Things keep popping into my mind "ooo gotta do X" and I need to write a proper list, but this is what I've remember so far...

Wrap DD's presents.
Get cheese.
Steam mop hard floors (have been using the Flash speed mop for a couple of weeks feels like they need a proper go).
Find the FC stocking paper (red tissue).
Clean guest bathroom (including annoying mildew corner).

What have you got left?

We cleared the spare room this morning. It was also a dumping ground. Including one box we have not unpacked since we moved in 2023.

We also have charity shop stuff to drop off, but I might wait until the new year.

Also need to dust landing ceiling which which is looking a bit too haunted-house-spidery for my liking.

Finish off one present I'm making, wrap three, wait for my Xmas shop on Monday then done. I should probably do some cleaning but I'm a bit 'fuck it, it's Christmas'

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 21/12/2024 14:02

I'm wrapping presents this afternoon but I know I'll run out of gift cards/labels. So I'll use what I have. Tomorrow I need a food shop so a trip to Aldi. Tuesday I'll go early to Tesco for the fresh stuff I need. Then the garden centre for gifts of bulbs.

HarrietJonesFlydaleNorth · 21/12/2024 14:09

I've just put my red cabbage in the oven to braise :)

Will probably do the cauliflower cheese the day before. Maybe the roasted root veg too as that stands up to reheating pretty well.

HarrietJonesFlydaleNorth · 21/12/2024 14:09

Got one present left to be delivered so hoping it turns up Monday!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 21/12/2024 14:10

Rearrange the dining room so there’s space for everyone and everything

Good clean of the bathrooms and floors

M&S collection before work on Monday

Work Monday and Tuesday

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 21/12/2024 14:12

Pretty much all of it. Could not even think about it until I finished school yesterday. Trying to decide if I CBA to decorate this weekend.

HashTagLil · 21/12/2024 14:13

Collect the meat from the village butchers and put away the food delivery Monday evening. If we haven’t got it, we don’t need it or won’t starve.

TuesdayNameChangeArama · 21/12/2024 14:14

Oh yes... the cooking.

Tomorrow I'll be baking ginger cake (Nigella's recipe), and a mince meat cake. I've already braised and frozen the red cabbage.

On Christmas Eve, we'll roast the gammon (which I only remembered and added to my shopping order about an hour ago)!

Put the Christmas tree up
Buy presents for SIL & mother
Wrap all the presents
Buy Christmas Day dinner & general food shop
Tidy the living room

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 21/12/2024 14:20

I've got to give the house (floors mostly) a good going over, but it's been wet and the dog will just muddy them up again so I'm in no hurry. I've been a bit 'not quite 100%' this week so I'm taking today and tomorrow to chill and rest, everything is under control and nobody will die if I don't get the floors clean. Two daughters are coming to stay on Monday so they can help make a start on the food prep and Christmas Eve is when I finish work so I can start cooking after that.

I'm actually feeling quite smug this year because all the presents were bought and wrapped in good time, they're nearly all delivered, shopping is done, tree is up... I wonder what's going to go wrong?

Peridot1 · 21/12/2024 14:20

Deliver village Christmas cards
Wrap all presents
Change a book I bought for DH as DS got him the same one
Change beds
clean bathrooms
Clean kitchen
wash floors
sort pile of things I had to take out of drawers in my bathroom for plumber access
start clearing spare rooms for guests coming on 29th so that might wait till after Christmas
buy some wine
pick up Waitrose order
pick up my medication from Boots
pick up trousers I had altered

That is quite a lot!

KimFan · 21/12/2024 14:22

*Do a full house clean on Christmas Eve, including changing bed linen and washing and drying all towels.
*Wrap all my gifts.
*Sort out my dining room (currently a gift storing and wrapping production line!) and lay my Christmas table.

worriedgal · 21/12/2024 14:22

Clean and decorate garden room- we started this today but things were a little damp so drying it out and will finish tomorrow- we are having mulled wine and nibbles in there on Christmas Eve.

Wrap two bits I found in my wardrobe for dd3

Make table centrepiece

Deliver local Christmas cards

Sort a cheese board to take to a friends on Monday night for a party.

TooManyCupsAndMugs · 21/12/2024 14:23

Plan Christmas day food and buy it on Monday. Take glass to bottle bank. Wash Christmas tablecloth and napkins. General tidy round but otherwise sorted. No extended family coming, so it shouldn't be too stressful!

Floralnomad · 21/12/2024 14:25

I’m finished , 2 more presents are arriving tomorrow but husband does all the wrapping ( he’s gone to my sisters to help with her wrapping today) . We are eating elsewhere over Christmas and I have plenty of food until then . My husband goes with my sister to collect the meat order / M&S etc as they are all too early in the morning for me .

anonny55 · 21/12/2024 14:25

Have a big deep clean
Go Tesco for the vegetables and trimmings (got the meat last week!)
Do a food shop for the days before and after Christmas
Complete1 more day at work

Have a pamper before the big day!

CactusPat · 21/12/2024 14:25

All food shopping
Finish wrapping
Clean bathroom
Regret buying the kids things with millions of pieces and swear not to do so next year
