Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Can I be cheeky and ask anyone who ordered the children’s earrings lucky dip from solace to post a pic please? Or describe what they’re like?
I ordered some adult ones for my sister but they’re quite big/chunky and she wears more delicate earrings. I’m wondering whether to go for a kids one instead if they’re smaller styles (or are they childish designs?). Thanks!

Hints if possible for nice soaps. Especially love fruity or floral scents that lather really nicely and creamy.
Also any tips for dog fleeces? Want to pay less than Equafleece if I’m honest.
Thanks!

This company has lovely soaps

Gloves are only £14 here you get the exact pair advertised and the quality is as good if not better than Turtle Doves (they're even prewashed so can go in the machine) - thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the initial recommendation. I've since bought 5 pairs and can say that they are excellent - as is the service.

I've just bought one of her new range of cashmere headbands (£12) and can say that they are also lovely and soft, comfortable and cosy. The problem is I keep spotting new colours!!

I’ve previously bought a really nice fleece for our dog from Jolleyes and they’re a good price

Thank you to everyone who replied to my crocodile post. 🐊
The post that mentioned the owl pellets from a previous year, sounds interesting,
Does anyone remember the site and cost ?

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 17/10/2024 14:04

@Timelass you might struggle to get owl pellets now as rules have changed for supplying them

Timelass · 17/10/2024 14:10

Thanks @Justhereforthechristmasthreads .
That's a shame would have been an ideal extra for my grandson.

You can pick them up from eBay (people just selling ones they find) - we did this and sterilised in the oven at home, but the smell was unspeakable and I think I’m going to remember it to my dying day. So I don’t really recommend…

Thank you so much! I think I’ll take a punt as they look more to her taste than the adults bundle.

Timelass · 17/10/2024 14:27

@Famousthehero 🤢 grateful for the heads up!

RL shopping today and saw some Bonnyhill Korean skin care products in TK Maxx. Has anyone used these and would recommend them? They looked like they'd be good for my older teens but I've never heard of them before (tbh it not difficult, I know nothing of skincare!) Many thanks

Does anyone have any suggestions for the best cheapest place to buy large Yankee candles? Dbro has an requested some for a pre Christmas birthday. He lives with an elderly, flatulent dog so the stronger the scents the better!

Vimaybe · 17/10/2024 14:51

Medium squashmallows reduced from £18 to £9 in Tesco. Cute but a reduced selection of animals if you're after a specific one.

Nestnearlyempty · 17/10/2024 14:53

Thanks for Amazon Lindt ball link. I also used 5% off buying 4 to bring them down further to £11.40 each.
