Sorry - I panicked with the title Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

There's a few nice bits in the John Lewis 20% off sale. I've just got a Melissa and Doug large vehicle stamp set for £21.

Other bits which looked popular were Pokemon/Harry Potter Squishmellows and a very cute kids Lakeland baking set all discounted.

Any inspiration for nursery teacher gifts?! Two young women (16-20) and two women probably in their early 40's! I like to do similar for all! Last year I got the bargain nail polish calendar from this thread (Ciate???) and gifted it for the beginning of December to share in the staff room!

Depending on budget... a Costa voucher, bottle of wine or something generic like a candle. Def not the 'helping me grow'/best teacher stuff as they'll get loads and what do you do with it?
Or a box of biscuits/cakes/chocolates, coffee and tea for them to share in the staffroom.

The cotingo cups are brilliant- both types. Can shake them in your bag and they never leak. We all have one. Only issue is you need to make your drink a bit cooler as they retain heat so we'll you can burn yourself if you aren't careful. They are often £10 on amazon and currently £10 in Asda and morrisons I think. Come.in a variety of sizes and colours.

Not sure if already been posted skimmed through and couldn't see. PLouise Bad Bitch Energy Lip Duo are £22.00 but are doing 3 for £25 on their website. I got three for my nieces and an obsessed skincare bundle for £20.00 instead of 40.

Thank you so much for this. The hot brand of the year. Saved me a fortune.

LED lenser have some sale items including this keyring torch that would be a fun stocking filler for men. My DH loves his head torch from them.

@Rescue2024 code SALE50 takes 50% off sale items then JEWELS stacks for free delivery.
If full price code HDTE25 should take 25% off then JEWELS again.

Do you know which the best flavours are? I’m thinking of taking a chance for nieces but don’t know whether to go for what I think sounds nice or if there are ‘in’ flavours

onedayatatime73 · 28/10/2024 23:12

I've no idea. When I looked at the website it looks like the contents are the same. Just different links packaging? To be honest. I don't know.

Thelifeofawife · 28/10/2024 23:18

@onedayatatime73 There were lots of different flavours for the lip gloss, you click on the one/s you want and add to basket.
I’ll just get simple flavoured ones to be on the safe side

I have never heard of this brand but ordered 3 for stocking fillers based on the assumption the teen girls will have heard of them. They'll think I'm so cool. Probably.

onedayatatime73 · 28/10/2024 23:34

It's all about what they've seen on TikTok!

Restlessinthenorth · 29/10/2024 07:29

Our nursery is next door to a supermarket so we’re giving them a gift voucher for that and a little note to use it to go and buy snacks and treats in January when they need a pick me up. I worked in a preschool and we always have loads of chocolate in December but January was a bit of a slog.

Love the advent calendar idea though - there is a stationery one that I’ve had before, could that work?

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 29/10/2024 07:55

Remember if you search ‘Christmas’ on Next clearance there are some good bargain jumpers and pyjamas.

Someone mentioned they do a box of chocolates, biscuits and variety of tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc and gift it at the start of December for the staff room. Thought that was a nice idea :)

hby9628 · 29/10/2024 08:24

@Thelifeofawife my DD has had the watermelon flavour which she liked

Favourites among DDs friends are donut, cinnamon roll and toasted marshmallow. I’ve ordered these 3 as gifts and tempted to get more at that price as the sets do look great and are well received.

Ilovechristmasfalalalalalala · 29/10/2024 08:52

Iv also ordered the plouise lip balms. My daughter has been wanting one for ages so she will be made up when she has 3! She wanted the birthday cake and I also got donut and vanilla flavour.
