Sorry - I panicked with the title Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I love these threads every year. So many things I didn’t know I needed seem to fall into my basket…

I’m on the mooch for some help please. I need to buy a Fred Perry polo (£75) and a Jaws Lego set (£130) Can’t bear to pay full price so if anyone has seen any amazing deals or offers, I would be eternally grateful. Flowers

Edited

designerwear.co.uk has 20% off at the moment with the code TWENTY. I’ve never personally used the site but discovered it through a carers website so assume it’s legit.

Hairy they also do excellent discounts on accessories too and I often get nice stocking fillers like socks, gloves and card holders too. Often on TopCashback as well Grin

IlovePond · 28/10/2024 12:00

@CandyRaining - I know many/most are fine with it, but I genuinely thought it had been banned🙈

Someone on here earlier recommended Ciate and Guerlain bronzer as being talc free.

I have just ordered one Hourglass eyeshadow to try, (didn’t go for more as very expensive, plus I don’t know how my eyes will react- they can be sensitive). Sephora are doing 15% off atm.

I also snagged a small Hourglass blusher from eBay - I don’t usually buy makeup from eBay but it’s easy to tell if blusher/eyeshadow has been used, so I gave it a go.

On a related note:

Lots of people on eBay are offloading products they don’t want from this year’s advent calendars. Some ‘dealers’ have slso bought premium calendars and are trying to offload ALL the products. There are some bargains to be had.

If you can sit on your hands long enough you'll often get better than 20%. Of course chance you take is certain items or sized sell out quicker than others

Paul Smith is another that so best sales and discounts themselves. Also often on TopCashback. I've had gift card purchases from them track too.

I've a request if anyone can help ...

Looking for a good insulated mug for my work coffee which is -

Transportable even if it ends up lying down,

Easy to clean all nooks and crannies

Isn't super ££££

I love the chillys ones but they are a bit spendy. Also ideally one I can order online rather than go into a shop.

Do you want a thermos or a cup?
I have both as I have black coffee and I actually need it to cool down so I can drink it!!

I love the ion8 mugs. They lock closed so I can throw it in my backpack, and the silicone bit comes off the lid easily to clean so there aren't any crevices.

IlovePond · 28/10/2024 12:34

Sorry for the awful link🙈

MyStylish40s · 28/10/2024 12:36

Waffles21 · 28/10/2024 13:34

@IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile im
so sorry to hear about your poor daughter, kids can be so mean 🙁. I have a son so can’t offer any fashion advice but wanted to say it sounds like she has amazing parents. Really hope the school can help with the bullying.
ive also checked Sainsbury’s and sorry, no vampire mouse here either.

MaybeMrs · 28/10/2024 13:34

My Elemis has arrived. Doesn’t look like it’s been used, more a filling error? Anyway I was just on to Amazon chat and they’ve refunded me and since it’s a non returnable item I can keep it.

Has anyone seen any offers on Little People Big Dreams books? DS collects them and at £8-10 per book on average it gets expensive! He already has the large treasury book and the scientists and musicians collections.

Londonmummy66 · 28/10/2024 14:06

On the (looks like universally) out of stock vampire mouse - looking at the picture it seems to me the main feature is the cloak? In which case it shouldn't be too difficult to buy a mouse from elsewhere and make it one? Take about 10 minutes for someone with basic needlework skills.

My Elemis is out for delivery. No sign of a dispatch for the Nespresso machine though. I’ve had an email saying it’s processed but the zip. Anyone else had anything?

Same. Had an email saying g it was being prepared for dispatch shortly after I ordered and paid, but nothing since
