Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Some good branded stationary reductions in our Sainsburys including these Sharpies down from £9 to £3.75. Not sure if they're in every branch but worth a look!

Holland and Barrett have an extra 20% of orders on line today. It stacked with 3 for 2 offers and the half price offer (on some items).
I also had a £2 voucher on my H&B card which I didn't realise. So a good bargain. O was looking on there at the Balmonds skin salve that a pp said about, the large pot is half price at the mo so cheaper than the medium size.

Rescue2024 · 13/10/2024 15:24

Please remind me where we were buying lovely socks from a few years back? I’ve gone through my emails and nothing is standing out.

djfjfj · 13/10/2024 15:26

Does anyone have a contact email address for IWOOT please? One where they will respond (as I’ve found a feedback one but it says they won’t respond).

I placed an order on 29/09 and still no sign of it. No live chat available, I can’t send a message on their site as I don’t have an account and their Twitter page doesn’t appear to be active; the link takes me to my feed. I’m getting an auto email every Saturday saying they’re aware they haven’t sent out the order, but that’s not much help!

I was hoping to have a couple of items for birthday gifts for a birthday coming up in the next couple of weeks.

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 13/10/2024 15:30

@Rescue2024 possibly White Stuff?

okayhescereal · 13/10/2024 15:30

On the topic of socks, my...how do you write neice in law?! NeIL? Anyway...she's a very horsey soul and always on the look out for snuggly warm socks that aren't too thick. Any recommendations?

They have a live chat, it's not open at the moment but maybe try tomorrow in office hours. If you get caught in an AI loop, type 'human' and it'll sometimes offer to put you through.

Thank you so much @Usernamepleasework That worked for me with a new email address.

It took about 12 hours for the email to come through, but I got £10 off £60 at Argos.

Amazing glad it worked for you 😊

IamChipmunk · 13/10/2024 15:51

@lingmerth I've checked and I didn't pay postage. My order was £121.

WimbyAce · 13/10/2024 16:19

@ocean59 Have finally taken a pic of the Lakeland codes if you still want them?

Was it the bam bamboo socks? They're still my absolute fave pairs, every so often I get a free pair from them in the post randomly.

Reminds me I need to buy new trainer socks, they are the most comfortable padded socks I've ever had. They're like a hug for your feet. My last ones were from the threads 6 years ago so they've had a good running.

Anyone looking for stocking fillers, there are some nice leather purses and card carriers in the sale section at Yoshi - really nice quality, I would recommend: Yoshi Winter Sale. E.g.

Slim brown leather card holder - £3.75
England Legends 7 leather wallet - £8
The Toy Shop brown leather Oxford purse - £16.50

Edited

I still have a 15% off code for Yoshi if anyone wants it

torthecatlady · 13/10/2024 17:00

Thank you to the person who posted the Argos link for £10 off Smile

@Ewock ignore the above, I’ve found it 🤦‍♀️

RainbowZebraWarrior · 13/10/2024 15:00

You really need to be upfront about any gain you make personally from these codes for free boxes. (Isn't it usually they get a free box and you get £20 off your next box?)

Here's the referrals thread where everyone posts theirs and states what they stand to gain in return.

www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6

@RainbowZebraWarrior I do usually post in the referral thread and state what I gain however these were just free boxes to gift with no gain for me that’s why I thought it would be ok to post in here.

Carrie76 · 13/10/2024 17:48

For the ROI bargain hunters there are some good deals on toys in Tesco.

Any science kit bargains suitable for a 6 year old been spotted? Like grow your own crystals or bicarbonate soda and vinegar reactions? 🎄

Someaddedsugar · 13/10/2024 18:11

@RainbowZebraWarrior I don't think you get anything for the free Hello Fresh ones so not a referral - I've given a few codes and never had anything in return for the free ones. The 60% off ones I think you get credit for though 😊
