Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Very have the Hotel Chocolate Velvetiser for £86.95 which I think is a good deal if Hotel Chocolate itself aren’t doing the £30 off for members anymore. Also 20% off your first credit order with a new email address which you can then pay back immediately.

I suppose it depends on the age of the wearer but DD (13) and her friends all wear lined crocs with socks! It gives me the ick though 😂

I've been using the sleep kind patches (I guess they are called dream now) since they were posted on here last year. I have eczema and sensitive skin and haven't had any issue with them! I'll stock up again while they are half price!

Most of the products on there (Approved Foods) are beyond their best before date. I've bought a fair few food & drink items and they've all been fine (although an Easter egg was in pieces). Always check the dates, though, as some are just a few weeks or months beyond date, others are years beyond.

I've only bought one skincare item, a Weleda facecream, and it smelt 'off' (ie it smells like the oil in it has gone rancid). I imagine this might only be a problem with the more natural brands like Weleda that don't put chemicals in their products.

It's put me off buying more skincare from there though, as it wasn't that much cheaper than it would have been at full-price elsewhere.

Lined crocs can get stinky which is why I said wear them with socks!

I looked in ikea yesterday for you but there were no rats whatsoever, discounted or otherwise. I wonder if they’d discounted them as they’re discontinuing them. Hopefully someone can find you some 🤞🏻

I thought these fleecy suits in Peacocks looked quite good value for £7.50. That’s most of my little guys sorted. I also got an adult one for ds3 @£19.50 and matching slippers but we won’t mention those. Lots of other “winter warmers”. Thanks to the PP who linked to them.

Heads up that Blue light discount stacks with the urban outfitter Stanley cup discount. Got it for £29.70!

It was me who originally said about the £1.50 rats in ikea. I saw them in Southampton, they weren't with the toys they were with the discounted stuff by the tills.

Unfortunately we were only there for a show and its a 1hr45 train journey from me so can't pick them up!

I also ordered on 19th October. Had shipping email on 5th November. The tracking code doesn’t work so we’ve put in a chargeback on our card as I don’t think it will arrive now.

There’s 20% off selected Amazon ‘resale’ (used to be warehouse) but I find it a complete nightmare to navigate.

i did see for example a like new Furby for £38, I took screenshots but didn’t buy it, was just snooping so it may be there if anybody wants it!
