Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@Mumto3thatsme and @winewolfhowls is it just the comic print tamagotchi you found at £10? It’s noty
favourite design but I can definitely cope with it for the lower price 😉

DH and I just got very emotional and DC are confused as to what the fuss is about!! He has been purchased and given his original name of Otis! I can’t thank you enough @NewtyCutey

I'm so glad it was the right one and that you got it right away! You never know...it could be the real Otis.

@Reastie possible new thread: The One Where Otis Finds His Way Home

IggyAce · 12/10/2024 10:47

@Delahot have a look at IKEA they have a good selection of 100% cotton.

PumpkinSpicedTea · 12/10/2024 10:58

Absolutely love this thread, @NewtyCutey well done and @Cupofteaandbiscuits I am so happy for you!

I teared up when I clicked on the link and saw it was sold today, hoping it was bought by you!

Mumto3thatsme · 12/10/2024 11:05

There’s a Star Wars version for £11.48 @PumpkinSpicedTea with another seller, but yes the comic version is the only one for £10 at the moment

Is that an actual Tamagotchi, or just the shell? When I looked earlier, it looked like shells for Tamagotchis were around £10, but the Tamagotchis themselves were £20ish. Unless I really misunderstood?

I’m sure it’s the actual tamagotchi. I can see the same one on Smyths website for £10 too.
Argos also have a selection priced at £13 ish

Edited

The reviews suggest it’s the toy not just the shell…. Definitely sowing seeds of doubt though 🙈

Has anyone got one of these? Seems very cheap for silk! Sorry I don’t know how to do a short link 🙄

TheGriffle · 12/10/2024 12:08

@User125179313 they don’t have very good reviews on Trust Pilot. I’d stay clear.

Fucktheapp · 12/10/2024 12:16

Hello!

Looking for skincare recommendations for my kids. Ages between 11 and 18. None have breakouts or particularly troublesome skin. Oldest does get psoriasis but that’s on her torso and never her face.

Realise that some skincare isn’t suitable for their ages but I’d like to get them something they’d be excited about. Looking for items suitable for 11 &13 year olds and an 18 year old. Thank you

TherebytheGraceofGodgoI · 12/10/2024 12:21

Laithwaites are doing half price Champagne at the moment. 20% off for new customers. Think this was the one that was popular last year.

IggyAce · 12/10/2024 12:22

@Fucktheapp look at Inkey list for the 18 year old.
Nip + fab do a good teen range.
For the 11 year old I’d look for basic face wash and moisturiser CeraVe is gentle.
If you type in teen skincare with Boots they bring up Bubble gift sets which look fun, no experience with this brand.
