distracted by LO last autumn, my strawberry plants spread themselves out from their designated to planter to the one next to it, the one next to that and a trough I used for bulbs 😳

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 05/03/2025 20:53

Also, glad you're still here @NoWordForFluffy !

MakeTeaNotWar · 06/03/2025 12:45

I've booked tickets for A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic

Sounds really good Tea , it is a nice feeling when you have something planned .

DH,DD and I are going up to Glasgow in December , just a weekend but enough time to visit the old sights .

My next mission is sorting out clothes for a holiday next month and find a dress . Try to guess what I;ll need to pack , have it all washed and ready then decide nearer the time what to take .
Avoid the dreaded OverPacking ( bit like avoiding The Twitch Xmas Grin )

Magnoliasunrise · 06/03/2025 16:53

A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic sounds like a fab idea.

ooooooh 70 where are you going? I can't wait to start packing for holidays, now we've had some bright sunny days seems like Summer isn't far away.

I've had the day off and got a few washes dried on the line. Also started watching Toxic Town which is brilliant - love Jodie Whittaker.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/03/2025 11:10

We're going on a cruise Magnolia Mediterranean ( I was trying to spell that an had to look it up . That would get me a lot of points on Scrabble ! Xmas Grin )

I need clothes for onshore (comfy shoes , layers , cover shoulders ) , clothes for Sea Days ( loose layers , look a bit cared for ) sunbathing ( I have swimsuits and sarong ) evenings ( smart casual ) Formal Nights , (nice frock) ...I have these ..........except my important Wedding Anniversary Dress ,
And some fancy shoes .
I quite like the idea of a jumpsuit which I will wear again, rather than a formal dress . I have enough sequins to dazzle Liberace !
I have an idea what shoes I want but do they exist ....?

On a more positive note , I have washing out and I've vacummed
I bought a dress from eBay that I'm pleased with .

I will book to get my hair cut , I dye it myself then just need to wax/epilate and might ....might paint my toenails !

Magnoliasunrise · 07/03/2025 13:57

oooooh 70 sounds very exciting. DH and I waiver over cruises thinking they aren't for us but then we watch Jane McDonald and think they look quite good fun. I would really like to see the northern lights so I do fancy a Norwegian fjord cruise.

And you're celebrating your wedding anniversary as well. It sounds like you're going to have a fabulous time.

Happy nearly weekend everyone. I'm planning to get stuck into LOTS of gardening tomorrow hoping to turn the boggy, branch and leaf strewn jungle into a thing of beauty. Or I may just sit on the sofa with a coffee and not look at it.
