@Cupofteaandbiscuits and @NewtyCutey loved the happy reunited story with Otis.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

NEWCARD20 Gives a 20% discount on funky pigeon. Just used it myself and have done multiple orders previously so looks like it works for everyone, not just new customers :)

TheCrow · 21/10/2024 15:29

Home Bargains today, tubes with 6 bath bombs for £4.99 and boxes of hot chocolate crackers with 6 different flavours for £1.99, these would be good for splitting into stockings or hampers etc

Amazon have the Melissa & Doug dentist set discount to £22. Not as big a discount on their prime day but still a good buy.

Both of my local Tesco’s have lots of paperchase items in their bargain aisle. I picked up a couple of notebooks for £3.00, originally £15. I’ve bought 3 rolls of lovely wrapping paper (not Christmas but good for presents) for 90p each, plus match gift tags for 50p. They have a box of 64 marker pens for £12 and Jumbo scented marker pens for a quid. They also first day at school chalk boards for £1.50 and a few other electrical bits. I know it’s store dependent but hopefully someone will see them!

In waitrose all the John Lewis candles and reed diffusers had 25% off (assume this would also be in John Lewis). There were some really pretty candles with pressed flowers inside.

Isonthecase · 21/10/2024 16:46

micro scooters have various bits on offer today, including scooters.

Highlights: black helmet for £10 instead of £25 in size small, and bottle holders for a fiver.

You can also price match scooters so Smyths micro mini for £50 should work, and there's an offer for £10 off if you're buying anything full price code SHOW10 but you may need to sign up for the newsletter.

Anyone wanting the Good Housekeeping offer from @OatFlatWhiteForMePlease and has an American Express card, please check your card offers!

I have a ‘spend £30, get £10 credit’ for all Hearst publications (including GH) - may be different for you but still worth a try!

Plus buy via TBC or Quidco for maximum bargains!

I've just bought 6 magazine subscriptions paid £30 paid with Amex.

. It's been registered as £10 credit via Amex then another topcashback amount of £27.30 has tracked.
If this works I've got six subscriptions and they're paying me £7.30!
How mad is that 🤣

I have a £10 off £50 spend voucher for Boden if anyone wants it, needs to be used by 25th Oct, can't be used on sale items etc. I will PM the code to the first person that comments they want it. (I long for the days when they would send the voucher and there was no minimum spend!!!)

Hi, I would love this if it hasn't been taken yet? Thank you ☺️

I ordered 6 months each of Good Housekeeping and Country Living, and 3 months of Harpers Bizarre. £15 in total.

TopCashBack has tracked the £15 spend for £18.90 cashback

Thanks to the PP for the cusinart sale link. I've just bought ds a personal blender thingy for £20 instead of £100 - including free delivery. I've had a look on Amazon and they cost £45 on there so not convinced by the full price but it has a 4.5 stars rating so at that price it seems worth a go as I don't know if he will use it much (just at uni). And it's usb powered and supposed to do 8 smoothies on a charge so will hopefully be good for something!

I wasn't sure how genuine the offer was but the PayPal receipt has come through from Conair.com - who it seems are the genuine parent company of cusinart so seems a reasonable punt!
