Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@Solmum1964 & @imnottoofussed thank you for letting me know it was a good game, that, along with the fact they sent me a 20% off code for leaving it in my basket while I decided means I’ve just bought the mega bundle for only a couple of pounds more than the normal version. Very pleased! Can’t wait to play it Christmas Day.

In Sainsbury's, alcohol gift sets are part of the 3-4-2 offer now with Nectar.

They also have some guinea pig Christmas pjs if you can't find your size at Asda (I took a photo of the tag too for the item no)

Not very Christmassy, but there were some great bargains with paper mate pens, eg a pack of 8 assorted ball pens for 30p, useful for writing cards and labels perhaps?

It's well worth getting it all set up before you want to play it for the first time.
Although I believe they've resolved the issue of not having enough capacity on the servers it was running on that they had a few years ago, it's always good to check out anything tech related!

Thank you for the heads up about the Gul sale - dd had a wetsuit on her list.

TheGriffle · 15/10/2024 16:49

You guys are my go to for board game recommendations if anyone can help, is Outsmarted a good family quiz game, and is it worth paying extra for the Mega bundle does anyone know? Players would be from 7-70 so trying to find something we’d all enjoy.

Have you tried one night werewolf, it's sort of like the traitors. Very short five minute rounds.

Blokus is another we love

Ooh quite tempted by the Soft body Woody then for £26, have been mildly obsessed with it for a while

Rainraingoaway21 · 15/10/2024 16:26

@Flustration I can't get that code to work. What a bargain though!

Oh no, sorry! I have reported it to EE via the app and will let you know if they give me another one.

Arthien · 15/10/2024 16:21

Does anyone have a working phone number or email address for Studio that actually enables me to speak to a human being? Everything I've tried is either just their financial services team (which also seems to be a robot) or goes round in circles.

I've had a delivery with 2 items damaged en route, and I can't find a way to contact them to sort it! Their website tells me to get in touch within 28 days but fails to say how...

I could only contact them via Facebook messenger before, but still they sent scripted copied and pasted responses that mostly didn't respond to the content of my message. No phone number to be found

rhubarbhandsoap · 15/10/2024 22:02

Water bottles in nice colours for £5-£6 here on lightning deal - might be a good stocking filler

Qwerty21 · 15/10/2024 22:02

I'm looking at soccer04 but the sizes confuse me. Has anyone ordered from them that can advise me what size to order for a male who usually wears a medium please, do their sizes match up as you'd expect so I should go with a medium on there? Thanks

weareallqueens · 15/10/2024 22:19

I think it says to size up on the website. I ordered an XL for DH who is generally a large and it looks ok when I compare it to other (genuine) ones he has. He'll not be trying it on till Christmas though.

BreezyHedgehog · 15/10/2024 22:22

Currys are running an offer on Mario pre-orders currently.
Mario & Luigi Brothership 25% off with the code BROTHER25.

IlovePond · 15/10/2024 22:30

Oh dear, now I want some Xmas Guinea Pig pjs🙀

mousegiggles1 · 15/10/2024 22:32

Does anyone want a 25% off code for a Merlin Annual Pass? If so pm me. I "won it" via Mcdonalds peel thing, and I won't use it.

ShangPie · 15/10/2024 22:50

Not festive but I saw on MoneySavingExpert that John Lewis are giving out some pretty decent gift cards with around 200 different home appliances.

There have been a few posters looking for Argos codes for big non-festive buys, so this might be a good alternative if you need a new TV or whatever.
