Sorry - I panicked with the title Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Girls advent calender
Accessorise girls advent calendar down to £17 with code 10FORYOU. I also got blue light to stack for £15ish.

@JessR26385 thanks for this. I think it will be good for my god daughter. It won't stack with my student code but £17ish is still a good price I think. Does anyone know of any bargain advents for a nearly 12 year old boy, just started secondary school? Not particularly sporty, into coding and sciencey stuff please?

My Elemis is out for delivery. No sign of a dispatch for the Nespresso machine though. I’ve had an email saying it’s processed but the zip. Anyone else had anything?

PinkPanther27 · 28/10/2024 10:40

Apologies if this has already been mentioned as I haven't caught up yet.

Reductions in some of the little people sets on Amazon (sorry nice links aren't working for me)

Friends - https://amzn.eu/d/cStfbUy

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - https://amzn.eu/d/1Kb2yw3

Harry Potter and the Philosopher´s Stone - https://amzn.eu/d/323VSq9

Harry Potter set(s) also available in Smyths at £14.99. Apparently that's their normal price there but better than the £20 Argos is asking for. Also price matched at John Lewis 🙂

Can I ask for Nintendo Switch help please? I'd like to buy the bundle with either Sports or a Mario Kart game. Will definitely need to get another couple of controllers too. Am I best using Very and the 10% new customer deal? That should bring the console and sports bundle to £230ish.

Also, if anyone else is struggling to keep up and keeps losing their place, just select the 'bookmark' option after the last post you read and it'll take you back there each time! It was super obvious when I first tried it, but I only started using it this year 🙈

I ummed and arghed about the switch last year for months, Asda had them cheaper than Very but with no games. In the end the Very deal worked out the best if any other sites were cheaper it was only buy a few quid. I got the other games I wanted on Vinted, loads on there

hby9628 · 28/10/2024 10:56

@Gustavo1 my Nespresso is on its way to DPD 👏

The philosophers stove set is on 3 for 2, some good deals especially if you can split the big Princess castle with two others that want them!

CandyRaining · 28/10/2024 11:01

@IlovePond sorry for the probably stupid question but why is it bad to have talc in make up? It’s something I’ve never thought about, will have to check mine.

CandyRaining · 28/10/2024 11:07

@IlovePond sorry I googled, should’ve done that before asking you. I have a lung condition so it’s a bit worrying and turns out both my powder and bronzer have it in 😢
If anyone can recommend a talc free powder and bronzer would be grateful. It took me years to find ones I really like (currently use Mac studio fix powder and Armani bronzer).

Just spotted this in Smyth's for schleich tots

My superdrug student discount is only valid instore as I don't have a student beans account just a totum card. Does anyone happen to have an account that can give me a code for student discount online with Superdug please? I'm happy to share my discount for other stores if anyone needs it 😊. Thankyou

Does anyone know if these candles from M&S are reusable? Can a tea light be added so the holder can still be used?

Link

Sorry if this has been answered but they are selling refills for these this year (at last!)

Addictedtobeauty · 28/10/2024 11:19

Student beans is free so if you’re a student (or have one in your household you can prompt) sign up!

BoysBagsShoes · 28/10/2024 11:20

@HeadOfGregor I’ve just been in The Range, no vampire mice but LOADS of similar Christmas mice in varying sizes, colours and dress. Super cute and possibly a fraction of the price elsewhere.

I only have a totum card not a student email address and it specifically says they won't accept a totum card as ID to sign up when I just tried!

I love these threads every year. So many things I didn’t know I needed seem to fall into my basket…

I’m on the mooch for some help please. I need to buy a Fred Perry polo (£75) and a Jaws Lego set (£130) Can’t bear to pay full price so if anyone has seen any amazing deals or offers, I would be eternally grateful. Flowers

I've found the best discounts for Fred Perry are always on their website so well worth waiting for a sale?

Could you possibly link me to the refill please?

MyStylish40s · 28/10/2024 11:44

There’s 20% of House of Fraser. Unfortunately the beauty box I wanted (The festive beauty box) is not included.

Oh that’s ideal. I might pop it in my basket and leave it for a while and see if anything happens as well as keeping an eye on the website. Thanks Flowers
