Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Can anyone recommend some earphones (flat connector) for my 12 year old son please. Most ear bud type ones don't seem to fit in his ears properly. Happy to look at over ear (if they fold down maybe). Not too £££ as hell probably, loose or break them 🙄

Kind Patches are 4 for 2 as a BF offer. Never used them but first heard of them on this thread last year as posters were getting them as stocking fillers for teens.

Oh I went straight for your link thinking they were some sort of cool iron-on patches. I've had a good read of the trust pilot reviews and quite a few people reporting side effects from sticking these health and wellbeing patches on their bodies. Sorry, but just thought it was worth mentioning.

You're clearly an expert 😂 I think I'm going to have to sacrifice my dignity and lurk around feeling up bags!

Just alot of experience 😂 alot of people do feel the bags, they are too expensive to get a load of dupes! Good luck!

Haha I love that you brought scales with you @Timpat, hard core!

Also can I give a big shout out to @hugsandpugs who sent me some of her bonus ELf lip glosses to help ease my FOMO. My nieces will be so delighted with them.

Has anyone used Shein and can confirm it's a genuine site? Is it a bit like Temu etc with safety issues and long delivery times or a bit better? Thanks.

Don't forget to go through top cashback and use any codes.

Chunkychipsohyeah · 21/11/2024 16:00

@Aquicksitdown regards Totes slipper boots, I got some in a large branch of Sainsbury’s a couple of weeks ago so that could be worth a look.

Approved food have some great offers on Elemis products, including 3 pots of cleansing balm for £45 which I've just ordered. Free delivery over £55 spend. £5 cashback for new customers on Top Cashback. I've ordered from them a few times.

I think my original post has been hidden because I used a short link created through bitly, not sure why else so long link here

https://approvedfood.co.uk/brand/elemis/?srsltid=AfmBOorEdfy3E8tSiFHRZABRVqXgYZhiPCI7Aca-G0gysyoZMdlRR_9W

Are they legitimate? Those prices look too good to be true!

They are legit, they sell short dated items mostly so I would imagine the Elemis will be near its expiry date. I have skin care sitting in cupboards that are likely are way past their expiry fates though so wouldn’t bother me overmuch!

Marks and Spencer have 2 for £16 on their kids pajamas including lots of very cute Christmas styles that are still in stock. They also have 20% off kidswear for sparks users which counts towards this offer. So I just got two pairs of pajamas for £12.80 that are normally £12 each.

@FernArable was the 20% off on your sparks card? I have 4 pairs of boys pyjamas in my basket but can’t bear to check out if there’s a discount going. All I’ve got on my sparks card is artificial Christmas trees!

Yes used them a few times and they’re genuine. The quality can be variable and delivery was quite long IIRC

@paula93 I think you’ve crashed Peacocks. It won’t let me add anything to my basket!

It was on my card, sorry! I hate when they give everybody different codes. Although I am quite grateful that I got one of the good discounts this time!

Croc wearers
i could do with some advice please. Dh’s first pair. Lines or not lined?
thank you!

@BourbonsAreOverated I bought ds3 the lined ones a couple of years ago. I thought he would like them as he loves everything soft. He couldn’t stand them and I charity shopped them. He wants ordinary ones this year. However bourbons are his favourite biscuit.

Apologies if I'm completely imagining this and sound crazy, but did someone mention on a previous thread about the IKEA rats being around £1.50?
If on the off-chance I'm not imagining this and they are down to that, would someone be an absolute star and pick 3 up for me please (obviously if going there anyway)? Of course will cover all costs, happy to even go through Vinted if that makes things any easier 🤞🏻

@issantahereyet Did anyone get back to you on the IKEA rats? I'm headed there tomorrow if you want me to have a look.

Thanks for the discount code Carys10 for the Gymshark sale. There are some decent reductions in the sale.
