Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@Orangeoranges42 if you have a Halifax Reward bank account they currently have 10% cashback on Neals Yard products 😊

@RainbowZebraWarrior I do usually post in the referral thread and state what I gain however these were just free boxes to gift with no gain for me that’s why I thought it would be ok to post in here.

My apologies. I didn't know this.

Bumblebeesince19 · 13/10/2024 18:28

This isn't a bargain, but the opposite I guess..
I spotted this in asda, so it may be worth you checking your local ones if you have some old children's books to remove to children who need them :)
We normally donate our books to the kids school but I think this is lovely (as well as highly convenient for many people!)

Code MF7283AV gives buy one get one free at Qwertee it apparently applies to multiple purchases so buy 2 get 2 free. Not sure if it’s one time use, but I don’t need it so happy to share.

Wise0wl · 13/10/2024 19:02

Disney Store UK has 20% off when you spend £60 or more with the code TREAT

NotAdultingToday · 13/10/2024 19:11

Sorry if its already been posted but if people are still looking i saw the small boxes of Guylian in Sainsburies in their christmas section for £1.75

Any science kit bargains suitable for a 6 year old been spotted? Like grow your own crystals or bicarbonate soda and vinegar reactions? 🎄

We had this science kit amzn.eu/d/eAikTa0 last year and my 7yo loved it. At £9.75 I don't think that's a bad price.

Ewock · 13/10/2024 19:36

OnionBag · 13/10/2024 17:09

@Ewock do we need a code for the 20% discount? Thanks

Sorry just seen this. There was a code at the top of their page when you go on H&B website. Think it was FLASH. It's only on for today

inmyheadimthequeen · 12/10/2024 23:10

inmyheadimthequeen
Is the Fussy code still available please @BananaWoman999
I have shared one, I'll PM you one and then I'll have one left if anyone else wants it 🙂

Thanks BananaWoman999 - buuuuut...with apologies for a derail, I can't for the life of me work out how to see your response, I've got a message to say it exists but when I click on it, I get an error message. I can't see how to access the inbox otherwise. It's almost certainly me rather than the site, so if someone could quickly tell me how to open the message, I'd appreciate it!

Have you managed to sort this? I can post the code here but worried it'll get poached 😬

IlovePond · 13/10/2024 19:51

@PinkPanther27 - thanks so much for asking. DS wasn’t getting anywhere with Amazon yesterday, then a couple of hours ago, out of the blue, Amazon guy number 3 rocks up. DH gave the code, but kept the guy on the doorstep whilst he checked the earbuds were present. They were - phew!

IlovePond · 13/10/2024 19:53

I was in Lidl today. Paw Patrol scooters were reduced to £13.99.

Lots of Xmas biscuits and chocolates. I got a couple of bits. I had 15% off a giant tub of Swizzels on my Lidl app, so grabbed those as a Xmas present for younger DS, (who has gone off chocolate in his old age, but likes sweeties!)

IlovePond · 13/10/2024 19:55

Sephora have 15% off with code: TREAT15. It is a code approved by TCB, so should track.

They are giving their Beauty Box away with purchases over £130 and there are other GWPs available, all of which seem to stack.

Slater22 · 13/10/2024 20:03

Thanks for all the bargains so far…
A recommendation if you work for a charity sign up for free on charityworkerdiscounts.com for lots of discount codes
Also has anybody seen any good advent calendars for men?? Can’t find anything good
Thanks

IlovePond · 13/10/2024 20:12

@Slater22 - Clarins have a men’s advent as do LF.

Thank you all so much who offered ideas. The large pepper mill is perfect.. he loves pepper and cinnamon .. he’s American and loves tasty food 😅 off to find good deals on giant pepper mills. I saw Dunelm had them at £12 but gonna pop into store.

i did find this on Amazon (not a huge discount but a discount all the same!) .. my toddler will LOVE this as he’s crazy for animals. 6% off atm and a lovely gift for Christmas and/or birthdays too 🥰

i managed to buy a bulk of big animal toys off Vinted for a really good price that I’m going to pop in his stocking individually too if anyone was looking for animal toys but finding them expensive (especially schleich ones although some good deals on Amazon on those too right now!)

I’m getting DH a coffee one, either Nespresso or Pact. He’s more practical and wouldn’t appreciate a skincare one although he did enjoy last years unexpected sock advent 😂

Elphaba17 · 13/10/2024 20:44

If anyone got Boots vouchers through the post last week there was one for 4 for 2 on green stickered Xmas items instead of the usual 3 for 2. In store only and expires tomorrow. I managed to get DD some Byoma and the inkey list sets today so pretty pleased with that.

Don't buy a kit for that, big waste of money. Stock a box full of kitchen science type things and get a good book instead. Or loads of things online. I'll look and link in a bit

Hyacinthandrichard · 13/10/2024 21:03

If anyone has a pound stretcher near them they had lots of stocking filler type things for mad prices and some cute little latte glasses - maybe nice for a hamper?

@Elphaba17 - I saved half of last year’s sock advent extravaganza for this Xmas - looking forward to discovering days 7-12!

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 13/10/2024 21:07

For anyone who is close to a Morrisons store, tomorrow they are launching their first wooden toy event (they are WIGIG offers so once they sell that is it)

Not sure on exact prices but I think

Mini Market Street - £25
Bakery / Fruit / Vegetable Crate - £5
Mini Market Street Deli / Fish / Pizza / Butcher Set - £10
Wooden Vehicles like our Delivery Van and Tractor - £4 each
Weighing Scales - £10
Tabletop Checkout Till - £25
Shopping Trolley - £15
Farm Set with Tractor - £25
Dollshouse - £30
Dollshouse Furniture and Family Set - £15

Possibly a generic code from Celtic & co - OVP24 gives 15% off and free delivery until 3 November.

i got this too so it’s generic, but I think Black Friday deals maybe better - was annoyed last year as I bought some very nice furry slippers early, but could have had cheaper later. However, they are lovely and going strong.
