Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@LionMummyRoar - in the unlikely event you live near a shop you can do click and collect for Anthropologie.

I think the discount mentioned earlier was on sale goods.

There’s a birthday discount available if it’s your birthday, but I don’t think it stacks.

@Delahot for the festive cotton single bedding, try looking for brushed cotton - it’s pure cotton but much more snuggly, so is good for colder nights. For some reason I often find it in red / green designs which could be interpreted as festive!

Supermarkets are usually pretty good for single bedding - try Asda, Habitat at Sainsbury’s and also don’t forget TK Maxx.

Sadly the best prices are either in January for the legit Xmas designs, or in March when they are clearing out for spring and summer designs. Def something to put on the Sales Shopping list!

@Delahot i was in Sainsburys yesterday and they have some single duvet covers in the sale , there was one with stars on which might be suitable.

This is a long shot and possibly will need a Christmas miracle! TW miscarriage

Years ago when DH and I were TTC and having lots of losses sadly, we saw a cute reindeer soft toy in Tesco. It was like a knitted type material and was a brown colour with a white tummy and a rainbow scarf and sat up rather than being on four legs. We bought it and said we would keep it until we had a baby. I got the reindeer out when I was pregnant with DD who is now 9 and had it when she was a newborn. We then had to move house quickly as landlord gave us notice and the reindeer got lost somehow in the move. I’d really like to get another one. It sounds ridiculous I know but I remember getting it and that was such a horrible time with losses etc and then the joy of getting pregnant with DD. I have no pictures of it so can’t google lens it. Anyone seen one or know the one I am talking about? I just need a picture so I can Google lens it.

Posted this on previous thread. Wondered why not one reply!
Has anyone ordered from TheVault co.com? Looking to buy ultra mini black Ugg's for my daughter and they're priced at £119 instead of £145 at all other places. Just wondered if they're legit.

I've just looked here as my dd wants Ugg Tazz and strangely they're cheaper on the official ugg site. Welcome10 gives £10 off though if you do decide to buy from the vault.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but the Star Gifts in Boots at the minute are looking good.. Mario Badescu set is a hit with teens for skincare and the Estée Lauder 8 hour set is down from £75 to £27. Don’t forget Top Cashback too.

Thanks for this, I needed teen presents so the skin care sets are great. There is enhanced 10.2% on topcashback for star gifts atm as well

Sainsbruys have some good stocking filler type gifts at the moment too, might vary by store but they had all sorts of fun stationary, funky water bottles etc for really cheap!

IlovePond · 12/10/2024 09:52

@NewtyCutey - I am seriously impressed by the speed with which you found that - am hoping it’s the one being looked for!

Trying to find a single duvet cover for my 14 year old DD for Christmas (at her request!) I wanted to get one with a decent thread count but can only find ones that are plain white and wanted something a bit more fancy. Any good ideas where to look?

Dunelm have some lovely ones and pretty reasonable too.

sangriaandsunshine · 12/10/2024 09:56

@Delahot are you looking for Christmas bedding or normal bedding? If normal, TK Maxx might be your best bet. It may require several trips but they sell good quality bedding.
My teen DC's current duvet covers are from Asda, Sainsburys and Dunelm. They've all washed and worn well but none of them are high thread count.

I bought this for my 20 year old (!!!!)’s birthday last month and she loved it: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B09GJXK4RQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

She was the one who originally named the unicorn Robert!

Thanks @RJnomore1 . They look great! 2 purchased. I love that they come with the booklet explaining what each thing is.

fishfingersandchipsagain · 12/10/2024 10:10

I thought I’d add my annual reminder about Amazon subscribe and save 😀

I got the Japanese sweets for £8.47 each with the Subscribe and Save 15% discount.

Every year I plan my November subscribe and save delivery to be the Christmas one.

So I add the regular Christmas things e.g. boxes of Lindt chocolates etc in that delivery, and put them on “6 month recurring” with a reminder in the diary to cancel.

Once you have more than 5 items in a single delivery the discount goes up to 15% on most items (5% on some).

The trick is that you don’t ever have to buy the item more than once. Set it up as a 6 month recurring delivery and then you can cancel anytime after the big delivery arrives.

They also often have an additional discount if it’s the first time you are subscribing to that particular item.

I’ve saved a fortune on it. Sometimes you can end up with a triple discount. e.g. last year I got Neom that was 20% off on a regular offer, then had a 20% bonus discount for first subscribe and save, then another 15% off due to size of order, so they were roughly half price.

Urgh I'm so sorry for asking but- I have looked on anthropologie website and the Christmas mugs are gorgeous and now must have some for hot chocolate station presents. I can see a 10% off code and a bluelight 10% that can't stack, and money off for a large purchase, but delivery etc is expensive. I remember someone talking about it earlier but can't find the thread! Does anyone know any other discounts?

Hi I got non Christmas but monogrammed mugs in the sale but signed up a few weeks ago with a date of birth deliberately times for this sale.

I had various Happy Birthday discounts sent but non stacked with sale and specifically non with free delivery. Then on the last sale day when it was an extra 20-% off sale sure wide I had a code for free delivery which did stack so mugs were under a fiver and delivery sorted.

Not helpful on this occasion but could be when we head towards the next sales?

Cupofteaandbiscuits · 12/10/2024 10:28

@Reastie The one where @NewtyCutey saves Christmas!

DC are convinced that this is the original one and he’s been on an adventure and is now coming home 🥹
