Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@nearlylovemyusername yes it does! I've had sunflower, rapeseed and olive in mine.

TheGriffle · 14/10/2024 20:01

@CandyRaining my sister is a secondary school teacher and she’d love a costa voucher or similar, so would her colleagues. I got them as end of year 6 presents last term for my DD’s teachers and have had both teachers stop me when doing my youngest school run to say thank you and how nice it was to take themselves out for a treat in the holidays.

Code MF7283AV gives buy one get one free at Qwertee it apparently applies to multiple purchases so buy 2 get 2 free. Not sure if it’s one time use, but I don’t need it so happy to share.

Thank you @IggyAce. I've been waiting for another deal from Qwertee. My teens love the humour on these tees. Just got 4 delivered for £35 ❤

woodwaj · 14/10/2024 20:27

Seems a bit late in the day but I've just had this email offer from bargain max

Can anyone recommend a pair of women’s small fingerless gloves for working outside please, so preferably not woollen maybe…

Chocolateteabag · 14/10/2024 20:57

@Felith - Schoeffel are really strict with their suppliers and don't let them apply any site discounts to their products. If you see any Schoeffel gilets on sale, they are usually because they've stopped being a supplier and are just selling the last of their bought stock

If your DH is set on one I'd suggest looking on Vinted - be prepared to pay c £100 -110 for a decent secondhand one

I do feel your pain, DS "needs" one - and I cannot bring myself to pay £160 for one when the Rydale/similar ones are just the same

ThatshallotBaby · 14/10/2024 21:08

Just to say Aldi have some nice candles in 3.99, reduced to 2.99. I got one as a little treat and it’s much stronger than I thought it would be.

Just noticed Sainsbury’s have a nectar offer of buy 3 get 1 free on certain gift sets - toiletries/alcohol gifts. A lot of the toiletry ones are the same as ones in the Boots 3 for 2 but might work out better if you only want 1 or 2 of those as can mix and match with the booze ones.

Do you mean this

Thank you, but no that's not it. It's not a typical heart shape when closed

Loulouli · 14/10/2024 22:12

Does anyone know why qwertee asks for nearly £8 shipping fee? I have definitely entered UK as shipping country...

I just want Asda to have the matching Christmas Guinea pig pjs in stock, in all the sizes I need, at the same time. They have rudely refused to make the Christmas guinea pig duvet cover in a super king, the least they could do is sort the pjs!

I was obsessive in checking if they had the sizes I needed in stock, I was ridiculously excited when I managed to get them! They're so cute!

Looking for any discounts I can find for RM Williams if anyone knows of any!

Just the boots or their whole range? Boots-wise you really do need to try them to make sure they fit properly but I found a ladies pair for £299 at Humes which I wish I'd found before I spent nearly that on having mine repaired after years of hard use.

Thanks for all the schoffel tips! I don't think he's wedded to that brand so I'll have a little mosey around the other options too, just tricky getting something that will fit in with the actual country types!

Thank you to everyone who gave me suggestions for some incredible sounding Asian snacks! Spent the past few days looking into them, now to spend the next few days tracking them down 😁

Oodie has original adult sized Oodies for £39. They are also offering me 15% off my first order (making it £33.15) or 10% off otherwise.

Thanks for this...been on the lookout for an Oodie. Did it give you a first time user 15% off code? Just keeps taking me to the app but doesn't give me a code for the discount?

Yalz · 15/10/2024 02:59

@itsreal , I didn’t make an order, but “in the interests of science/MN bargains” I’ve just tried and it didn’t give me a code.

I then used the chatbot. It apologised for the inconvenience and gave me a code, which I’ll send you in a PM. If I haven’t worked out how to do that in the next few minutes, send me a message and I’ll reply to you with the code in the morning. Bedtime for me now. 😴

It looks like a general code, so if anyone else wants it, let me know by PM. I don’t want to post it on here in case it’s not. It would be even simpler to ask the chatbot for it.

Actually, I think it may have been a real person even though it’s almost 3am as “inconvenience” was not written with exactly that spelling.

RatatatCat · 15/10/2024 05:10

Britney Spears Fantasy Perfume £10 on Boots £10 Tuesday - good for a tween/teen

There's a few other gift items on there today too definitely getting better near to Christmas!

PostPopper · 15/10/2024 05:54

Just to say about Oodie, I left two dressing gowns in my basket and they sent me a text (not email) with a 20% discount code.

It looks generic but as above, I won’t post it publicly but if you don’t get it yourself, please pm.

So check you are registered and signed in and have put in your mobile number and then leave the items in your basket!

The large Lindt balls with approx 40 balls are showing up as £11:40 on Amazon which seems a good deal for them

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/10/2024 08:05

Does anybody know if Rex London ever do free postage?

I've seen that you can subscribe and get free delivery over £25 but I only want one ten pound item and really don't want to add on lots of things I don't really want to get to £25 but I hate paying loads for postage
