Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Hi, does anyone have a code for back market please? And are they any good?
thank you.

I have used back market a couple of times now to buy reconditioned iPhones. Both times service was quick and the items were in immaculate condition. I will use them again. I have popped a code on the referral thread for £10 off your first order.

MamaK19 · 13/10/2024 08:05

Couple of discounts popped in to my inbox this morning! 10% at matalan with code TAKE10 and 30% off at my first years with an extra 5% using BIRTHDAY5 assuming both generic codes, I actually got a lovely stocking for my DD when she was first born from my first years still holding up 4 years later 💛 hopefully useful to someone!!

redjoker · 13/10/2024 08:08

Let's not police who can ask and say what here it sucks the joy out of it!

I love the requests for help it gets me looking and thinking about bargains for others.

Possibly a generic code from Celtic & co - OVP24 gives 15% off and free delivery until 3 November.

Icannotremembermyusername · 13/10/2024 08:13

OMG my DH loves this!! Bought last year and he has used it such a lot! Or this https://amzn.eu/d/324wPDk ?? Went down well

Icannotremembermyusername · 13/10/2024 08:20

Thanks for that!! My slippers are positively holey 😅

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 13/10/2024 08:24

Thanks for the White Company code! I used it then did a fake other order and it accepted the code again, so can confirm it's a general code! Been wanting to try the sandalwood spray for a while now 😍

Hey everyone 👋
finally finished shopping for DS and DSS&gf.

now onto men. What are you all getting the men this year? Who want nothing when asked… and need nothing.. but can’t be left out! My imagination is running slim. 🫠🫠

I’m the same, so up to now I have got him

dressing gown
Clarins facewash
trainers
new aftershave
and am going to get an Elemis shaving foam as I’ve read good things about it

Anyone come across cheap, cheerful, and extremely random gadgets? Me and dp do a 'joke' gift each year, he's had a can opener, hair drain unclogger, etc, in previous years. The gist is will be used, but weird out of context. I'm stumped this year...

Edit to add he has also had a nose hair trimmer (which was requested several times, I'm not mean) ;)

Edited

What about a toothpaste squeezer?
I love mine and have one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen lol.

It's an annual debate! Most people seem to say they like the chat though. Xmas Grin

Vimaybe · 13/10/2024 08:44

@Delahot Next have some absolutely gorgeous girls bedding. I'm not sure about the thread counts but I was looking yesterday wishing I could somehow encourage my little boy to want a pretty pink bedroom...

I agree with @redjoker 👍🏻

For me this is a safe space with like minded people to enjoy Christmas chat and bargains.

It's lovely community and thank you all for years of humour and fun xx

Didyeaye · 13/10/2024 08:53

@juicyjellybaby thanks for the punirunes shout. I had my eye on them but thought £40 was a bit steep!

Blessedbethefruitz · 13/10/2024 08:55

Thanks for the ideas! I like that crab spoon rest...

@Bumblebeesince19 @TheRedheadMummy
There are lots of other threads on the Christmas talk pages re suggestions for eg men, teen girls, stocking fillers, advent calendars etc.
These bargain threads fill up so quickly anyway could we please just stick to bargains spotted and associated chat, rather than general requests for help? (Reindeers with scarves excepted 🙂)

Very kind of you to advise me elsewhere. However, since my post I have had some wonderful PMs and managed to grab the specific item I was on the lookout for for a great price from Ebay, so I am extemely greatful to the responses I received from the amazing bargain hunters on this thread.
Going RL shopping next weekend so am hoping ai can return the favour! :)

Ilovepugs2017 · 13/10/2024 08:58

Can anyone suggest where & when would be the best time to buy stronger with you aftershave for teen DS? His list doesn’t consist of many items this year but they are expensive items like a Ralph Lauren quarter zip jumper and joggers 😬

mybrainisbusybeingawesome · 13/10/2024 09:01

Would anyone be kind enough to spare an Argos code? About to buy DS Xmas list and any money off would be a bonus. I didn't realise mine had a short expiry date 😬

Ilovepugs2017 · 13/10/2024 09:01

Also if anyone is looking for Britney Spears midnight fantasy perfume Amazon have the 100ml bottles super cheap when using subscribe & save. There is an extra 10% off voucher so comes to £17.44.
It’s such a lovely smelling perfume too!

herofreddie · 13/10/2024 09:01

HC515 gives £5 off a £15 spend at Hobbycraft. Available on click and collect.

Wait4nothing · 13/10/2024 09:02

I’m planning my weekly food shop in Asda this week as they have a £5 Christmas saver voucher for my cash pop with a £40 spend. Not sure if it’s the same for everyone but worth a check.
Will look out for Xmas bargains too.

Ilovepugs2017 · 13/10/2024 09:04

Oh and just seen that the intimate fantasy perfume by Britney is down to £17.43 for 100ml

Solmum1964 · 13/10/2024 00:14

@Blessedbethefruitz if you have a Nespresso (or similar) coffee machine how about one of these for emptying the pods so you can recycle them (coffee in the compast and foil in the recycling) https://www.hotelchocolat.com/uk/podcycler.html
Only £3.88. Bought one for MIL last year.

Thank you for this - what a great price too!
