Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Aaw, so glad Otis was found, what a lovely thread this is!

Flubadubba · 12/10/2024 13:19

Massive praise for Look Fantastic! I ordered at 4.30 yesterday, and it just arrived!

The reviews suggest it’s the toy not just the shell…. Definitely sowing seeds of doubt though 🙈

Sorry for that. At least it can be returned easily if it isn't- the listing is super ambiguous to me!

This is a long shot and possibly will need a Christmas miracle! TW miscarriage

Years ago when DH and I were TTC and having lots of losses sadly, we saw a cute reindeer soft toy in Tesco. It was like a knitted type material and was a brown colour with a white tummy and a rainbow scarf and sat up rather than being on four legs. We bought it and said we would keep it until we had a baby. I got the reindeer out when I was pregnant with DD who is now 9 and had it when she was a newborn. We then had to move house quickly as landlord gave us notice and the reindeer got lost somehow in the move. I’d really like to get another one. It sounds ridiculous I know but I remember getting it and that was such a horrible time with losses etc and then the joy of getting pregnant with DD. I have no pictures of it so can’t google lens it. Anyone seen one or know the one I am talking about? I just need a picture so I can Google lens it.

Is it this one by any chance? Sorry if someone else has already suggested, just catching up now! **

Hello!
I'm after some help please! Has anyone see any of the Jakks brand Ice Luigi figures on their travels please?! 4 inch figure with a flower and articulated legs. B&m and the entertainer used to sell it but we can't find any in any stores or website.
There's two on ebay but was hoping to find one in a real shop this weekend as sometimes ebay can be slow to deliver. Son is autistic and once he has his mind set on something that's it!!

Thanks all!

Hi guys, just a heads up if you bought anything expensive that requires a code from Amazon.

My younger DS ordered some earbuds and - weirdly, given the recent conversations on here - some Tamagotchi- from Amazon on Prime Day.

Delivery was yesterday, but the guy handing over the parcel noticed a hole in one corner and suggested DS checked before accepting delivery. Sure enough - the earbuds had been removed. He refused delivery.

Over to today: Second Amazon guy - here’s your parcel, can I have the code? I jumped in just in time and pointed out it was the same damaged parcel as yesterday.

After a lot of discussion, Amazon guy took the the parcel back. He said there’s a code on the front that lets the packers and deliverers know a code is required and that it’s not unknown for small holes to be made to remove high value items. If the person yesterday hadn’t mentioned it, DS wouldn’t have noticed the hole until it was too late, (it had been done quite unobtrusively).

This is a long winded way, (sorry🙀), of saying, please check your parcels carefully!

WimbyAce · 12/10/2024 14:11

Who was it that wanted the Lakeland codes? Normally I bin them but I have kept latest 2.

mummyof2boys30 · 12/10/2024 14:12

I’m looking for a Dyson hairdryer and the instax camera. Does anyone know if they’re likely to reduce in price or be included in Black Friday sales?
Trying to decide whether to buy now or hold off in the hope of a better price.

Edited for spelling

I am not impressed 😾

SnowJamz · 12/10/2024 15:14

Can anyone please recommend a charging station/dock/stand for Nintendo Switch joy con controllers?

My 6 year old daughter really enjoyed the mosaics one. Maybe a bit fiddly but would be fine for a 7 year old. No mess either which is always a bonus in my book!

Yes, we've had that Marvellous Mosaics set. It's lovely - nicer than your typical sticker mosaics - and I've bought it myself since for class party gifts. That said, it's not worth £12 - I'd say £6 is a fair price for it, rather than a bargain one.

We have the mosaics and were pleased with it.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone. I've received my Tank museum, Postscript, whistlefish and Bargainmax orders and they're all fab and saved me so much money.
Now looking at the M&S toy sale and getting a few bits for birthday parties my dd is going to soon. The Out to impress bracelet kit and twinkling lights look great for the price.

watchuswreckthemic · 12/10/2024 15:40

Thanks to the people who posted about the revolution £5 freaky Friday sale and the mario badesu set from boots. I always have to buy/ suggest presents from other family members for my kids and things like this are so so helpful.

I've seen a post about the Lathwaite champagne- they also have these lovely Kew garden sets one with a really nice ceremant included

www.laithwaites.co.uk/jsp/offer/cm/common/offer.jsp?name=brand-kew-gardens#wines

I'm a member and I get free delivery, there's a new customer offer on and their customer service is lovely so really easy to change membership etc in my experience.

Lightseverywhere · 12/10/2024 15:56
