Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Relatives @1mabon - where I’m from, anyway!

Unless it’s a typo 😹

Cos1970 · 15/10/2024 13:52

@Zayflower we bought some retro kits form Soccer03 for our son (think they were a size 24) and they’re too small for him. Size 24 in their normal kits fit him fine

Cos1970 · 15/10/2024 13:53

Amazonmulu · 15/10/2024 11:40

@LovesAutumnLeaves how long did the soccer03 order take to get to you?

I ordered 23/09 but no sign of them yet 🙈

A friend or ours ordered from there a while ago and it took nearly 8 to 9 weeks to come. The last order we did come within 4 weeks I think

Has anyone seen anything about the Smyths half price toy sale? I finally caved after missing loads of good deals and ordered a kitchen for my DD literally the other day so still in 14 day cooling off period and have now seen on various social media groups there is potentially going to be a 50% off sale (predicted to start today but can’t see anything online), just contemplating if it is worth returning the one I have and then repurchasing when/if 50% sale happens? Thankssss

MamaK19 · 15/10/2024 15:12

I also have had some hotel Chocolat discount codes through if any use - assume they are generic but could be one off 🍫💝

The Gul dry robe deal is amazing! I’ve been trawling for one for myself and bought a Regatta one for £63 this afternoon. I’ve just attempted to cancel it as got the Gul one for £32! Thanks so much 😃
I can also report the Amazon Lindt deal is better than Lindt shop in an outlet mall as I checked today.

PurpleSkittle · 15/10/2024 15:34

On the Lindt chocs, Tesco has the 200g boxes (16 chocs) on Clubcard price for £4.50. So 600g would be £13.50. The Amazon 600g box is cheaper (£11.99) but a just one type. Tesco (and I'm sure other places too) have loads of flavour options, so worth considering if you're buying for people who might prefer a choice of flavours as it's only £1.50 more for the same quantity.

Tesco also have these mixed boxes on Clubcard price of £12, which look like a good gifting selection (but slightly less, 525g)...

Can you tell I'm slightly obsessed with these chocolates 😜

Duckyneedsaclean · 15/10/2024 16:17

Tesco has a half price toy sale in store. Some good deals including this pottery wheel for £16.50

Does anyone have a working phone number or email address for Studio that actually enables me to speak to a human being? Everything I've tried is either just their financial services team (which also seems to be a robot) or goes round in circles.

I've had a delivery with 2 items damaged en route, and I can't find a way to contact them to sort it! Their website tells me to get in touch within 28 days but fails to say how...

Rainraingoaway21 · 15/10/2024 16:26

@Flustration I can't get that code to work. What a bargain though!

minsmum · 15/10/2024 16:29

When I click on the lindt link it says error

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 15/10/2024 16:37

@minsmum press the lower end of the link/last few words of it, I don't know why it adds all the other useless stuff when I copy the link.
Edit: the https bit is the link

If you happen to live near a mcarthur Glenn outlet, the Lindt stores there have incredible deals on. Well worth a trip!

You guys are my go to for board game recommendations if anyone can help, is Outsmarted a good family quiz game, and is it worth paying extra for the Mega bundle does anyone know? Players would be from 7-70 so trying to find something we’d all enjoy.

I love Outsmarted. I haven't played with any children but I believe the questions are targetted on age. I like that the news questions are very current.
I don't know what the Mega bundle includes (I bought the game a while ago) but you can buy additional question categories for a few pounds and they often have offers.
We've even managed to play it when we couldn't be in the same location.

OnionBag · 15/10/2024 17:13

Does anyone now what age the sizes are for in the Gul dry robes? Thanks

imnottoofussed · 15/10/2024 17:35

We love outsmarted and you can now play it without the board. I'm not 100% convinced that the kids questions are actually easy enough though as we didn't know the answer to quite a lot of them as adults.

You can play in teams though so that helps if you pair up with a younger one

Ilovepugs2017 · 15/10/2024 17:41

Smartwatch for £9.99 on Amazon when discount codes added if anyone is interested? Just ordering one for DD

CandyRaining · 15/10/2024 17:46

I had an email for schuh to say that if you take an old pair of shoes in (don’t have to have been bought in schuh) they’ll exchange it for £5 off a new pair.
Also, noticed in wh smith that they had a £5 off every £40 spent on toys in store. Noticed Lego and squishmals (sp) which I know are popular.
Thank you everyone who gave me advice about the teacher gifts :)

Audubon · 15/10/2024 18:03

Out real life shopping today and got this lovely advent calendar from Flying Tiger for £12, it's 24 little craft projects to make an ornament for each day of advent.

lego shop have started their double points on purchases today, so if you are going to buy direct it’s worth it as you can save up points to use for discounts and special edition lego sets.

Confusedmeanderings · 15/10/2024 18:15

Just come across The Somerset Toiletry Company. They have a good sales section on their website with some things having 50% off and they're not overly expensive to start with. Really pretty packaging too. I think they'd be great for stocking fillers for adults or a small gift. They do the usual discount for signing up to their newsletter too.

Could someone remind me of the best small thermal printer for teens for homework, revising etc. I can’t find the chat now after looking back through the threads. Many thanks

We got ours from the TikTok shop. £7 with lots of rolls of paper and sticker paper included. It’s basic and probably wouldn’t recommend if you want high definition photos but has been perfect for printing notes and diagrams from mobile phones for revision
