Reastie · 04/11/2024 18:52

Thanks @Travelcrazy for the title. It really tickled me!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Boots are doing £5 off every £40 spend on 'baby' items but includes toys, so worth checking before ordering toys through other sites. Lego, marvel, tonies, etc all included. Code is BABYNOV5

Fuckingfuckssake · 04/11/2024 22:18

@TopThreeFTW it is, PM me!

Russell Hobbs stand mixer. Hard to tell but think this is 39.99

Says it's 120 quid in argos?!

Edited

I'm probably being thick but can't see how to buy this, it just links me through to Argos

Really random/niche discount I know. But with anyone with children who have ADHD OR ASD the. STIX we're doing a good discount. Just go the their website and the offer pops up. We bought the Stix and they've been incredibly helpful to DD

stixmindfulness.co.uk

Could you let me know what the discount or code is please - I can’t see anything on the site and it’s coming up as £159? Thanks

KenIsAnAccessory · 04/11/2024 22:26

Ooh, thanks for the boots code. Have a few bits to get from there so will save me £££

hugsandpugs · 04/11/2024 22:30

Does anyone know the cheapest place to get a men’s white Ralph Lauren beanie? It’s something DS has asked for 😬

Fuckingfuckssake · 04/11/2024 22:32

@okayhescereal I bought from them ages ago and now they just randomly send me discount codes every now and again, so don't lose hope!

Next request from me- any recommendations for Affirmations Cards for a slightly Anxious nearly 8 year old- doesn't actually have to be a bargain! Thanks.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 04/11/2024 23:00

I knew there was something else I was going to ask. Any recommendations for personal name necklaces for tweens? An awesome discount would help too 🤣

It flashed up for me today but now I can't see it. But this site has a 10% sign up discount I think. alittlefind.com/collections/stix-mindfulness
We bought an original set and then a second set for other DD from vinted I think. So worth a look there first as they're expensive. But they've been really helpful for us to help with sleep.

I got DD a worry doll with affirmation from Rex London. It was about £1 and is tiny but very cute. You just get a random one although maybe they'd send a selection if you ordered more. She got one that said you're beautiful. It's going in her stocking.

I got a roll of stickers on Temu that say really lovely affirmations. I stick one on her sandwiches every day :)

Pinkladymel · 04/11/2024 23:31

MINI FRIDGE
We have the Russell Hobbs and it's been great albeit slightly noisy.

I bought a pack of empty bottles from Temu and she fills them with water so she has ice cold water when she is doing homework or wakes in the night.

I buy those mini cans and they're always on offer. I think they're just the right size for a Saturday treat.

She loves the assorted bag of babybels.

I have little storage tubs from Poundland and fill with nuts and dried fruit etc. The rule is one snack per day. Usually when she gets in from school.

She has started to put her face masks in the door.

InbetweenDreams · 04/11/2024 23:42

@mummydoris2006 thats so kind of you! I have actually ordered one this evening from Amazon hoping it will be nice, and planning on returning if it isn’t, but that is really kind of you to offer!

Thank you for this, I haven't seen these before. Just bought some for my daughter hoping they might support her in self regulation. Thank you xx
