Thread 9 - the one with a kink for L’Occitaine

Reastie · 04/11/2024 18:52

Thanks @Travelcrazy for the title. It really tickled me!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Edited

I don’t think they do codes any more, just money off via Sparks.

But I did realise a few weeks ago that you can open multiple Sparks accounts using different email addresses and just see which one has the best offers at the time. Plus when you open one, the first offer is usually 10% off.

Ooh, thanks for the boots code. Have a few bits to get from there so will save me £££

What's the BOOTS CODE please?

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 05/11/2024 08:44

BananaWoman999 · 04/11/2024 22:17

Boots are doing £5 off every £40 spend on 'baby' items but includes toys, so worth checking before ordering toys through other sites. Lego, marvel, tonies, etc all included. Code is BABYNOV5

@Mikki77 it was this post with the Boots info

OkyDoke · 05/11/2024 08:49

Sorry, that was for @MamaK19

Just a reminder to look on ebay and vinted for anything you are finding difficult to source. Dd1 has been searching for a particular book, out of print for years, have it on Biblio watchlist but every copy is in America and £50 plus before postage and any taxes. Today was on ebay to leave feedback thought I'd search title on the off chance and there it was in a bundle with two others she already has for £10 including postage. It will make her Christmas, there will be tears, I will pop it in her stocking as I always put a book in, it will be such a surprise. Nothing I buy from now will be in any way as big a hit though.

Feeling quite emotional about this, I bet you’re over the moon! What’s the book?

hiredandsqueak · 05/11/2024 09:06

It's one of the Charmed series of books, she kept them all that I bought her from her being 11 or so, she is early 30s now. A few years ago she became aware of one she hadn't got and has been hunting it ever since. No idea whether it was only released in America but the only copies that have come up have all been there. It really will be the biggest hit, I can hardly believe I saw it this morning.

sillygoof · 05/11/2024 09:18

I’m so happy for you ❤️

Aromatherapy Associates have 35% off with: LOYALTY35

rhubarbhandsoap · 05/11/2024 10:32

Does anyone happen to know if L’Occitane will do any offers better than 10% off (for new email sign ups)?

They are doing free gifts over certain spends but I’d rather get money off if possible!

ImTheMidsomerMurderer · 05/11/2024 10:47

Not sure if this has been posted, but £20 back off a £75 purchase at Quidco with these retailers:

@rhubarbhandsoap ime, the best discounts for L’occitane come via other companies that sell it, such as LF, who often have discounts of 20%+.

Of course, they don’t stock the whole range, so it depends on what you want.

it's worth keeping an eye open on Amazon. I saved about 25% on a couple of items in their Prime Day offer in October.

Following - looking for stocking fillers/ advent calendar ideas for teen Dds. I've already got them a beauty one to share but would love some other ideas.

On the name necklaces, they have quite a few options on Not on The High Street. Probably not the cheapest but generally nice quality.

Edited to add link. There's also 15% off with the code Surprise15.

siansattic · 05/11/2024 11:26

Mountain Warehouse have some good deals across the site at the moment. https://www.mountainwarehouse.com/christmas. Clearance stuff up to 70% off.

Serenitesanta · 05/11/2024 11:30

So happy for the poster above who sourced the special book for her daughter 😇 I can imagine the excitement and delight you feel, it’s wonderful

nothingtoseehereatall · 05/11/2024 11:39

Love lurking on this thread for top spots and bargains, thanks all

Finally time to ask something.. teen DD wants Adidas Spezials for Christmas (along with every other teen in the universe). Doesn't look to me like any codes whatsoever to be had but if anyone has spotted anything, please let me know! Either on Adidas itself or any of the shoe retailers that stock them.
