Sorry - I panicked with the title Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I'm already viewed within this circle as a bit of a heathen, that would out me completely for the Witch I am!

I’m looking for some bargain nail
polishes in a variety of colours. We had a bathroom cabinet disaster earlier in the year that smashed almost every one we had, and left the floor and walls looking as though a unicorn massacre had happened… (upside, new lovely flooring and bathroom redecorated so not all bad)
My daughters (and I probably too) would like some to replace what was lost. Any ideas of sets/ brands? (I think they were mainly No7/ Ted Baker but I can’t remember) I thought I’d put some in stockings for us all.

What ages for the Plouise lip balms do we think? I need to buy for a 16-nearly-17 year old, not sure if thats the right group?

What’s your budget? My DD 17 loves the DIor lip balms/lip oils. Pricey though (Boots and John Lewis occasionally discount).

@OKScarpetta TKMaxx is good for sets and minis - I favour OPI but DSis likes Essie. Better in store than online but they have this Nails Inc set online at the moment - should be able to find the contents if you google?

OPI is amazing and QVC often do deals at this time of year like a six pack of holiday colours etc.

Alternatively, bargains are to be had right now on vinted and ebay with everyone getting rid of the nail polishes they don't want from their beauty advent calendars

Do Argos tend to cut prices for Black Friday? I want to order a Nintendo Switch Lite from there but wondering if I would be better to wait until Black Friday?

Wellwhoknewthat · 29/10/2024 13:59

I've just noticed that the "Too Good To Go" app now has bundle offers for delivery - at the moment there are several that could be good for gifts including Tony's Chocoloney and Prime drinks

There’s rarely big switch discounts. your better off looking at things like very discounts or game discounts. Or getting one from cex

ToffeeSquirrels · 29/10/2024 14:13

I've been looking at perfumes for Christmas gifts. Debenhams online have some prices that seem 'too good to be true'. Has anyone bought from them recently, are the perfumes Genuine?

Thank you. Just didn't want to buy it then see it £50 cheaper or something.

There is this set from Plouise. No names that could offend the Pearl clutchers.

DD 13 seems to think it’s more popular amongst ‘Tweens’ so 10-12 age group.
Charlotte Tilbury, Rare Beauty, Summer Friday etc are very popular in her friendship circles.

They had Emily in Paris nail varnishes 3 in a box bogof for £3.99 in Lidl .
I was sorely tempted . I don't know if they are suitable but l thought 6 nice coloured nail varnishes for £4 was a bargain !

Curry’s still has 25% off the brand new Mario switch game ‘Brothership’ on pre-order here. It comes with a free Mario and Luigi keyring too.

BROTHER25 brings it down from £49.99 to £37.49

I have my Nespresso! Bargain of the year for me. Thanks so much to the original poster of the deal :)

Ocean59 · 29/10/2024 15:01

Oh bugger, I missed the qvc ninja airfryer offer. Any idea if they'll repeat it?

Monstermunch67 · 29/10/2024 15:03

I would be really grateful if anyone knew of a discount for the FUM (not a vape), vape type thingy. My adult son is hard to buy for, has almost everything he needs and keeps telling me not to worry about gifts, but has been looking at these for a while. It's a bit beyond my budget, so keeping everything crossed that someone can pull a discount out of a hat for me. Apologies if the link is pants, I'm a bit of a technophobe.

Sunshine415 · 29/10/2024 15:45

If you ordered from Cuisinart, did you get any tracking info?
we’re now away for the next few days and my lovely aunt is going to pick it up. Just hoping I’ll be able to tell her when 🙈
thank you!

winewolfhowls · 29/10/2024 15:47

Adding to comments about contigo travel mugs, TKMAXX usually have lots of these at about 12-16 quid at different sizes.

BoysBagsShoes · 29/10/2024 15:54

Just had my delivery from Hot Diamonds and would highly recommend. Ordered a silver bracelet for DSD, originally £60, then £30, then £15 and free P&P with various codes! Packaging makes it look extra special and I know she will love this. Thanks you to all of you who provided codes!

Ilovepugs2017 · 29/10/2024 16:06

Would anyone happen to have any discount codes for the oddballs site?

bluesky · 29/10/2024 16:20

bluesky · 29/10/2024 16:21

Spinningaround18 · 29/10/2024 16:29

Those of you have have received their Nespresso offer - did you get the machine and the pods at the same time? I’ve only got a box of 80 pods delivered but no machine…!!!
