Sorry - I panicked with the title Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Reductions in some of the little people sets on Amazon (sorry nice links aren't working for me)

Friends - https://amzn.eu/d/cStfbUy

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - https://amzn.eu/d/1Kb2yw3

Harry Potter and the Philosopher´s Stone - https://amzn.eu/d/323VSq9

Harry Potter set(s) also available in Smyths at £14.99. Apparently that's their normal price there but better than the £20 Argos is asking for. Also price matched at John Lewis 🙂

Omg I have just ordered Harry potter for myself. I'm so excited 😆

@TimPat My local TK Maxx always has tons of these reduced if you haven't already tried there, it's the only time I ever buy them!
& Tesco currently has them on 2 for £7 if that's any help!

Has anyone seen any offers on Little People Big Dreams books? DS collects them and at £8-10 per book on average it gets expensive! He already has the large treasury book and the scientists and musicians collections.

Five books for £21.49 here: https://www.books2door.com/products/little-people-big-dreams-inspiring-artists-and-writers-gift-5-books-box-collection-set-maya-angelou-anne-frank-frida-kahlo-coco-chanel-audrey-hepburn-ages-7-9-hardback-frances-lincoln?gadsource=1&gbraid=0AAAAADvHX9dxLzWEBSmdb2CDidwSMoMsX&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7Py4BhCbARIsAMMx--Idok9kWhQLz-WQ0iXIwS0z0vAiCpnYowcxANhn7uy2mKqfemaqB-caAqf-EALwwcB

Lidlisthebusiness · 28/10/2024 14:46

@MaybeMrs mine has just arrived too. I thought it would have an inner lid on maybe, but there's nothing on it. Not sure whether to contact them or not really.

thisgirlloveschristmas2024 · 28/10/2024 14:58

I have some free boxes on HelloFresh (new customers) if anyone would like one pm me. I have posted on here rather than the referral thread as I don't receive an incentive these are just free boxes. Hope thats ok 😊

RainbowZebraWarrior · 28/10/2024 14:59

@HeadOfGregor someone on vinted is selling a set of 2 halloween mice (one is the vampire one and one is the witch) for £20.

I guess you could message them and ask if they will sell you the vampire one separately.

If you search dracula mouse it will come up.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 28/10/2024 15:09

Re Elemis one of the reviews on Amazon says they contacted Elemis about it and they confirmed there isn't meant to be an inner lid and also that it will be filled accurately. I'm not sure how we'd know without measuring the contents of the jar somehow

@JessR26385 thanks for this. I think it will be good for my god daughter. It won't stack with my student code but £17ish is still a good price I think. Does anyone know of any bargain advents for a nearly 12 year old boy, just started secondary school? Not particularly sporty, into coding and sciencey stuff please?

The Pi Hut has a couple of coding advent calendars that look really fun. They’re only 12 days though, but I’m sure there are extension activities!

Maker Advent Calendar - The 12 Projects of Codemas (inc. Raspberry Pi Pico H)

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 28/10/2024 17:23

I ordered the Nespresso (🐑) fully expecting it to be cancelled but I had notification from DPD today that it will be delivered tomorrow. Had to redirect it as we are away and I never really thought it would come 😂

Londonmummy66 · 28/10/2024 17:26

It is very kind of you - maybe you could offer them on the thread where the OP and others are saying that they don't eat so their children can https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/amibeingunreasonable/5196239-to-have-frugality-fatigue-cost-of-living?page=5&reply=139375851

I think they'd be a godsend for some of the posters on there.
