Long time lurker. Even longer Christmas lover. Here's my tree from last year. Please share photos and spread the joy of the season. I will never apologise for being a Christmas addict.

Wow I love this thread. Nearly as much as Christmas fridges.

This is mine. 98% of the decorations including the fairy were hand made by me.

Oh wow! Over the years, I presume? How long did they take you?

They have all been made over the last 3 years. Some only take me and hour or so and some like the mini Waldorf dolls take a lot longer. I normally start around September making new ones.

Are they from patterns? Do you have any links for them or a similar kind of thing?

Can you talk me through this - how long will it be inside for, do you have to do anything to acclimatise it or not, does it go out in a pot or you put it in the ground etc…I’ve tried to do this before unsuccessfully.

When are we doing that? Count me in!

Is that real or artificial? It looks amazing.

For those of you who use a cut real tree, when do you get it?

You put water in the base pop your tree in the middle and use the peddle to tighten around the base of the tree. So the tree can soak up water and last longer.

If you have an odd shaped trunk mine is great to adjust the claws to sit the tree straight. I will check for the exact one I have tomorrow.

Way better than a bucket!

Usually get it at beginning December and stand outside in bucket of water.
Put it up indoors about 7th/8th Dec and take down 2nd January

I use 100% wool felt or at least 40% wool felt. I find the 100% synthetic felt not good and I hate working with it.

The Christmas Fridge thread is my favourite but it’s always ruined by the killjoys shouting how disgusting it is and moaning at posters to read the room 🤣😂

I put it outside in its pot for a few days to get used to the temperature change, then just dig a hole, chuck it in and hope for the best! I guess it's down to whether the type of tree and type of soil is compatible, but they've always survived so far!

Yes but to be fair it is clearly labelled, and people don’t have to click on it. I’ve not clicked on so many threads in the past due to finances. Plus lots of people have guests staying or eating with them, where else are they going to put the food?! And quite a few people seem to save all year round. I like them.

And definitely agree, all the trees are so different from each other, and so lovely.

Oh I’m so excited to look at the Christmas trees! I’d really like to see outside lights/decorations if people are happy to put photos up, but as someone who doesn’t do it myself it feels slightly cheeky to start a thread to ask purely for my vicarious pleasure! I have put spiced orange winter oil in my diffusers today though, if that counts as Christmassy. I did put chocolate advent calendars for children in the food banks last month, and I donate to the local Christmas toy appeal. (If anyone does the same, I bought some small toys/crayons etc then saw a sign at the drop off point saying they’d been asked for children’s hats, scarves and gloves too, which wasn’t something I’d thought about ).

@MenorahCandles I haven't started my outside decorations yet and have a new Christmas tree so will finish that tomorrow. But this is my fireplace 👍🎅🎄
